What is better or faster for the Mac? Camino or Firefox?

I like Safari 3, however would like something faster yet.

Thanks

Camino, Firefox is slow as hell on OS X. I do hear that the Bon Echo FF builds are way faster though, I dunno, haven't tried it myself.

Personally I like Camino, it's quite snappy, and integrates really nicely with OS X in terms of appearance (including form widgets etc, which Firefox doesn't), as well as making use of things like the built in spell-check dictionary. I haven't tried Safari 3, so I don't know what the rendering speed is like compared to that, but I find it quite good, at least as fast as Firefox, if not slightly faster (not surprising given that its the same engine in a more trim program). Camino also has a built in flash-blocker which is really handy considering how flash on OSX can really slow things down.

Firefox is definitely better if you want plugins and tons of extra functionality, but if you're getting by with just Safari, Camino will have everything you want and a little more, and there's no question it's a fine browser.

My advice is to try them both out, see which you prefer (or you may even find that you like Safari better).

I used Firefox for quite a while, but after I tried Camino I never looked back. I'm really happy that they added the built in spell check in V1.5. Previously, it was only available in the beta versions.

I'm starting to like Safari more, but or some reason it always crashes.

I'm not sure Camino or Firefox will be any faster than Safari 2.x. If you want speed, look at OmniWeb. The only problem I have with it is there are a few pages I use which don't render properly. Probably worth giving it a go, however.

Firefox if you have extentions you like and they don't work with anything else. Camino or Safari if you don't care about bells and whistles on your browser.

i used camino for a few months, but I really missed my extensions in firefox

adblock plus + autofill form + exif data + better gmail = the win for me

I use the BonEcho FF builds from beatnikpad.com

Camino for browsing and regular use. Firefox for web design and development. I also use Opera/Safari/IE6 and 7 (parallels) for testing.
