Nvidia has released a fresh set of drivers optimized for Darksiders III. In addition, Nvidia provided an SLI profile for Artifact, fixed issues related to low refresh rates on 4K monitors, and fixed an issue with the built-in framerate limiter. As with every release, Nvidia pointed out a few known issues to watch out for, which you can see below:

Windows 10 Issues: [GeForce GTX 1080Ti]: Random DPC watchdog violation error when using multiple, GPUs on motherboards with PLX chips, [Firefox]: Cursor shows brief corruption when hovering on certain links in Firefox, Display corruption may occur on higher refresh rate DisplayPort monitors upon resume from sleep mode, [G-Sync]: Random flickering occurs when connecting G-sync monitor + non-G-Sync HDMI monitor with G-Sync enabled.

Can't find a mention of "built-in" frame rate limiter in the Nvidia control panel info. I think that is related to the Nvidia Inspector tool.

I thought it was built into the drivers. I haven't used inspector in awhile, as I just use RTSS or Fast Sync now, but IIRC Nvidia Inspector just tweaks Nvidia registry values and profiles to turn the limiter on/off.

A driver every week is annoying as fuck ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU HAVE TO GO IN AND MANUALLY CLEAN UP THEIR FUCKING GARBAGE SINCE THEY DON'T AUTOMATICALLY CLEAN UP THE 5 DIFFERENT SETS OF INSTALL FILES AFTER EXTRACTING THEM EACH FUCKING TIME.

DOWNLOAD THIS AND RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR AND SEE HOW MUCH GARBAGE THEY'VE LEFT YOU TO RECLAIM MANUALLY YOURSELF BECAUSE THEY'RE TOO STUPID TO WRITE CODE WITHIN THEIR INSTALL SOFTWARE TO CLEAN UP THEIR OWN FUCKING FILES. SO ANGRY.

I mean...yeah, it sucks, but it's not that hard to remove the files.

It does suck a bit more considering their driver package is well over half a gig now.

For the love of God man... Didn't nvidia once bitch about AMD releasing drivers too often? Seems like there's a new driver every other week from them.

Edit: Oh, I see this was already covered... lol

I don't think I've ever seen software for hardware that removes older versions of the driver?

probably talking about like in "ASUS GPU Tweak" where there is the "frame rate target" option. i'm pretty sure the other manufactures OC suites have a similar setting...?..

well i haven't been w/ amd on graphics for a while but seems like people on the red side i know are loving the new incremental updates from AMD. AMD stepping up there game for real, with the incremental updates. a year or two ago they were only putting out updates a few times a year, if you were lucky.

nvidia is starting mirror the image (disgustingly) of intel and microsoft to where they're pushing products to market that haven't been thoroughly tested! either that or they have been tested and the company doesn't give a crap they just want the F'n money!!?

Look man times are getting tough. Everything is going up in price, including tax. I'm still making the same thing. So my next purchase i'm doing my best to speak w/ my wallet and going w/ the company that at least has some respect left for not only the consumer but for advancing technology and the human lifestyle. (freesync anyone?)

i wouldn't buy a 2080 if your life depended on it. and vega64 = 1080 so go tell your brothers and go, and shout it from the mountain tops.. its time for a change!!! BUY AMD!!!!

I’d love to know if nGreedia know how to make some new driver features still? For over a gigabyte once unpacked, you’d think we wouldn’t need Windows anymore! And also the control panel is just horrendous, outdated, old fashioned and just blah.

I love how in order to get to the drivers on the GEForce page you have to go to select your specific GPU and then it directs you to the exact same bloated driver package as every other GPU. Hell, just a year or two I remember international hotfixed drivers being pushed out for my Titan Xp when the hotfix was for maxwell mobile GPU's.

Sorry man I had to go back to work today.

Try it and see if you have any of their old crap still residing in your driver store. This little program also works for other driver packages that you may not need anymore either.

Also check under:
C:\ProgramData\NVidia Corporation\Downloader\fuiwehgfuiewghwiueghwe
C:\Program FIles\NVidia Corporation\Installer2\Display.Driver{fdkqhjewfgkh234it}

And you'll see multiple copies of the same crap with different dates depending on how many driver installs you have done if you don't go in and delete them.

DPC watchdog error has been frustrating the hell out of me ans it isn't a new issue to be honest. Though it seems some games are more problematic that others. This error has really been ruining my experience with Tomb Raider and Kingdom Come. Very disappointing that it still is not fixed but at least it's acknowledged as a driver issue...

The most I've seen, after letting it go for around 6-12 months or so was 2-4 GB. That was about a year or two ago. Yeah, it gets pretty bad. These days I try to clean it up around every 90 days.

Yes, I did say software installed for hardware doesn't get cleaned out by any manufacturer normally? (though re-reading I can see how it could be interpreted as never found any software to do it)
I just manually clean out drivers I don't use from C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository, I don't see the need to install a program to do that?

C:\ProgramData\NVidia Corporation\Downloader < doesn't exist
C:\Program FIles\NVidia Corporation\Installer2< doesn't exist
Are you using some download installer to manage drivers? I just grab the install package from nvidia.com.

I do it thru launcher in NVidia GeForce Experience ...and I would've expected that they clean up everything after themselves.

AMD does this too. They both need to further test, but there are so many system configurations out there its understandable. Latest drivers I lost 4-way CFX support on all battlefield games, despite for years they were working fine on my setup. Now BF1 plays like a jittery mess. As for my Nvidia system, SLI doesn't work for BFV unless I enable it with Inspector.

Hate to bring this back the the topic of the driver release... But after installing these my clocks were really low and FPS was below 60 at 4k which is not normal for the card, Reverted back to the last release. It appears this one broke boosting or power management somehow.

Which card do you have?

edit:
The first several 4xx drivers caused issues for my Pascals, 1080TI and 1080. I've skipped them since and stuck with 399.24. At one point in the last few months I did read that MS did an API update right around the same time NV started with the 4xx drivers. This might be part of the problem.

that's EA/DICES fault.. the game uses the modified battlefront II frostbite engine, not the BF1 frostbite engine, so both Nvidia and AMD were given incorrect information which is why you can fix SLI by using the battlefront II profile, not sure if you can do the same with the AMD drivers since i've never run CFX.

Played a little with these last night. No performance issues thus far. Atmos has been acting up for the last few weeks, but I think that's Dolby's issue and not Nvidia's.

Anyone else notice they have an SLI profile for a collectable card game?

Their multi GPU team is really going for low hanging fruit.
This $20 game can run on your grandma's Facebook machine.

Display corruption may occur on higher refresh rate DisplayPort monitors upon resume from sleep mode

I've been getting this on my LG monitior that isn't even a high refresh monitor-if the screen goes off without the computer going to sleep, I get corrupted desktop about 90% of the time that requires a reboot.
