Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Pulled the PCI NIC and everything works as it should. Strange.......... Now if I only knew how to reset the bios config without having to add new hardware if it does this again.........
So just for fun, I had some old PCI Intel based 10/100 NICs lying around from when I built my router and I popped one of those into the box. Magically, when it rebooted, not only doest he 10/100 NIC work, but both gigabit NICs on the motherboard now do too!
Anyone got a possible explanation...
Hi everyone,
I'm having an issue with my OI build 148 file server. Last night during a storm we had a short power loss. When power came back on, box rebooted, but now OI cannot find any NICs. When looking in the network connections stuff it has not a single adapter available. Doing a...
Update:
So I got the drivers to install and the drives themselves able to be seen in OI 148. I followed This guide (post #60) and installed the older 3.03 version of the drivers instead of the newer 4.26. I have no idea why this older version doesn't complain about another driver requiring...
The chipset I have is one of the ones known to have issues with reflashing the card to the IT firmware (intel 5000 series). Since I know there is a pretty good chance of it being unable to be flashed, I would just rather get the driver working if possible.
I sort of followed it. I already had OI installed, so I didn't have to try to SSH in or anything like that. I did however, try that procedure when I booted off the Solaris Express 11 disk (I figured if it worked I would just overwrite my OI install), but still got the same error.

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to install the LSI drivers from the LSI website (the 9240-8i drivers). When I do pkgadd, it says to remove existing drivers. OK, it has SUNWmegasas installed, I do pkgrm SUNWmegasas, returns saying cannot change working directory to /var/sadm/pkg/SUNWmegasas/install so...
So I think I want to leave the IBM firmware alone, and I'm trying to install the LSI drivers from the LSI website (the 9240-8i drivers). When I do pkgadd, it says to remove existing drivers. OK, it has SUNWmegasas installed, I do pkgrm SUNWmegasas, returns saying cannot change working...
It doesn't seem to work fine out of the box though on my system. When I boot into IO (build 247) it just comes up with unknown driver error. I haven't tried loading the drivers from LSI yet (I don't even have OI installed on a disk yet though). The whole thing is kind of confusing to me. I...
Hi Everyone,
I recently procured an IBM M1015 for my OI/ZFS fileserver. I have read the flashing procedure (http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=12767.msg124393#msg124393) and think I understand it, however I have also seen numerous people say that it fails to flash because the LSI...
Forgive my ignorance, but I really don't know which firmware that consists of. I see tons of IT_firmware on the LSi site, but none seem to correspond to the 2008 SAS. Is there a different number I should be looking for?
Also, I haven't flashed BIOS/firmware since the days of MSDOS and floppy...
Hi everyone,
I'm struggling with the last few steps to get my file server together. I need an add-on PCIe SATA card to connect more drives. I purchased a card based on a Jmicron 363 chipset because I've read that they are compatible and the JMicro site says they are compatible with Solaris...
Hi Everyone,
I've hit a snag trying to get my file server up and running. I purchased an add-on PCI-E SATA card based on a JMicro 363 chipset because the solaris website along with some other articles stated it was compatible with the regular AHCI driver found in OSol and OI. I've got the...
