have anyone tried the dynatron A18 AM4 cooler ? also any one spotted the copper version of the cryorig C7 yet ?
Dynatron's A18 fan has 6000 rpm at full load, so its noise can be acceptable probably only in server applications (compared for example to the NH L9i it's 53.8 dB vs 23,6 dB ).
it's much to do with the way the sentry doesn't need any extra fans to draw in the air due to its thickness.Sentry is very interesting when it's not being used as a powerhouse and a space heater. Even in a atmospheric case you'd likely need more case fans to at least get the hot air out. With this case, though, I can sen the CPU fan to 20% until 40C and the GPU fans don't move at all until 60C. In my temp Air 240 case, though, I needed case fans and that sucked. The loudest thing now are the hard drives, but I'm gonna live with those for a while.
Sentry is super quiet, and I'll never understand overclocking and breaking this silence.

Yeah, Sentry is much more like a laptop than a cavernous tower pc. The cpu and gpu cooler fans directly draw in cool air. Just like a laptop. Much simpler than a full tower, no need to point case fans in any particular direction and hope fresh air reaches hot components.
Because I’m using a large CPU cooler,,,, I was able to modify the drive bracket using a Dremel tool, and install an SSD next to the PSU.

So here's the thing guys - as with GPU dimensions, there's no standard way cooler manufacturers test their hardware. This cooler might be designed for 1U rack server with a rack that has fully induced airflow and external cooling. It might be similar with T318
I've seen multi-cooler benchmark series where reviewers tested low profile coolers on open bench which is useless when you want to pack them into something small.
(Not so) fun fact here is that it might be what killed the original steam machine concept, and why there were mostly negative reviews on the performance. Precisely the CNPS2X might be the thing that killed it - it is promoted to handle 120W TDP CPU and is very quiet. It is actually one of the quietest coolers we've tested, but at the same time it's performance is nothing near handling the 120W inside Sentry nor when the case is open as in open bench test. I'm pretty sure that it's target TDP should be something like 25~35W.
So don't blindly go there believing the specs and question the test methodology on reviews as well if you see a really small cooler that boasts too good to be real performance.
I have used Innodisk VLP Ram, 7700K was delidded. What RAM are you using and how is the cooler? I solved all my heat Issues with the external fan and my 1080ti SC 2 runs at nice temps but without the fan there was not way the Cooler could handle the 7700k.
Cryorig c7 with 3d printed 120mm fan mount and noctua 120mm fan. Barely clears ram, still waiting on Cryorigs AM4 mounting kit but looking forward to seeing what the temps will be with my Ryzen 1700
Yea I have been waiting for the copper edition and i will definitely pick it up when it releases. Here is the link to the .thing files that i found, the person that made them also made 92mm version as well. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2313969Crafty work with the 3d printing. I was about to jump the gun on the C7 but still holding off due to the imminent launch of the C7 Copper; seems it could be a couple of weeks from launch now..
do you think it will be better than an lp53? if it turns out to be the case I'm jumping onto it immediatelyCrafty work with the 3d printing. I was about to jump the gun on the C7 but still holding off due to the imminent launch of the C7 Copper; seems it could be a couple of weeks from launch now..

Would also like to know! Need to downsize my current HTPC (MATX Silverstone case), and no other case suits my needs quite as wellAny news on retail sales of Sentry?

id be happier to spend more than 15--30 dollars...We are preparing something in the next few weeks, but we also have to do something with the transport. We are not happy if our supporters gets their packages after 6,7 or 9 weeks. We are in contact with different shipping companies, and we want to improve that field. From our knowledge, this will rise the costs of transport, but also it looks like people want to pay 15-30 dollars more if they will get their packege within 1-3 weeks than 1-2 months. Please be patient. When we will be ready, we will make an update through our newsletter system.

Any changes to the design? Like along the lines of hard mods (new/more holes) or soft mods (foam/plastic to guide hot air out of case)?
that is still completely acceptable in my book. I couldn't be happier with my sentry. At this point i am the envy of the entire dorm. It's not like 15-30 dollars but 15-30 dollars "more". Worldwide shipment is very expensive. Our current economic shipment to USA was something like $27 USD while for example Ghost S1 project has fast shipment for about $70 USD (correct me if I'm wrong). At this moment we are updating our current transport offers, because USD currenty is really low. It means, it we will get a fast shipment (3-10 days worldwide) below $50, it will be great.
i think at this point any c7 would perform better than a rusted one.....So I'm having some over heating issues with my Ryzen 3 1200. I had a Cryorig C7 but it rusted and got ruined while waiting to be installed. (I was living on St Croix during the hurricanes)
I currently have the default AMD cooler in the case(shaved off some material to make it fit) but I think my thermal paste application was pretty meh.
Was considering getting a Noctua L9a/i but I'm not really worried about sound, just cooling.
My question: Should I order another Cryorig C7 or should I wait for the copper C7 later this year?
Will the copper really provide that much better performance?
i think at this point any c7 would perform better than a rusted one.....
Haha, I do not intend on using the rusted one. I threw it away.
I am also looking into the ID-Cooling is-40v3 which seems similar to the C7. They're about the same price and TDP
in addition to that, some have found that its better to change the fan on a c7, you can get adapters or stick your own on it, there is some degree of performance/noise gain depending on the fan you use.The noctua is really a decent cooler for anything less than ~80W TDP. And quiet too.
Everything I've heard about ID-cooling suggests their performance claims are often way overstated. I've heard the cryorig is loud, but if you're ok with the noise of the C7 then get that. Or the NH-L9a. Either will be fine. Just get something that is known to work well to avoid more headaches.
If the copper c7 proves to be 10C better in cooling then just sell what ever cooler you have and get the copper one. No sense tolerating a bad cooler to wait for one that may or may not be any better than what you could have now.
Went on a business trip and have had the pleasure of being able to take this bad boy with me! This is a PC gamer's dream come true! Now to find a smaller monitor!
Still planning on taking more elegant build pictures soon, but thought I would share while it's still fresh.
Thanks Zaber team!
I travel just the same way!!! Though I found a USB powered 15" HDMI connected 1080p monitor on one of the Chinese websites (like Aliexpress) and it works great! If it works as planned coming up I'll have another treat for this thread!Went on a business trip and have had the pleasure of being able to take this bad boy with me!
