NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang says new GeForce "Its a long time from now".
Hopefully nVidia will at least use the extended time to release another leap in performance vs. sitting back and doing just enough to keep the crown.
If there was ever a time for AMD to somehow pull a rabbit out of their hat, now would be the time on the GPU side a bit as they have done on the CPU side of things.
Maybe both AMD and nVidia have re-thought 7nm and HBM on their (gaming cards) road maps with the goal to take this jump in early 2019?

Edit:
Toms hardware seems to think (based upon tweak town and talking AIB partners) July 30th is launch day of nVidia's new cards...

We could see the Founders Edition released at first, just like the GTX 1070/1080 in 2016, with custom cards in the months following. But then we come down to the price. Everything that I've heard about the next card is that it will be: faster than the GTX 1080 Ti more expensive than the GTX 1080 Ti might not be called GTX 1180 and might use different numbers think GTX 1185 or GTX 1190
