Destiny 2

Damn.. hit my level 20 cap. Decisions to be made on going all in for the one or all of the DLC things and see which one doesn't cheat me too much.

Forsaken comes with all the previous expansions now, so just get that if you want to continue. The next expansion drops in early December, so you'll have time to decide if you want to buy that after playing the Forsaken stuff for a few weeks.

Thunderlord is pretty broken. fun but broken specially in pvp. Its basically all I see. Anybody think this will get nerfed?

Not completely difficult to counter but it is easily the most versatile of power weapons in pvp/gambit.

I sure hope it doesn't get touched. It's fun and.. that's the point. So tired of every fun weapon being nerfed.

I may have binged a little too much on the game today.. made my way through the bulk of the story and sort of petering out my enthusiasm. Forsaken will take a backseat. It was a good run.

Sadly, I haven't used it in pvp or gambit yet because I happened to get 1k Voices the day after I got Thunderlord. I can't seem to bring myself to unequip the darn 1k in pvp because it's just too fun drawing lines of death all over the place. I will say that it seems like TL is what the vast majority of players are running this week for sure. Also of note, the TL is just as good/better for the Riven cheese strategy as cluster rockets while being safer to use (ie random dude won't walk in front of your rocket and kill you lol).

They wouldn't have to nerf the Thunderlord's stats in PvP - just lower the ammo. The only reason it's even viable in PvP is because they dish out quite a bit of ammo, while other heavy weapons get 1-2 shots each.

So I finished the campaign and did a couple of Strikes this weekend, but I'm still at around 250 item level. Not sure what the gear I'd get from the purple quests I have, but the only heroic quest I see has a recommended level of 320. Not sure of the best way to make that jump. More Strikes? Lost Sectors? Crucible?

So I can't really remember if Powerful Gear challenges are a thing yet at that level but when you open your map/director, do you see yellow/gold stars on a few things? If you hover over them (or in the case of Crucible/Vanguard click first, then hover over the options) you should see something like complete X number of X for a legendary reward.

Better yet, there might still be a Milestone system. When in your map/director, anything come up when you hold E? Do that stuff.

Destiny is notorious for not really explaining how to do things and most people rely on doing what you're doing now and asking online.

This past weekend everything was dropping for me and allowed me to up my LL to 598. A seed of light dropped, The two-tailed fox dropped at 600, Antaeus Wards dropped at 600, and the seed to start the Malfeasance questline finally dropped in Gambit. I just need to get 2 more gambit wins and then on to the last part of the Malfeasance quest line.https://www.reddit.com/r/CruciblePlaybook/comments/9jy0cy/antaeus_wards/

Just started that last step. Its gonna suck doing it solo. I've gone in with my Crooked Fang and pulled off an Army of One a few times, just gotta get lucky and do it again.

I have been running way too much Gambit so I am hoping the last part is not too difficult for me. I went on the gambit grind to get the Bygones and now I just need to finish about half of the very last rank so I can reset and get that gambit item. The Thunderlord has allowed me to get army of 1 a number of times now, much easier than using the sleeper simulant.

Do you by chance have the Geomag Stabilizers for Warlock? Holy shit man, with 4 stacks you easily do over 60% damage to the primeval in one cast of Chaos Reach. Its stupid good for melt.

Glad to see a good population of people still playing. I'll be doing my Not Forgotten grind next season for sure. Really hoping Bungie addresses some of the comp issues but I doubt it.

I swear those Gambit and Crucible quest steps are killing the game. Every time they force players to use a certain weapon or do a specific task in multiplayer, that's all anyone is focused on. It flat out ruins the game for everyone else, and it's not like you can blame the player for trying to complete the quest.
I really hope they stop doing that next season.

They're definitely thinking about it. I need to find the link (maybe it was the TWAB?) but there was talk of a bounty to kill Primeval Envoys. No one realizing you should focus them first is super irritating.

Things like that will actually be directly beneficial to iverall gameplay.

I have had to focus on only one character since the expansion was released so I went with Titan. I haven't even started the expansion on the other two. Right when the expansion hit, so did the new school year, so its back to work for me so I have much less time.

Geomag Chaos Reach vs Non Geo Mag is such a stupid difference. It was one of the first exotics I got in Forsaken and when I watched a fellow clan mate without them use Chaos I was sort of stunned like...that's it? wtf?

I went for quite a while without them so I'm shocked how much more useful Reach is now.

I don't really feel like Chaos Reach lasted that long with Geomags. At least that's my experience running it before I got Geomags. I was wondering how a buddy was so much more efficient and wrecking things with Chaos Reach until I read what the Geomags do.

Fortunately for me after getting my third seed and unlocking solar, grinding it out, I got a Phoenix Protocol. That's going to make that Well so much better.

Damn you! I want Phoenix Protocol so bad! You can almost have permanent Well going with that thing.

Yeah for the Geomags you need to be consistently doing damage to extend it.

Also, Phoenix Protocol is stupid good as well especially in something like Blind Well where you are constantly doing damage. However, in BW I prefer to roam killing Anathema's then supering the Servants.

That is.. when I even do BW.. being 600LL there really is no incentive to play it anymore annoyingly. I suppose the powerful drop for the bounty is a chance at an exotic but that's about it. It needs better rewards IMO.

I generally make sure to do the Dreaming City stuff just because the gear has a chance to roll enhanced perks. Everything else I stopped caring about for now.

That's true, some of the Enhanced perks are incredibly good. Stacking up on Transcendent Blessing mods too.

