I'm hoping someone knows what the deal is with my computer. In a previous post I stated that I installed 2 512MB DDR 400 sticks in my 4 slots along with the 2 1GB DDR 400 sticks that were already in there. When I powered on I got no video.
Well, I took the suggestion of someone that...
Can anyone help me? I upgraded my RAM from 2 GB to 3GB filling all 4 slots on my mobo ,and I double checked to ensure the memory was properly secured. When I powered on the computer I was getting no video signal. I even took it out and reseated them... Everything powered on fine, but again no...
Anybody know what the deal is with my father in laws card? He just got the card in the thread title and check the core and memory frequencies in cool bits and it says 680Mhz memory frequency!!!! Shouldn't it be 1.36 Ghz??? Do you think his card is bad?
Well, I installed the Arctic Cooling NV5 on my 6800. WOW! What an improvement! My idle temps are now from 70-75 celcius to 55-60. On full load my temps would get up to 90 or higher, but now only get up to 70. I scraped off the thermal paste that was on the heatsink and used Arctic Silver...
Well, it's a new card. I've only had it for 3 weeks. I may replace the stock cooler with the NV5, but that brings up a whole different topic, ie. voiding the warranty.
Does any know what the normal core temp is for a 6800 GT? Mine idles at 70-74 degrees celcius and can get up to 90+ when running demanding games. Is this normal?
Will using arctic silver on video card memory damage the memory? I'm replacing my heatsink and fan for my card and I would rather use a high quality thermal greese instead of the pads. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks! :p
Hey all,
I just bought the NV5 Cooler for my BFG GeForce 6800 GT. I was getting stressed because this card freakin' HEATS up my system like I've never seen! I was showing 55 degrees celcuis ambient temp and 74 degrees core temp while idle. Has anyone had a good experience with the NV5? Is it...
This is from the BFG website:
>> LIFETIME WARRANTY.
Other vendors may claim to have a lifetime warranty, but closer inspection of their policy reveals that lifetime is defined as products currently on the shelf and in production.
BFG RULES!!!
It is true that BFG is doing a wonderful thing, and someone with knowledge of this could take advantage, but seriously, if you have purchased a card from them, you have the lifetime warranty and you can send it in for an RMA anytime. If they send you back your same card either new or fixed...
