Well the temperature calibrator is broke, so I'd like to fix it. Apparently, it can be 5 - 10 C off (I read). I can't say that for sure because I have nothing to compare it with.
All my heat sink and fan information is in my signature, and my CPU is 49C according to MBM5's average.
I tried flashing again in a different environment.
I only had my Boot Drive in, not any of my other drives. I flash and I get the "INSERT BOOT DRIVE" error. So obviously new BIOS has a problem with my boot drive and/or OS.
Then I flash back and everything is fine.
I then replug in all...
I have tried flashing twice in my day and neither time has been successful for the same reason:
After the flash, my BIOS does not recognize any of my Hard drive partitions.
I have tried flashing to version #20 and to a version from a few months back.
I was able to rescue my system by...
Motherboard Monitor 5. I don't know how the code for MBM5 is written, but I am willing to bet it simply reads what the BIOS says the temperature is.
I have heard that abits report incorrect temperature readings. I cannot confirm this fact, but since I have heard it from other sources I'll...
I have an ABIt IS7 motherboard. I use the thermaltake SLK 948 with an enermax fan that keeps my computer at about 42C -> 57C from idle to peak.
At peak (100% CPU) my motherboard beeps a LOT. Like anywhere from 20 times to 5 times a minute. So letting a video encode overnight ... is very very...
Do yourself a favor and don't even use a fan. Get this:

I use it. It works perfect and there is no moving parts (no fans) so no noise. It is all you need.
Only drag is you have to use the thermal adheasive.
I have an Abit IS7 with GEIL dual channel PC3500 RAM (should max out at 216MHz) and a Pentium 4 2.4C GHz.
Default Clock settings is 200:200 MHz.
Right now I have it overclocked at a 216:216 CPU:DRAM ratio.
Needless to say, that is a 1:1 ratio.
The RAM should get up to 216MHz (its rated...