I hit 600LL and starting to feel less need to play it. At this point it's trying to get catalysts, getting done some crazy crucible/gambit quests, or trying to find a pickup for heroics and raids. I'm with an active bunch of folks spread across five, maybe even six, clans now so finding people isn't that tough. I just need to get off my rear and dedicate some time to The Last Wish. I'll go in blind like every other raid content I've done as well!

Phoenix Protocol is definitely a game changer for Well. At first I wondered why anyone would run this because it takes forever to recharge your super. Very helpful to the team to drop down a super well but in the back of my head I had always wondered if it'd just be more useful to be able to do some burst damage. Not anymore with Phoenix Protocol. I used to run arc since it was very good at single target and also clearing trash but now I run solar by default because who doesn't benefit from a Well. Especially when I can keep dropping them.

Also eating into my playtime is AC:Odyssey. Never played Origins or an AssCreed game before this (despite owning ACIV and everything before!) but I'm having fun slaughtering things in ancient Greece.

Yeah, its important to have a goal. I had a day or two these past few days where I thought, what am I working towards right now? I wasn't sure until I remembered the Seals. I'm just a bunch of Y1 armor away from getting Wayfarer so that's my goal right now.

Get Glimmer, buy planetary mats, turn it at planetary vendors for armor and hope I get unique stuff I never had before.

Once Forsaken hit i was stockpiling planetary mats for infusing but now, i'm not infusing much as everything I use normally is already 600LL. At this point, i'm just getting mats to spend at the various vendors.

I need that Wayfarer title! Also, I really should have been collecting this armor all through Y1...

For me it's less about acquiring gear (it's still part of it) and more about doing the end game content. The Leviathan raid was really fun and had some really annoying moments but overall I'm glad I did it. I'd still like to run the Leviathan raid over again because its been a while and I vaguely remember anything about it.

In that case, I'm trying to get together a group from this thread to run Leviathan normal this Friday. I know a couple people expressed interest. I'm off from work due to it being Black Friday and would be glad to help run people through it. I only have 10 clears so i'm no expert but we can get it done. I think the plan was try and group up Friday mid-morningish EST.

Anyone can add me on BNet: GuiltySpark#11607

If anyone IS an expert, by all means please come along lol

I'm hoping to still do the raid this Friday, but it could be dicey. Have some hardware incoming and I need to have my wife's PC finished that day :p
How long does Leviathan take assuming we don't absolutely crush it or suck too badly?

I know with a good Sherpa and a bunch of people who never ran it before, it took roughly an hour and 20 minutes. Now, i'm NOT a Sherpa by any means and we'll wipe a few times so I would budget 2 hours. If we go over that, we'll have to re-evaluate but It really shouldn't be that bad.

The second raid, or raid lair, Eater of Worlds is real short, especially on normal mode. Cleared it last night in 30 minutes then cleared Prestige mode in 45. God damn Prestige mode sucks with the loadout requirements.

We should probably start getting a group together and settle on a time. I'm free all day.

Shoot for 10AM EST? I'm just putting something out there, i'm completely open to adjusting that.

Tentative group:
  • Myself (GuiltySpark#11607)
  • Domingo

For some crazy reason I was thinking the raids took like 4 hours each. I can definitely accommodate a couple hours. 10AM EST should work fine for me as well. Amazon never shows up before mid afternoon anyway.

Ha, well Last Wish on a Sherpa run you definitely want to budget at least 4 hours if everyone is new to it. The Levi raids aren't as bad.

Really depends on the number of new people and how familiar they are with mmo raid mechanics in general. My first LW raid was with 2 friends that had never done it and 3 guys that had cleared it various amounts of times (from 2 to like 8). That run took us about 2 hours mostly due to just explaining the bosses. We wiped a couple of times on various bosses, but still got through everything. Subsequent runs have been about an hour for us.

Last night I did the last part of the Malfeasance quest and obtained the weapon ... however, I only had exotic heavy weapons so I wasn't even able to try it as I didn't have a purple to switch out for my thunderlord.

Is there a particular load-out I should be ready to use? I'm around LL 575 with a mishmash of gear that is mostly just whatever is good right now. If there are any particular weapons that are helpful, I have like 95% of the good weapons prior to Forsaken.

O for sure, a group with a few runs under their belt its 45min to an hour. I was just basing it on most of the Sherpa run threads on see suggesting everyone budget 4 hours. It's a safe amount based on some of the runs i've been on where everyone is new.

I would just have a primary and secondary that you're comfortable with. For the Gauntlet encounter, I would suggest a pulse or auto-rifle. Heavy, ideally we'd do all Whispers w/ Catalyst for the final encounter but I don't expect everyone to have that so DACRI, Sleeper, Thunderlord.. all work. Tractor Cannon also helps for the Pleasure Garden encounter so if you have that, keep that handy.

I generally go in with the Midnight Coup/IKELOS/Whisper combo and swap in my Inaugural Address pulse and Tractor Cannon depending on what we're doing.

Maybe even by the end of it, you'll have a Midnight Coup and Inaugural Address too! That pulse is still my go-to in Crucible.

I have the DARCI, Sleeper, and Tractor Cannon and I *think* my current best weapon is an auto-fire pulse, so I should be okay.

I haven't attempted the Levithian or EoW raids since the expansion dropped, I had run each ~20+ times. Have those old raids been retuned for 600LL as they were originally meant for 400LL (if I remember correctly) ? .. I mean can you just melt everything now with the increase in LL? Even if that is the case I wouldn't mind doing them again as I miss the glowing crown you could get by completing the raids on prestige.
