I use the PS3 via DVI and the PC via VGA both can take 1080p. And you get a choice of aspect stretch (so if its 720p the dell stretches it to make use of more of the screen), 1:1 where you get the exact pixel size, so for 720p it would show a smaller...
There seems to be two doing the rounds, the earier ones seemed to be manufacutured in China, and the later ones assembled in Poland.
Just wondering where yours is from.

I currently have a 24" monitor and the pixel pitch is just way too fine for me. Text is very thin and makes my eyes hurt. So I am considering this beast!!

Do you have clearType switched on? If not please switch it on and test for me.
Right mouse click > properties > appearance > effects > use the following method to smooh edges of font > ClearType

I've read lots of threads on this but am still unsure about this particular pixel.
It's on a Dell 2407
On black and dark colours it's fine, but on white, or light colours, such as light blue, light green, light grey etc it's a bright green/blue colour.
I've tried to massage it, massage...
They are all great monitors whicever panel you get, its just the S panel is better calibrated - so you just need to change the colour settings on the others.
