Player unknown Battlegrounds

Yeah, there is a difference between the guy laying in a house you think is empty, just waiting to blap whoever walks in with a double barrel shotgun, and playing defensively, which is trying to avoid being spotted and only engaging when it's on my terms.
 
Anyone else getting some kind of memory leak bug after like 20 to 30 min of play? My sound starts stuttering to the point that I have to shut my system down and restart. I've updated every driver I can and it still happens, also my FPS drops from like 120+ to 37 then back to 120.

AUGUST 9 - HARUSOL
Players,

Today we look at what we have changed and fixed in our week 20 patch.
This patch will be deployed to the Test Servers on Wednesday, August 9th, and if everything is stable, to the Live Servers on Thursday.

Client Optimization
  • Optimized game performance for 6-core or higher CPU
  • Optimized UI

Sound Effects
  • Decreased motorbike engine and vehicle skid sound volumes

Bug Fixes
  • Improved character animation when using throwables while prone
  • Fixed a bug that occasionally disabled voice chat on the Starting Island
  • Fixed a bug that caused your character to stand before crouching when revived
  • Fixed a bug that prevented players from rebinding Unarm to an alternate key
  • You can now see the mark from the character you are spectating on both the Mini Map and World Map
  • Fixed a visual bug with the scope while a character you are spectating is prone on a hill
  • Fixed a bug caused by changing "Graphics" - "Quality" - "Effects" from Settings
  • Improved the wrist positions on the steering wheel

Some good fixes in there. Hopefully the CPU optimizations are good, My Ryzen isn't getting pushed too hard.
 
My game is still crap. The stuttering intensifies over the course of 20 to 35 min and is completely repeatable. Game starts fine, pushing 120+ fps then after about 20 min it drops down to around 80fps. Then around 35 minutes it it cycles between 30 and 80 FPS until the game stutters to the point of being totally unplayable.

Before this latest patch it was totally fine...so this is something new. I am running a 6 core CPU I wonder if that has something to do with it?

wonder if that means more cpu physics stuff being added to the game in the future. would be cool to see buildings destructible.

i'd almost say it might be worth redownloading the game and seeing if that fixes it unless you've already done that. i remember going through lots of stupid crap like that with wows alpha/closed beta where 1 file wouldn't get replaced during an update for some reason and weird things like memory leaks or missing textures/audio would happen.

i doubt it's related to your cpu since those changes are only on the test client.

you could try adding -USEALLAVAILABLECORES to your launch options. like sirmonkey said I would reinstall. this weeks update comes out now so maybe that will fix it.

Got this game last week and im addicted. I played h1z1:koth a while back, but this is nothing like that turd. Still havent been #1 yet,but have got to #3 a few times and it gets so intense. Hopefully they continue adding in things and fixing the broken stuff.

I watched one of his games yesterday. he was at 50k viewers, with 3 wins in a row he said and he won the 4th I watched. I think I should get some headphones. I use earbuds to play cause it keeps my ears from getting hot. I had a crappy headset back in the day that I never liked and finally broke. I have trouble hearing foot steps. the ac running outside my window and noisy pc makes hearing things difficult. I have a desktop mic that rests on my keyboard so I dont necessarily need ones with a mic. from what I've read the surround sound headphones are a gimmick. this game only supports stereo.

Have not read anything, but supported or not my 5.1 headset is very directional. Can easily hear which direction cars and shots are coming from. Now sound can be interesting where suppressors and distance can make it sound like it is coming from the other way. I doubt they put echos and such in but at times it can sound like it.

My phillips 9500s are stereo and I can tell very easily which direction things are coming from.

I just ordered those earlier today lol. do you find them to block out sound? I read they don't at all, but that was one review. I hope they block out a little. I still like to hear things around me like if a cat is gonna eat my bird, but I want to block out some of the noise from my pc and ac outside the window.

this girl that plays with us sold hers for 90, I think it was brown. I dont know if the money can be turned into actual cash or does it stay in your steam account for steam purchases only?. I'm tempted to buy a few keys

i believe it stays in your steam wallet. my cousin sells and trades cards from games on steam to buy more games on steam. he's up to around 500 games and has only actually paid for about 10 of them with his own money.

I use them in my living room. One reason i bought these is so i can hear my kids or my wife. they do muffle the background but hard to explain. The game/audio is front and center and everything IRL is kinda in the background. Im completely happy with my purchase. I think these are exactly what your looking for. I like to be able to hear if one of my kids is crying in the middle of the night.

yeah i don't know.. i can say though my frame rate sucks now and lowering settings only makes my framerate worse, not better. with everything at high except shadows(very low) i get 55fps now(was ~78fps before) but if i set everything to low i get 44fps, dafuq o_O. my cpu usage is a little bit higher, sat around 13% prior to the patch now bounces between 22-29% but didn't pay attention to thread load since i only had coretemp open at the time and it doesn't show my SMT thread usage.

I dont see any difference in first person and my frame rate went up by 5 in the menu.
 
Completely crashed today twice, black screen, had to hard restart.

WTF?

980Ti and I could have sworn it said something like allocated video memory exceeded or some shit!? WTF? Anyone else!?
 
I crash all the time since the game was launched. Luckily they now introduced reconnect feature so I can reconnect in the middle of the game.
 
No hard/soft crashes using Nvidia 384.94 on Win 7 with GTX 960.

Occasional brief stutter due to another section of the island loading and the occasional odd, messed-up/flashing texture etc.

Considering this is the only game I have these issues with, I just chock it up to Early Access.

go stand behind some one you'll actually be looking at the back of their head instead of their neck.. also just crouch, prior to the patch your standing and crouch view were pretty much the same.. you can also stand at a window in a building and actually be able to shoot out of it while crouched instead of shooting the window trim. i've only played one game which was right after the patch, it's quite possible they reverted the changes since then but i don't have time to play right now since i just got off work.

yeah in menu my frame rate is 70 instead of switching between 60 and 65 but in game my frame rate is completely screwed up.

i've only had one hard crash and i'm pretty sure i caused it myself.. i'm using the 384.76 drivers since the latest drivers have stuttering issues with some of the games i play.

I will have to look closer at first person tonight then. does the camera height feel normal to you now? cause to me it feels too low and I played with about 7 other people last night in first person and no one mentioned any changes they noticed. I'm thinking they rolled it back cause theres still no mention of a patch. on twitter playerunknown said it would take at least 2 months for them to put the first person camera in the proper spot. that was posted when first person launched.

nope they haven't reverted anything, first person view is still working properly for me.

It's going to pass up DOTA 2 for popularity pretty soon that would be amazing peak 700,000+ players we could use some of those people to play Quake Champions or Dirty Bomb.

The game looks boring I know they are adding maps but just don't know what to think of the hype which is real now. I can't stand CSGO it's like corner camper flanker paradise it doesn't even come close what Quake from 1996 pulls off.
 
Quake and CS were never really the same thing. CSGO is all about communication with your team and basically knowing exactly what your teammate is gonna do before he does it.
