Battlefield 2042

If the game is big enough on PC it doesn't need it. Going off of BF4, I think we can argue Battlefield doesn't need it if the game is good.

In MW 2019 you can see some of the problems cross play brings with aiming.
I don’t see an issue with aiming if no one is cheating. Both KBM and pad of their advantages and disadvantages. Personally I love cross play.

As it all seems this will be one big Bugfield 2042.
There are a lot of cpu and gpu combinations, add nvme, ssd, amd fsr and nvidia dlss, how it will look in the end I have no idea.
And not only those with the latest hardware will want to play the game, but also those with older ones like me.
After the release the price could fall significantly.
They turn too much to battle royales.
And we must not forget that windows 11 is coming out, many will have to buy completely new components if they want to be competitive.

and that's different than every other game ever released how?

Well. Don't preorder. I think it will be a good game. Just not at launch. This is based on experience. I look forward to the beta but remember that isn't necessarily what the released game will be like.

Why not pre-order to get the freebies and then wait to play until the major bugs are fixed? That's what I do...

That's like buying a car and waiting until all the recalls get issued before driving it.
Except car recalls can take years (the airbag recall on my BMW E46 is still in effect 20 years after it was built), most major game bugs are released within a few weeks (maybe months), but thanks for the apples to oranges comparison ;)

This is not a real battlefield, they could give people bad company 3 with real bigger conquest maps of 64-80 players, add TDM, rush and a few infantry only maps and everyone would be happy, without bots, dogs, battle royal mods and other nonsens.
They ruined the battlefield series with this bugfield 2042 shit.

The heck are you on about?

Don't preorder bc it makes it ok for them to release buggy games. I personally don't give a crap about goodies. I want a solid release.

General consensus is you are COMPLETELY wrong. All you have to do is look at the amount of hype, likes etc. BF2042 has generated. A buddy of mine is having me build him a $2k+ system solely for this game as he was a major fan of BF3/4 but had zero interest in the latest BF titles as well as BC spinoff. He usually finds something to nitpick or hate but said after the gameplay reveal "I don't see anything I dislike". You are literally the only person Ive seen whining about the game and all you've seen are 2 trailers, one of which being gameplay.

If you don't like it then don't buy it. I've bought every BF game since 1942 except Hardline and BF:V because I didn't like the direction of the game. Its okay not to play it.

The thing is, they're deliberately playing a buggy game.
Those who know how to play and have powerful hardware right at the beginning of the game get the biggest advantage, and then rape the newcomers the most.
Bugfield 2042 is a game for kids and it's not a real battlefield, it's confirmed by the levelcap who has a lot of experience, but he can't shit too much per game because he's on the payroll.
Here in europe they are already slowly giving up the game and the preorders are returning.
After the release the game will be shared with a fist and a hat for little money because no one will want to play it.

Show me exactly where Levelcap said "Battlefield 2042 is a game for kids and not a real Battlefield".

Secondly how would you know the amount of bugs an unreleased game has? At this point you just look pathetic dumping on a game because it's not what you wanted. You already said pages ago you pretty much only played campaign in BC2 yet are here crying for a BC3. Newsflash, NOBODY cares about campaign in Battlefield games. They are finished in a couple hours then forgotten about. They're a waste of resources.

Finally, if you want a level playing field in hardware go buy a PlayStation or Xbox.

Yeah campaign counts for nothing. Waste of time.

The only real concerns that I have are based around them trying to do too much. BF2 and 2142 were the best games of the series for me. This was due to being able to play the game competitively. We had much more control over the game with mods and private servers. Now? I don't know. It will be a fun but casual game. Competitive play was the best. If they would just allow that to exist instead of what's been going on since bf3....

Soooo demanding games run better on more powerful hardware!? Consider my mind blown!

Gaming moves a lot faster. You wait for everything to work itself out and you’re in the back foot compared to a la portion of the player base. To each their own, but your methodology makes no sense to me. Especially considering many bugs aren’t universal, you won’t even know if your system is affected.

Gaming moving faster is basically what I was saying, which is why I thought your comparison was a bit off but ok....and bugs that are not universal are inherent in any new pc game, whether you wait or not. It's not like a large proportion of players are at such a competitive level that I can't ever catch up, you just switch servers until you find other players at your level. Just because you don't think it makes sense doesn't make it invalid...

But how would you know if you'd be affected by bugs and which bugs, if you're not playing the game? How would you determine when the bugs that you don't know how/if would affect you, are fixed? Do you just randomly decide on patch number X you'll jump in?

I'm not trying to color your methodology valid or invalid, but you're recommending people do what you do. If I'm someone who thinks there might be some validity to it, these are the questions I'd have.

