About a month ago, I built a sim chair. It came out pretty well and I shared it here and around and told my friends. Most replies were kind and positive. But one guy, innocently enough, asked "what does it move or something?"

I was crushed. No it did not. I started looking around and found, yes you can make these can move! So my next project was born.

This thing is made up of some power wheel chair motors, a drive shaft joint, and old exercise equipment. Motors are controlled by a sabertooth 2x32 controller and is driven by an arduino uno translating from simtools 2.1 feedback output.

I'm assuming it moves with whatever game motion you're playing?

Yes it collects pitch roll heave and surge data from in game and sends data to each motor as an axis. Pretty easy to tune actually. The software is very flexible and can handle lots of setups. It was created for professional commercial setups but they will give you a free diy licence if you post your build.

Thanks. I have been tuning it and it's real fun, just got my free licence today so I'll be able to use it on project cars and assetto corsa. Now I need to figure out the motion cancellation for the vive
 
Duuuuude, that's amazing. I really liked your first chair, but this one is just on another level. No room for something like that for me, unfortunately. Stuck mounting my wheel to my desk :/

yea but they start at like $2500. You can buy partial diy kits that comes with the essentials at a more reasonable price. But I built this one out of scrap medal. The electronics cost just under $200.
