Mass Effect: Andromeda

There is no guaranteed way to get an augment after the first one, unfortunately. You're at the mercy of RNG on whether they appear in a box or at a merchant.
I got another bio-converter augment today, no idea where it came from. Another battlefield assist module is the one I'd really like though.

I just hit level 60 this morning. I think I'll do more side missions to hit 61, then craft new tier 8 weapons and armor, and then go to Meridian. Is Meridian pretty much the end?

There is no new gear from 61-70. afaik you won't even get drops, either.
Crafted gear goes up to rank 10, rank 8 starts at 60-61. I have the rank 8 weapon blueprints at 60, but haven't unlocked the rank 8 armor yet-still using and just showing rank 7.

This is a known issue. Naturally, it seems like it should be an easy fix but BioWare did nothing to resolve the issue in the 1.05 patch.

You won't see any gear drops after level 61. There is an issue with rank VIII gear or rather the loot tables for it. You won't see any gear drops until level 71. At level 71, rank IX gear will start dropping. Rank X gear starts showing up at 81 and its the final tier of gear.

So, starting run three on Insanity- let's see if I can hit the level cap.

Maybe Bioware will patch in higher gear levels while I'm working on it- I won't be in a hurry, will be looking to do completionist stuff everywhere I can, see if I can actually clear out the quest log (broke Rokaar manifestos on the last one for sure, and I don't think we'll ever get a working Shield Augmentation thing for the Nomad).

Are rank 8-10 modes available from vendors, or do you have to keep using rank 7 mods?

No rank VIII mods will show up at the vendors. You won't find anything until level 71 when you start seeing rank IX mods.

Yeah. I am waiting on a performance patch. Running a 2500k and a 980. I need all the help I can get. That last patch tanked my fps at times. Well, pretty often sadly.

Anyone know how to jump to the 2nd platform from the 1st? Ive spent too much time trying.

Thanks, i had to switch to a biotic profile. Impossible on a combat one.

On this part, if you face away from the pillar towards the far wall, you'll see another similar platform that looks too far away. It's easy to reach and makes the jumps much easier. Jump across, then back on to the next tier - if that makes sense.

I've noticed that this game hits the CPU pretty hard. It loads at least eight threads or more pretty heavily. You might want to try resetting the settings and hitting the preset you normally use for quality. The game also doesn't seem to behave with anything forced in the NVIDIA control panel. A couple options changed in the menus between 1.04 and 1.05. In my case it was SLI related but I went from averaging 60k FPS with dips into the high teens on the Tempest to never dropping below 55FPS for any reason. I generally get 80-110FPS now.

The reality is, I don't think the Core i5 2500K has the muscle to handle this game very well.

Figured as much. I should have known about the nvidia issue from past frostbite games. Picky.

Yes. I do have to upgrade my 2500K. Planning on it in a few months. We have to pay for our vacation first. The one my wife wanted.....my wife!

Alright, I did a DPC latency investigation after looking into the possibilities, and found that disabling Nvidia's HDMI audio stuff seems to have helped significantly with audio popping. It's not perfect and the latency checker still shows marginal returns, but it's close enough.

Still surprised that this first got to the point of bothering me in Andromeda.

Have you tried using Message Signalled Interrupts for your gfx card and other devices?
(not all, some will hose windows booting. Dont do it on SATA controllers)
It has no effect on USB 2.0 controllers and cannot be enabled on many soundcards but the effect of enabling other devices may cure audio problems.

You only need to use MSIutil as Administrator.
Tick the box(es), click apply and reboot.

Best read the first post before you do it.

For the multiplayer guys, how are you doing on the various builds? I think I am about 80 items away from completing my rares. After that, I am going to stop. I think the URs have about a 8% drop rate in the 50k packs. with about 25 of them, that means... fuck that :)

Just hit the 200 crate cap on the app.
I think I'll work on converting my stock of crates to Research because idk why. Just trying to lvl my apex squads.

the apex stuff is a bit annoying. Seems like at best you can get about 4 good traits and the negatives can be unlimited. There are only about 60 points worth of missions per day, so ideally you would want whoever is <20 to be doing the silver/bronze before they expire. The gold you use your best character, or if they are apex you just run them. They have had some combotastic missions. They are easy if you have an annihilation field character, or just follow one to trigger combos.

