"Interestingly, NVIDIA has decided to postpone the review embargo for custom cards to July 9th. It should be said as it is, it is a very bad decision, which will affect the sales of AIC cards. The criticism is justified and we are probably the only site that can tell you this right now (because everyone else is under embargo). It is not only anti-consumer, whose opinion will be based on Founders Edition cards only, but also anti-partner behavior.

NVIDIA has confirmed announcement and launch dates for GeForce RTX Super series to the press. All their SKUs will be made public on July 2nd. This is the embargo on the news for all three cards. When it comes to reviews only 2070S and 2060S embargo will lift on the same day. The RTX 2080 SUPER review embargo has not been decided yet by NVIDIA (officially it’s TBD — or ‘later in July’).

The information from NVIDIA does not confirm if SUPER series will be available on the same day as reviews (hard launch / on-shelf date)."

2080 looks to be ships later in July, Ti in Sept. - Leaves Titan RTX Super yet TBD and the continued focus on nVidia based founder cards ahead of AIB.

You buried the lead. Also would helpful if you put quoted material in quotes so we know what is you, and what is the source. Also your title is misleading. Only AIB info is postponed.

The Lead from the same source:

Videocardz is the most reliable "rumor"/leak site out there. So we can expect 2060s/2070s info on July 2nd, and likely some reviews. I don't see waiting another week for AIB review to change much of anything.

Updated to include launch dates... though doesn't really seem to be much excitement over new RTX cards these days...

So we still don't have actual street dates? These are just the day the NDA gets lifted and reviews go live. Have we seen cards available at launch recently? Seems like we get a lot of paper launches any more.

And I agree with the statement on pricing above. You know they want every last penny. Nvidia going hard on getting the jump on AMD and trying to keep the news cycle spinning in their name.

AIB cards a week later puts reviews book-ending the release of AMD. Seems like Nvidia trying to shut down any hype that might come.

So, the 2080ti will now be the 2080sti? or the S2080ti, or the 2080TiS

Sounds like good business to me. When you are a day late and a dollar short like AMD has been the last several years you are vulnerable to this kind of business tactic. Too bad for them since they are sucking hind tit.

Haha, EVGA is trying to offload the rest of their stock under the guise of their 20th Anniversary. They'll give you $100 bucks for a GTX 980 for trade in. I have one, but I ain't biting.

I agree, just saw their email. I have a 770GTX in a spare PC and $50 aint bad. The thing is I don't need another card and the 770 actually runs pretty good in my Linux computer.

You mean they are still calculating how much the additive super will cost Nvidia customers extra ?

The buthurt over that NVIDIA is making money (the sole purposeof a business) is hillarious...but getting booooooooring.
Price to much for you?
Don't buy...free market 101.

But stop the whining...you sound like toddler that dropped his icecream....lot of noise...but no useable info....besides that you are UBER buthurt...

If nvidia keeps the same prices for their super lineup and drop a few buck off the ogs (~50$ or so), i think they will probably sell well

Does super stand for super expensive? :p
I seriously doubt these cards will be $100 less than the ones they are replacing (as one rumor stated).
If anything they'll be more expensive

That was an early rumor, think its basically not taken serious now.

or they're making the current ones 100 dollars less and slot these new ones in the original cards price bracket.. only thing that makes sense but then you might as well just buy a 2080 instead of the 2070 super at that point.

yeah, I actually think this might happen, if anything. A discount, on non-super inventory to clear them out (not sure if they'll keep the non-super cards around or not).

Everyone still shitting on AMD...but at least they're trying. NAVI rumors forced an early RTX launch (with no software support). I still think Radeon VII forced nVidia to open up the drivers to "G-Sync Compatible". RX 5700XT forces the "Super" hand.

Otherwise they'd still be selling Pascals and STILL raking in the dough. Any competition is good. Although we all wish it was better.

The only cards that breaks the patten are bolded:

February 21, 2013 - GTX Titan (First Titan ever launched)
May 23, 2013 - GTX 780
May 30, 2013 - GTX 770
June 25, 2013 - GTX 760
November 7, 2013 - GTX 780 Ti

September 18, 2014 - GTX 970
September 18, 2014 - GTX 980
January 22, 2015 - GTX 960
March 17, 2015 - GTX Titan X (M)
June 1, 2015 - GTX 980 Ti

May 27, 2016 - GTX 1080
June 10, 2016 - GTX 1070
August 2, 2016 - GTX Titan X (P)
December 25, 2016 - GTX 1060
March 5, 2017 - GTX 1080 Ti

September 20, 2018 - RTX 2080
September 20, 2018 - RTX 2080 Ti (Nvidia launched the Ti at the same time as the None-Ti)
October 17, 2018 - RTX 2070
December 18, 2018 - RTX Titan
January 15, 2019 - RTX 2060 (Nvidia launched a x60 card last)

Look more like a SKU launch reshuffle that any thing timing related they look on track with previous generations.

Can you prove that Navi rumors forced an early RTX launch? Opening up G-Sync Compatible likely had more to do with future display connection standards and pressure from manufacturers.

Coming this late in to the game the 5700XT needs to resoundingly beat the standard 2070. Nvidia has just about signaled that it is nearing EOL.

Anything else would just be a gigantic "MEH".

It will, of course, sell to people who have Nvidia anxieties. Nice to have options.

I just hope AMD hasn’t already played all their cards. Navi seems to be a pretty significant architecture change and then there’s the move to 7nm. Nvidia technically still has to make both of those moves unless their first 7nm arch is just a Turing shrink.

I'm no expert here, but it's if revenue and sales of the RTX series is really down, it means that the RTX series may not have been properly priced. Yes, it's a free market, and nVidia is free to set whatever price they want. It's also fair game for consumers to complain, particularly if nVidia's pricing strategy has hurt both themselves and the consumer.

That said, I don't know if nVidia truly screwed up, since there are far more factors involved than pure revenue. But, some food for thought...

Revenue is right in line with pre-crypto sales. It's plain as day. If they counted on crypto continuing to play a role in increased sales then they fucked up. Otherwise, status quo.

Exactly as leaked by Videocardz. So no surprise here.

The main point is to get these cards to reviewers before the Navi reviews.

Now Navi will be compared to the Super Cards in those reviews, and won't looks quite as good.

So far, this round of marketing games is looking well played by NVidia.

We have to wait and see if there is an AMD answer.

So when Gamers Nexus says that the RTX 2070 super is near the RTX 2080 and for $500 while the RTX 2080 is $700 you think it amounts to well played?

To confuse the issue you spin it on AMD:

This is just baffling you been had by Nvidia for so many months and now because of AMD Navi (you will find no one believing this) Nvidia decides not sell overpriced hardware and sell less overpriced hardware (reminder that AMD did not release anything competing with RTX 2080 because Navi is a lot slower).

The only thing that Nvidia did right is that the pricing seems reasonable to anyone but current RTX 2070 owners which will feel quite bad about this and if it happens in a few months time the same as the RTX 2080 owners will feel when Nvidia decides to release a reasonably priced 2080.

I don't understand this sentiment that current RTX owners should be upset. Yes these cards were expensive, I have been lamenting that fact.

But new cards come out, with better performance for the same or less money. That's how things work, in every generation. It's been nine months, why would RTX owners be upset?
