Total comes to £389
But the motherboard is not listed on Scan website, where I tend to order stuff all together in occasion like this!
They have Asus P8H61-I, H61 Chipset, Socket 1155 for £61 though, what you think of that board?
The hard drive can be had for £50. But I really want to spend around £30 for a hard drive as it's more than enough for programming and storing stuff. Plus I also have an external hard drive.
My bad about the motherboard, I was looking other people's mini rigs without realizing the motherboard...
My PSU life came to an abrupt end 2 days ago makes me realize that it's desirable to have another system. Only this one will be use for programming only as I spend a lot of time writing program for assignments and for fun. This build will orient toward CPU speed.
1) What will you be doing with...
I tried the paper clip trick last nite, nothing at all. I'm so certain the PSU is dead else the LEDs on the motherboard would had at least light up. Unfortunately, I have no spare PSU to test. Never mind, I have already raised an RMA ticket with them already. Just need to pack it up and send it...
Yeah, I tried out the guide but nothing still. I have no paper clip or volt meter! Guess I better start filling in the RMA form. I think it's still under warranty (3 years), only been a little over a year.

PC was working fine this morning then I left for uni for 6 hours, got back, tried to turn PC on and nothing. Absolutely nothing.
No LEDs light on the MB and the PSU fan wasn't spinning. It was just dead silence.
I think the PSU is dead but I like to know if are there any possible...
All my hardware are new, I only built this PC from last September. I can't really record the sound because it happens quite randomly. Say this morning I flip the switch on and its fine but evening when I switch it on, it might make the noise.
I'm sure it is a loud bang noise.
I haven't tried...
I do have speakers but I use headphone on most of the time and I turn my speaker off. The loud bang sound is just really loud and sharp. I do know what the sound from the speakers like when turning on the PC. It's definitely not from the speakers.
Thanks.
I'm sorry I dont know where else to post this thread if in wrong section.
Here is the story:
Everytime I switch off my PC to go out or go to bed, I flip off the switch at the wall socket ( I dont unplug the wire). And when I turn on the PC, I just flip the switch again. But quite recently...
