I have an Abit IS7 with GEIL dual channel PC3500 RAM (should max out at 216MHz) and a Pentium 4 2.4C GHz.
Default Clock settings is 200:200 MHz.
Right now I have it overclocked at a 216:216 CPU
RAM ratio.
Needless to say, that is a 1:1 ratio.
The RAM should get up to 216MHz (its rated at 433MHz, so that would be 216.5x2MHz) in all situations right? (I don't know for sure, I assume)
So, I tried 270:216 (5:4 CPU
RAM ratio) and it wouldn't work. I ram memtest86 and got over 50,000 errors before I just stopped the insanity.
I had my vCore raised to 1.60V and my RAM voltage at the motherboard maximum allowance of 2.8V.
I have good cooling, a Thermalright SLK-948 with a Enermax 92mm adjustable fan at highest RPM. The system resides between 40C -> 55C (idle -> peak).
What do you suggest I could do to get my computer to run error free at 270:216MHz.
My RAM can withstand up to 2.95V but the motherboard wont let me get it up that high
The CAS of my RAM is 2.5 6-3-3 1T @ DDR433 PC3500
Are there any other settings in my BIOS I can change that will allow me to successfully run my computer at 270:216MHz
--Basically get my computer to run at 3.2GHz with a 866MHz FSB.
BTW: If nothing works, which option, in your opinion or by fact, is better: 216:216 or a 250:200 ratio (both are error free)
Thanks
