I thought I had my mind made up on the FE version of the card but like with the launch of the 10 series Asus seems to be the only manufacturer making cards with 2 HDMI ports which means I'll be going with Asus again given my setup.
1xHDMI into receiver
1xHDMI for VR
2xDP for monitors.
Nope.Wrong comparison if so.
If top card is the 3080 and it has 10gb and the 1080ti was top card and it had 11gb, then yeah, it is going down in memory. Maybe!Wrong comparison if so.
I wonder if I will be able EVGA P2 650w PSU will be good enough for 3080. I'm not planning on O/C. This will go with the upcoming zen3 4070x CPU.

$50-$150 more than the FE models.how much are AIB models rumored to be priced at for the 3080?
Agreed! But I do not see any horses.Well, one of those has a Ti after the 80. The 80 is never the top card. I suspect we'll see a 80 Ti later on then we can compare 80 Ti versus 80 Ti. Also, the 90 is the top card and it's not a regression versus the 1XXX series top card or the 2XXX series top card.
Agree to disagree and I'll move on. Beating this horse to death.
I found the error, it's your post.Nope.
1080 non-Ti $599
1080ti $699
2080 $699
3080 $699
find the error

Well price gouging is a different story. AIB's will sell them for $50-150. Then on top of that you will need to add in the price gouging.that's not bad...I was expecting some price gouging

I expect cards to be 850-1000 range for 3080 imo.
Got a setup ready to go in my garage is you want to come to a price.
I found the error, it's your post.
1080 Founders Edition was $699 when it first came out, not $599. I should know, I bought one from Nvidia when they were first released and still have the e-mail receipt.
The 1080 Ti Founders Edition was also $699 when it first came out...a year after the 1080.
The 2080 Founders Edition was $799, not $699. The 2080 Ti Founders Edition was $1,199.
The 2080 Super Founders Edition was $699.
So for the 3080 Founders Edition to be $699 is actually cheaper than the previous 2080, same price as the 1080, 1080 Ti, and 2080 Super when they were first released, and a lot cheaper than the 2080 Ti. This is all referring to the Nvidia Founders Edition releases, not AIB or non-FE models.
Just to throw this out to my [H] brethren, Bestbuy gives a one time 10% off coupon for your birthday month. I am going to use it. Question is on a 3080 or 3090 .
$800 for 18% perf increase is rouughhhhh.
I think 6am tomorrow PST. so about 17hrs to go.NDA lifting in a few hours?
I'm going to bed, will be at work in about 10 hours. The first thing I do at work will be to read reviews.
That's interesting. I'll call my Best Buy tomorrow and see what they say.So I called back to the best buy and got connected to a product availability person for the region.
She said that no stores would be getting the cards until there were 100 preordered (I told her that the manufacturer was not allowing preorders for this product).
She said unfortunately nothing was in transit and there would not be stock at any stores in my state.
I'm not sure whether she just doesn't know anything or if they've well and truly fucked this up.
I checked the founders SKU and 2 others with her, and she said none of them were being shipped to stores.
The MSRP of the RTX 2080 was $699 and the Founders Edition was $799

In a couple of days we will see how the street price will be for the 3080. I bet it will range up to $850 or more.
I wouldn’t waste my money on 3090 tbh. The performance gain doesn’t justify it.
more newegg prices
So with a little bit research, I think you can figure out the prices. On the left, there's a pricing filter and it filters the cards even though the price is not visible. With a little bit tweaking, trial and error, my conclusion for the rest of the series is this. Of course they might be placeholder too. You can play with the pricing and see:
XC3 Black: $729
FTW3: $789
FTW3 Ultra: $809
Halo is never justified on a cost/performance basis. Not everyone does the math and buys that way. But you did say you wouldn't buy it and try to put your value proposition on it....did you?
So none of them are selling at MSRP?
So none of them are selling at MSRP?
RTX 2080 was msrp $700 (same as 3080) and the absolute cheapest one at launch was $750 and it was one evga model.Did Nvidia state MSRP was for anything but the FE's? I'm not sure. Regardless, it's a new release and prices will be inflated. Anyway, I think NV let the AIBs set their own prices this time. Might be because they set their FE price low? Hmmmmmm, wonder where I heard that from?
If I'm this drunk in the morning I'm getting a 3080
Any drunker and I'll be getting a 3090
Where's that Myer's
