Xbox game pass PC

I cancelled my auto renew, but my 3 year prepay conversion I did originally runs out 3/2026. Definitely not worth it for me. Funny thing is it won't convert me to a buyer of COD either though that and BF2042 is mostly all I ended up using it for and a little UFC before giving my Xbox S to my brother.

Eating a loss on behalf of a giant corporation that has more money than sense
I doubt it's a loss, they most likely have a huge backlog/stock of ultimate passes they already paid Microsoft for under the old pricing scheme, and stock will run out eventually.

Opportunity cost or a real loss. Either way a small on its life's end company is eating it for a big corp. I just don't get it.

oh you didnt mean the $300m loss, you meant gamestop. (problem with not quoting or referencing what youre talking about)
they paid one price for them so they are selling them at the og price. im sure when they have to order a new batch they will have to pay a new price. or do you expect them to mark up the $20 cards?!

I mean everyone marks up. You saw what vendors did when tariffs were announced. It's not like their cost base changed overnight on goods already sitting in USA.

Either way, maybe back on topic. I personally think that MS will roll back this change (as they have done on many other occasions).

sure, and they are being cool and not jacking up the price on something they already paid for. thats not helping the "giant corp"...
sure, but you brought it up. maybe be clearer in the first place....

I never saw the value before. I guess I could see if gaming was my only hobby where I spent 20+ hours a week playing. But with my existing backlog of seemingly great games in my Steam and PSN library that I already don't have time for, I'd rather just reach into there than a Netflix-style catalog of mostly mediocre garbage publishers put out nowadays. I don't play CoD either and rarely care to buy games on day 1, esp. the broken UE5 games that somehow keep launching with significant performance and stability issues.

I am down to 12 bucks a month. It’s not a significant outlay now and I still get to play the games.

I had a trial version. Played indiana jones and dead space 2023.

Tried to play some bigger games and felt like I was wasting time (oblivion, outer worlds 2). also liked playing my multiplayer games I own, so decided to cancel. $30/month is a lot more than I would've gotten out of it IMO.

Got a month free with my Gamesir G7 SE controller. Played Black Ops 7, will do Sniper Elite Resistance next. For free I can't complain but the Xbox app... well had one freeze on the app so far.

TBF the original Xbox lacked good exclusives.
Something which helped make up for that.....is that some Xbox versions of games were vastly better than the PS2 versions.

Splinter Cell was Xbox exclusive for a fair bit of time--------but the eventual PS2 port barely compared.

Similarly, Max Payne 2 is extremely rough looking on PS2, and has a very inconsistent framerate. On Xbox, Max Payne 2 looks just as good as the PC version when running a Geforce 3 or 4, and has a consistent framerate. The only way to make Max Payne look better, was to use a Radeon GPU with DX 8.1 (glass and some surfaces have a more complex shiny shader. And character models also have a shiny shader).

Xbox also had a few sleeper exclusives. Such as Otogi 1 and 2. Character action series, developed by FromSoftware.

I remember this, especially Splinter Cell. There were a couple of other games. If I recall Jedi Starfighter ran better on Xbox, it can stutter and frame rate issues on PS2. A lot of multiplatorm games were better on Xbox. Of course games optimized for the PS2 often looked good.
