Ryzen 3950X, 3960X, 3970X Availability

All stock settings so far, have not done any tweaking, 64GB of ECC memory.

Lol COD MW2 uses 6 to 8 percent of the CPU when gaming at 4k60 online multiplayer on the OLED.

Low utilization numbers like that are usually more of an indication that the game/program isn't using very many cores/threads. It doesn't necessarily mean that there is a ton of headroom left on the cores/threads that the game/program is able to utilize.

What is the typical voltage for a 3950x? I have my system up and running (on it now) but its sitting at 1.4 to 1.5 volt per core, no oc.. just default settings.. that seems pretty high to me. asus crosshair viii hero mb.

Yeah, on my old setup having way less cores usage was way higher, single threaded performance on this is better and having way more cores with that low of usage means pretty much no heat / silent fans when gaming (other than the video card). Will be interesting to try exporting a larger video project at the same time as the editing software I use doesn't seem to utilize all the threads available yet.

Whats the deal with this place? http://www.nextwarehouse.com/item/?...wXDfx2HnyL1_sblHzJF3xmrSW6ZFBNNBoCKggQAvD_BwE

Their quantity says 392 tomorrow...

Tempted to pull the trigger.

Bro, seriously?

Microcenter cant even get but 1 or 2 per week regionally. What makes you think that B rate site can get even 1 much less 300?

Have patience dont let desperation cost you dearly in money. Some of these b rate operations will hold your money for a month before refunding

Frys is a pure shit operation.

I could run through that place butt naked covered in grease shooting fireworks and yelling obscenities and their employees wouldn't give two shits and stand there and stay glued to facebook on their phones.
LOL! Tempted to sig that

Wouldn't CC company do it quicker if you chargeback it?

And now pretty much every norwegian outlet has 3970's in stock, but at prices from 2600 USD and up......
And still not a single 3950 in the country afaik.

I found a 3950X in stock and went to buy it. My card was declined. NFCU didn't contact me until 15 seconds ago to inquire if it was a legit charge.

That's the 2nd time NFCU has acted arbitrarily and cost me a purchase.

I think that, after 25 years of being a member, it's time to do my banking elsewhere...

Will need to start the process of moving accounts over to a new bank after Xmas...sigh...

It was to protect you after all. Ain't Navy Federal pretty good generally? Everyone I know that has seen to love it over any other bank.

Hmmm MC in Rockville MD just received a bunch of 3900x but their page is blank when searching for a 3950x. I might have to swing by there after work.. 2 hour round trip tho.

What are everyones temps with 3950? I have a custom loop and sitting low 40s at idle (according to hwmonitor) and ~80c max.. 2080ti is at 34c idle and maxes around 52c.. seems a little high to me but not sure if that is normal.

Mine hasn't gotten above 60 yet at full load gaming -

Loop is Watercool.de Heatkiller, ex420 radiator w/ Noctua IPC fans, D5 pump and a res.

Their service has really declined over the last 5-10 years.

They have incorrectly declined my card on may occasions for the most stupid of reasons...2 cases in point:

1 - (3months ago) We have a Baskin & Robbins about .75mi from my office (which is across the street from the local NFCU branch). My card was declined there because the attempted purchase was, "outside my lending area".

2 - I've been a Prime member for years...I placed ~16 separate orders at Amazon last year totalling over $4500 in November in preparation for Xmas gifts last year. No problem there at all. I paid it off in full, as I've done every month for the last 15 years. My card was then declined because I tried to purchase an $8.66 coping saw. (the only charge on my card with a 25K limit) Called NFCU and they said they don't know why it was declined. I asked them if it's actually possible a purchase can be declined with no reason and they said "no." I asked (politely) again..."Then why was my card declined?" They could not or would not answer. I was Xferred and the call dropped...THREE TIMES IN A ROW. Every time I called after that to ascertain what happened, the call was dropped...

They have crap auto loan rates now which don't come close to what Auto Companies offer and they will no longer do chargebacks. At least for me...

This BBuy purchase was an example of that. I was not allowed to choose the shipper or the shipping method to be used (I alway make sure to choose one with a signature required) It's my position that the non-delivery (to me) of the CPU from my recent order was BBuy's responsibility to resolve with the shipper THEY chose to use. (BBuy chose standard priority mail, no insurance and no signature required for an $818.28 order...)

NFCU said as long as USPS showed it as delivered it's on me to sue BBuy and/or USPS, or eat the loss. Luckily, BBuy said they did process a refund for the order while being recorded by NFCU as part of the "dispute process" so I'm pretty sure I'll get the money back within 1 billing cycle (according to BBuy...)

Had BBuy decided not to refund me I would have had to sue them and the United States Post Office. I'm pretty sure that "Zen 10980" would be released before I could get a court date when attempting to sue the Post Office...so much for NFCU standing up for their customers...unless "customer" means "businesses"

Ouch. Well, you qualify for USAA, give them a ring?

;)

Nothing wrong with ~80c max if you're getting the performance you're expecting!

My 3900x was a hot monster. I had it under custom loop as well. 80s was standard issue.

Gaming is not full load, not even close. Maybe a full gaming load but that's not a full cpu load

Download prime 95 with avx and run it for 10 mins. Then let's see that 60c stick around.

okay thanks, kinda figured but wanted to be sure my cpu block mount job was not messed up before I drained everything to take it off and remount. :)

Hi all again, my first post here ever was killed as spam and I was banned an hour ago and have since got reinstated, so I obviously haven't quite got the hang of posting links... but anyhow, I noticed over on shopblt.com (no link this time) that they have a couple 3960x's in stock. I have one on back order with B&H as well, but I have to wonder how this site is able to hang onto their two given they sell out so fast. So I'm naturally suspicious but other members in another thread indicated the site is legit when doing a search in these forums. Perhaps others have had a positive experience there so just throwing it out there, but I can't seem to get myself to pull that trigger. I've been following this thread in the hopes that someplace manages to break a load of chips at some point and I can maybe snag one. I'm gonna hate myself if this site really did have two available all morning. They are forecasting a lot more chips next week, but that may all just be window dressing...

I think I got my Q6600 from ShopBLT years ago.

Thanks, so thought it over more... felt like that guy in the movies that didn't know whether to cut the red wire or the blue wire... so I cut the red one and ordered one. The stock did go down one, for what it's worth, but I don't get a status on my order until tomorrow. That leaves one more in stock and I'll check back tomorrow and see if one did indeed ship out.
