Cyberpunk 2077

all 100 floors are explorable with their own unique layout and enemies?

Yeah, it would have to be a proper map. But 100 stories would be a bit much, maybe 15-20. I don't really need parkour or anything like that, but some windows to get a sense of the verticality would be nice. Night City is fun but the few large buildings we go into only have 1 or 2 explorable floors. Arasaka Tower is essentially the lobby and one penthouse suite, with a few disconnected areas in the ending sequences.

Imagine the building that your apartment is set in, with many more shops, levels, and things to do. Atrium floor, some apartment levels, and industrial areas, office areas, things like that. Spread over the course of a 10 or so hours long DLC. Yeah there will be no cars, but I'd like to feel like I'm in a towering building for once to change it up.

It would be interesting if a future DLC was set in a large sky scraper like this, and you had to fight through many floors. 50-100 floors
That's 100% exactly what the Summit mode in The Division 2 is, I don't know if it comes with the base game or one of the DLC packs.

Never played those games, I'm sure it is great for what it is. My understanding is Cyberpunk is a lot more different as it is a story based SP game and The Division is an MMO. MMOs aren't my cup of tea so I never bothered with TD or TD2.

They are not MMOs, it's more like Path of Exile or Diablo where multiplayer is 'instanced' and optional. They are pretty much online arpgs but instead of fireballs you have bullets and 'tech' based skills. 95% of the content in The Division games can be played solo. Only need a squad for activities similar to end game raiding.

The TD games regularly go on sale for like 5-10 bucks, so you can't really go wrong with giving it a shot if you're looking for a game to kill some time one day.

CP2077 has more emphasis on story and is a lot less linear then the division games but they can both be played mostly solo, but like Drexion said there is a multiplayer part to the game (mostly coop like borderlands games) and a bit of PVP in one or a few zones but there is no story advancement there and can be ignored alltogether if you want.

Downside of these shooting ARPG's is the bulletsponginess of stroger enemies/bosstypes.

I myself never looked into the division games for a long time but at some point I was looking into some 3rd person shooters and the first one came highly recommended and was pretty cheap by then, never regretted getting into it and later the 2nd one. Hoping they make a third one.

Some pictures from the newer build. In the second picture you can see a projectile being fired. NPCs were just using regular weapons as far as I could tell.

The Division games are not MMO's. They are looter shooters. They have more in common with Destiny 1 and 2 than they do something like World of Warcraft or ESO.

How well does this game play using a controller? I haven't played first person shooters in ages. Back when I did I was a staunch keyboard and mouse guy but I find the steam controller or wireless 360 controller far more comfortable, and minimize keyboard and mouse use outside of work as much as possible. The few times I've tried shooters with a controller, the aiming felt awkward. Cyberpunk isn't a hard-core shooter so maybe its more forgiving, and does it offer an auto aim option? And maybe combat can be minimized (not entirely)?

Thanks.

Not sure how auto aim works, but I cannot stand shooters on controllers. Especially FPS games. I can't see how this would be worth playing on a controller unless you're good with one and really don't like keyboard and mouse.

Could be worth if your tv setup is more comfortable with one and if you prefer driving with analogue control, maybe it was patched but at first driving on the keyboard felt worst than with the controller.

How well does this game play using a controller?
I did tend to use one but go to the mouse keyboard for the important fight, but I am someone that never played shooters with controllers, it is possible to create characters that use less precision shooting, "magic" and blunt weapon, to dimisnish the issue.

Thanks all. How fast paced is the combat in general, like does it require twitch skills? I am too slow for the likes of COD, BF, twin stick shooters, etc. STALKER and Dues Ex is about as fast as I can take in terms of combat. In STALKER I usually would creep around and ambush.

You can approach combat in multiple ways. Ranges, debuffs, swords, run and gun, etc. It isn't a like an online FPS .

It does extremely well. I played it on a PC with an xbox series S wired controller the entire way through. I found it substantially more easy to control the driving aspect.

I often play games with both. So I switch to a controller when I grab a vehicle, GTA5 is an example.

Not that fast and enemies can be bullet spongy.

Like LukeTbk mentioned, you can make a hacker character that basically never engages in physical combat, just hack cameras and people, and there are many ways to make baddies kill themselves...

That’s pretty much how I played it. Also by the end of my play through most of my weapons were smart weapons with target seeking bullets so a controller didn’t matter on the few instances I did have to shoot people.

I've been reading this thread since launch day.... and honestly, I'm tired of your troll.

Chill out yo, go play Elden or something

horror show is an appropriate name for you...I'm almost done with Far Cry 6 and I only play 1 game at a time...I almost started Cyberpunk but decided on FC6...I know once I start Elden Ring I won't stop so I'm trying to knock out some of the others in my backlog first

your self control is amazing! there's no way i could make myself wait that long to play Elden Ring, lol.

I'm the biggest From Software fan so it's been tough...the hardest part was when it was first released...even moreso after hearing the amazing reviews...I really want the ray-tracing patch before starting this and the performance should also be improved by then

Yep, game is gorgeous. I'm taking a break from Elden Ring and finally giving Cyberpunk my first serious playthrough. OC'd 3090 + LG 48" 4K (G-Sync) and all settings and RT cranked. It's fantastic, smooth, pretty much flawless.

Is the auto aim assist/snap to target in this game broken? I don't see it doing anything and it's detracting from the combat bc I'm playing w a steam controller. I no longer use mouse and keyboard for gaming so either wireless Xbox controller or steam controller are the only viable options for me.

PS how in the heck do you kill those drones chasing your limo at the end of the heist mission? Seems to be a timed mission bc I always fail it at the same point. Without any kind of working auto aim, I am finding it impossible to kill those drones w my dinky pistol, even when using a keyboard and mouse. I'm gonna need a cheat or something.

If you're using the stick to aim you can try turning down the inside deadzone and turning up the zoom sensitivity reduction setting. Otherwise aim assist in this game is known to not be good.

Night City is one seriously impressive world. Haven't played more than a few hours of gta v so I don't know how it compares, but I'm really enjoying riding around on my motorcycle. I've read that it's pretty much all surface level without deeper interaction outside of missions, so maybe that will become apparent the longer I play. For right now though, I am impressed. I hope the development can build on this in future expansions.

This game strikes me as the ideal combo of Far Cry and Deus Ex, with a little bit of GTA thrown in as far as Night City goes. Riding around on Jackie's motorcycle is still interesting even 15 hours on.

Cyberpunk 2007 Expansion Details Leak

It will take players to the Combat Zone, an area of the Pacifica region which was inaccessible in the base game but did feature in the art book, The World of Cyberpunk 2077...players will also visit the Sports Dome, the large inaccessible arena from the main game, which will be the location of one of the main missions...

So i've played about 2 hours, maybe 3, and i just can't get into this game. Does it pick up at all? I'm running around in a dead world, doing quests that i don't really care about.

I did find you can just jump on a car, and it will drive you around the city endlessly... super immersive.

Have you and Jackie done the big job? If you are an hour or so past that and still not getting into it, it may not be for you.

Stop doing the side quests and go straight to the story ones. A lot of the side quests are pretty meh.
