What are you nerds playing this weekend?

Starfield

Solving hab arrangement issues with my ship. Only reason for the issues is I forgot to add the Science Hab and having to move Habs around to make it fit.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake
I tried to play FF7 when it was originally released on Playstation, it looked right up my alley but I just could not get into it and bailed after 30 minutes. I think it had something to do with the chunky character models, which created this huge disconnect from the environments, and turn-based combat is not appealing to me.
Bought it on special, I figured it might be decent on a handheld when I'm idle. Played for a few hours last night and I'm extremely impressed with the polish on the graphics, and the option to choose 'classic' combat is nice (off, thank you).
Compared to the original PS release, this really shows what the peak of gaming has to offer; cinematic visuals, epic game worlds and no loading, on a freakin handheld (if you want it).

Against the Storm while it's free. Might be motivated to buy it, it's kind cozy and relaxing... kinda.

Doom the Dark Ages DLC. Need to finish up the optional areas so I can uninstall it.

DCS. Bought a new map. 140GB extra install size needed. Glad I bought an extra 4TB SN850X a while back. Should have bought a 3rd.

I've been playing a whole bunch of games lately and have finished a few and have started new ones as well.

Got done with Wreckfest for the 2nd time, I might get Wreckfest 2...maybe.

I finished up Afterfall InSanity: Extended Edition. One strange game with weird performance issues, but not bad all and all.

I beat RoboCop: Rogue City. I liked it a lot. I am currently playing the sequel Unfinished Business, which is more fun imho.

I finally got through Sniper Elite: Resistance. I really think they phoned that one in, too much like Sniper Elite 5.

Got a a little indie gem called Moon Mystery for 89c. Reviews are terrible, but I liked it and had non of the performance problems that a lot of peeps complained about.

Started Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts. I have mixed feelings about it. I've finished the first 2 missions so far and I'm not sure if I really like it yet.

Got 7 hours into Alone In The Dark 2024. I like it. Reminds me of RE and the graphics are pretty damn good too.

I'm about to install Avatar, hope I Iike it.

Downloaded Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided for another run through. I'd spun up MKD a few month back and had forgotten how fun these games were.

Played Animal Well this weekend. Definitely abused the game mechanics a bit to get places I probably shouldn't be able to. Found lots of secrets. Then locked myself out of a couple because I failed to consider the consequence of my actions. :rage:

Oh well, I'll just have to get them on another playthrough once I figure out how. I know how to get one, I just didn't do it before I got locked out, thinking I could later for some reason.

Have a few on the go, and just waiting for one to get its 'hooks in'.

Playing through Yakuza 0: Director's Cut; Very different from Infinite Wealth, and I'm finding the combat overly simplistic (though once you get more combat skills and styles, it's supposed to open up). Taking it's time to get really me hooked, but I remember the same with Like a Dragon. Playing it on Steam (performs great on a ROG Ally).

Trails in the Sky 1st chapter demo; I was meaning to purchase this one during the Steam summer sale (even had it in my cart) but forgot about it and the sale ended. It's currently on sale for Switch 2 and PS5 - Plays and looks great on my PS5 Pro, really wish these games had cross save because I'd buy it now without hesitation and grab it later on Steam for my Ally. But it doesn't, so if Trails doesn't come on sale for Steam before the Playstation summer sale has ended, I'll just pick it up there. Switch 2 version was kinda ugly, performed smoothly, but the game image was really soft and the screen felt like it had a hard time keeping up when playing in handheld.

170 flippin' runs combined over several real days (11 I think) to get the components needed to upgrade every Legendary Armor and Weapons i've found so far in Horizon Forbidden West.

170

Thirty runs one component. Another thirty runs no components. That's completely ridiculous. And I still have a few Legendaries to collect to get the Steam achievement.

Anyways, that's what I played along with Fallout 4 and Starfield.

Wasn't aware of this one, looks fun!

Snagged Campaign Evolved last night for Series X. Holy shit this game is gorgeous. The lighting is flat out incredible on Truth & Reconciliation, especially the grav lift set piece.

I snagged the above images taking pics of my TV last night. The pics really don’t do it justice at all.

Gonna try to finish up RE4 remake - keep going back to it then stopping for a while (original was fun as is this but isn't favorite RE by far - no zombies 😤) - beat El Gigante last I remember.

Fallout 4. Finally getting around to building up every stock and mod added settlements. Most are done. Currently working on Abernathy Farm who are getting a white brick makeover.

After playing through the fan-made PC port of Gears 2 I think I'm going to replay 4 and 5. They're dumb, but fun. I still have Black Flag Resynced, but after playing Shadows so recently the entire series feels a little tedious right now. I probably would have loved it 6 months ago, but right now it feels like a chore.

Moved on from Black Flag to Mirage. I never finished it when it came out because it was still buggy and something else came out which pulled me away from it (it was also boring and the amount of people that looked Mongolian in Bagdad was immersion breaking).

The Division 2 Global Event Assault and that Dust Storm event too that takes place NYC.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure

I went swimming past two days trying to straighten out my spine and loose weight. Due to excess videogames bad sleep and work stress. Bad posture while not gaming with a Valarie and foot rest. Global Warming is here to stay

Picked up Satisfactory and been having fun with that one so far, probably this weekends gaming for me.

Waiting for Trails in the Sky Ch1 to go on sale (I missed it for the Nintendo, Sony, and Steam Summer sales), but am currently playing through the demo on Steam (beat the demo on PS). I'm figuring the game should go on sale again soon as Chapter 2 comes out next month.

One thing, is that the Nintendo eShop demo is only the Switch 1 version (which looks like dog ass and runs at 30fps). I didn't realize this until I watched some Youtube comparison videos - I thought it was the Switch 2 version that I was demo-ing and immediately looked to play it elsewhere. However, knowing now that the Switch 2 version has a decent performing (and looking) 60 fps mode, I'd pickup a copy of the game for the Switch 2 as it feels great on a handheld (save anywhere too). Just wish Nintendo had the Switch2 demo available. At this point I'm going to grab it for either Steam or Switch2 - whichever ends up on sale first.

Otherwise I'll play through the demo, and start playing some titles from my backlog. I'm on night shift for the next few nights, so hopefully something will get its hooks in me.

Playing the Alan Wake remaster. I never actually played it when it came out. I grabbed the 2nd one for dirt cheap the other day and thought I'd better play the first before playing the 2nd. It's very much a game of it's time when it comes to gameplay and all the lighting gimmicks that I'm sure were probably impressive when it first came out.

Don't know, 2 Global Events on Division 2 back to back is a bit too much for me, getting kind of sick the game now. It's Ambush on TD2 and Strike on TD1
Probably Spec Ops: The Line

Yeah I'm downloading all my older UBI games since I have a faster connection just downloaded Siege working on the Division 2 which is a hefty 98 gigs.

I've moved onto Alan Wake 2. It's ok, but you can definitely tell Sweet Baby had a strong influence in reducing the overall quality.

Slogging through Gears 5. I loved it on the first playthrough, but the open world does replays no favors. Gears 4 via replay = better than I remember. Gears 5 via replay = horrible pacing.
