    I'm going to get an APC Line-R 1200VA Automatic Voltage Regulator unit this week just in case. I only have 3 items to plug into it so that should be sufficient. I just read that all power supplies are on to some extent, otherwise the button to turn the pc on wouldn't work.

    thanks. It's been a while since I even bothered to do anything but use my pc much less mod it. I just didn't remember if the p/s buzzed or not since I don't really get down on the floor often to listen to it. I'll pull it and see about rma'n it and get a new one in the meantime.
