Hi guys,

PC was working fine this morning then I left for uni for 6 hours, got back, tried to turn PC on and nothing. Absolutely nothing.

No LEDs light on the MB and the PSU fan wasn't spinning. It was just dead silence.

I think the PSU is dead but I like to know if are there any possible cause before filling in RMA form.

The system is just a little one year old. The core system spec is here:
AMD x6 1055T
XFX 750W PSU modular
AMD HD 6950 Graphic card

I dont overclocked the graphic card at all. I overclocked the CPU at 3.7Ghz without pumping up any voltage and it has been running stable for ages.

Any helps are appreciated.

Thanks.

There's a non-POST troubleshooting guide in the sticky thread here: http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1033078594&postcount=3

If you have or can get your hands on a known good PSU, install that and see if the computer comes to life. You could also try the power supply "paper clip" trick (link in sticky thread above) and check it out with a volt meter. But if you are under warranty you should probably at least get the ball rolling with XFX.

Just went through this myself, but my PSU was out of warranty.

Yeah, I tried out the guide but nothing still. I have no paper clip or volt meter! Guess I better start filling in the RMA form. I think it's still under warranty (3 years), only been a little over a year.

really, no paperclip? :p yah, sounds like you'll need a new psu anyhow. see if you can borrow one from a friend not named bestbuy nor frys while you wait for your replacement.

I tried the paper clip trick last nite, nothing at all. I'm so certain the PSU is dead else the LEDs on the motherboard would had at least light up. Unfortunately, I have no spare PSU to test. Never mind, I have already raised an RMA ticket with them already. Just need to pack it up and send it back to seller.
I'm in UK btw.

I have no friend!

But seriously no, my friends are far away and they are not into PC at all ;S