Based on past personal experience with every other BF release, the major bugs affect everbody, and are widely documented. Once those are largely addressed, I jump in (having potentially paid less and having bonus items). Undoubtably there may be smaller bugs that are rig/setup specific, but again that is generic to pc gaming. I am not telling people that they should do what I do, just passing on what I do do. Do, or do not, that is your choice. :D

LevelCap has listed all the essential items that will deter people from buying in Europe. No one wants to play against bots, they have made a lot of critical mistakes. In Europe they want to play more like BC3, BF3 and BF4 with new top graphics. And 2042 is far from that .
People in Europe don't care if the game is 100 or 1000 euros, they want a top game with top graphics that spins at over 100fps on their rtx 3090 cards, they don't care about the price, they want to play battlefield for many years.
And now they happen to return preorder battlefield 2042 because they just don’t like it.
Secondly, there are also a lot of those who only play the campaign and MP is not interested in them at all, they buy the game when it is on sale and only play the campaign.

Just because we have an option to play 128 player servers doesn't mean one HAS to. I'm sure if a person wants a less spammy, more tactical game they can go to smaller servers. I along with many others have wanted a higher player count for years. Joint Ops had 150 players in the servers and the gameplay was fine.

More choice is not a bad thing.

He doesn't complain about having 128 players though and more expresses about concerns that can happen when you introduce the higher player counts.

I agree I want the player count and I have no issues with his concerns about flow and spam with 128 players.

How do you have preorder information as far as returns are concerned? Preorders weren't even available until the game was announced...me thinks your full of crap.

I won't even argue campaign with you as Battlefield has NEVER been about campaigns or single player. If it were just a campaign game it would probably not even sell a quarter of the copies it's going to. You say people want to play the game for many years then go on to say they're not interested in multiplayer. Outside of maybe Skyrim for the mods that game has never existed.

Still pretending your opinion applies to an entire continent?

Mostly yes, I follow in two local places and the interest is no, they are not thrilled at all.
Just a few who will buy for an attack helicopter.
When I talk about battlefield I only think about PC, real console (sony or xbox, nintendo) I didn't have.
But it's not a console game either, it shouldn't be ... it should be exclusively for PC.

Show me your data for 750 million people please. I asked you this once before and you ignored the question. Since you’ve continued to nominate yourself as the spokes person for Europe, you should be able to supply this data.

I'm glad I read your comment about Bad Company being "real battlefield" (which is objectively not "real" battlefield"), otherwise I might take something else you say seriously.

I don't know, that's what they say here...
I don't have data, ea and dice know that.
If i chose i would say that battlefield 3 was the most popular all over europe, for infantry and conquest.
Does anyone know if hazard zone battle royale?
And does anyone play here bf1?

How do you know that’s what they say there if you don’t have the data? Your opinion would equate to “that’s what I think” not “that’s what they say here” because you haven’t provided one iota of data to support anything you’ve said.

Looks like Europe has more people playing BF4 than any other continent. How is that possible?

Battlefield 4 is the last modern shooter, there were no modern weapons for a long time and that is why it is now popular before the release of 2042.
Battlefield 3 was even more popular, many got their doctorates on m16a3, the french kills with 3 bullets from m16a3 etc. etc., I don't know if you know that at all.
Do you have data for bf3, is the game alive, are there still any servers?

Game looks fun. BF5 was pretty polished even at launch.. i don't get the hate? I mean was it perfect no? but what game is. Guess time will tell..

Everyones favorite game in history witcher 3 has more patches then like all games combined lol.. Yet its praised.

bf1 was also well polished, I don't know how much they changed but in older titles they changed all the time with everything, from TTK to everything, usually in modern battlefields there is a lot of chaos and there is no balance, so it will be with this 2042.

BF4 has gained popularity in the last few weeks due to BFs 2042 imminent release, more so in Europe than any other place on Earth. It appears Europe is where the excitement is more than any other continent for BF2042. In other words, the actual data suggests the exact opposite of the fantasy based surveys you’ve done of Europe’s population.

It remains to be seen how popular it will be in europe, my prediction is that it will not sell much, only later when prices drop significantly and when newcomers come to try it out.
If a real Bad Company 3 came out without bots and other nonsense then it would be a complete hit, they would earn billions on preorders in Europe.
The next battlefield must be for sure bad company 3, now they have mostly cracked everything with ww1 and ww2 and bf2042 battle royale.

It remains to be seen how popular it will be anywhere in the world. However, The data suggests it will be quite popular in Europe. So again, for the fourth time, what are you basing your guess on exactly?

On local forums in europe, there is no interest. They just don’t like which direction the battlefield is going.
What data? This data for bf4 means nothing.