I've had one of my teams running since launch and they only have one negative trait so I've lucked out. The missions are on 24-hour reset periods so you shouldn't have any problem beating them even with ~40% success chance. Spending points on them is a luxury you shouldn't afford since (I'm pretty sure) your account shares those points with regular MP items. So any points you spend on your APEX Squads are being taken away from your MP character.

As long as you can manage to finish all the missions before they reset, then the rest doesn't matter. New missions unlock every 2 or 3 hours and with all 6 APEX teams I usually only have 3 running simultaneously, at most. All are level 20 except my last one which is 14 or 15.

Hi guys,
So I am about to start my journey as a pathfinder and I have a little concern. Without giving away spoilers, can you guys tell me are there bugs or glitches that could cause a mission to become impossible to complete. I had this issue with Skyrim way back, after putting in some 30-40 hours and had to restart.
I haven't heard about being unable to complete the main quest.

But it does happen in some cases where some fetch quests and crafting quests get stuck and never shows as completed.

But to be safe do regular separate manual save points. I always do that in every game I play. At least at the end of each gaming session, I always create a separate manual save.

Thanks I do that too, so no glitchy side missions? Just need to load a save and try again?
I only had one glitchy quest. Where I had to do some tests and then report back to the one who gave the mission. But when I reported back the quest didn't disappear from the active quests.

Trying to decide if I have time to start a new game at all. I havent really played anything in months. I bought Persona 5 but I really want to play ME: Andromeda as well decisions decisions.

The mission "Better Crafting" has always broken for me and I've been unable to complete it as a result. It's one of a few crafting quests where you pick up an objective to craft a specific item. The others all work fine. I've been through the game all the way through before and most of it after the 1.05 patch and "Better Crafting" has broken both times. There is another quest that should spawn off "Herbal Entrepreneurs" that doesn't. You bring replacement UV lights to a couple of stoners and they give you a sample of a medicinal herb which Ryder remarks would help a sick man that you can encounter earlier on the planet Kadara. You will never get a quest log or a nav point for the rest of the quest but it seems clear that it's meant to be there. Since there is no quest log entry generated for this step, it may or may not bother you. Evidently the "Earning your Badge" quest on Voeld breaks for a lot of people but it's worked fine for me. On the plus side, these missions are a small portion of the available missions in the game.

Thanks I do that too, so no glitchy side missions? Just need to load a save and try again?

A save won't do you much good unless you create it before the mission starts or a point before you can break it. That's hard to do without knowing the game or what breaks in advance. In some cases its specific user actions that will break a quest. There is one called "Missing Scientists" or something like that. If you run into the Remnant Architect before you reach the last nav point you will break the quest and it will not allow you to complete it. It is easy enough to avoid unless you are randomly driving around on Voeld and encounter the architect. I know where to avoid it, but depending on your habits this is an easy quest to break.

The "Better Crafting" quest is on Voeld and comes up early. Just don't craft the item until they fix it. The rest of the quests I mentioned come up a lot later in the game.

Still working on uncommon mods... However, I'm not going to wait to finish them before moving on to expert packs. I did unlock a Piranha in my first special edition pack, though, and my CQC Infiltrator tears it up on Gold with it equipped.

By the way: the UR drop rate in expert packs is only 4%. It's doubled to 8% in premium packs, along with the price. The most efficient way of unlocking ultra rares is to probably still stick to the expert packs like in ME3.

I can't get the Earn Your Badge quest to finish. I've done the 3 steps and it says to talk to the guy on the Nexus, but when I talk to him I get no response. Oh well, I went ahead and finished the game without it. Awesome game in general and I liked the ending. I'm debating whether to start a completely new game from scratch, or doing a NG+. Actually I'll probably play ME1-3 again (it's been a couple of years) and wait for new dlc for ME:A.

This game is so huge, I'm actually enjoying my third playthrough (second NG+). Like the original trilogy, increasing the difficulty also helps- playing the first time on normal was almost too easy, and now I'm at level 103 playing insanity :D.

Ha ha... Yes. I broke maybe a dozen quests in my playthrough that all required a reload. Nothing major, usually just a few minutes of lost time.
I ended the game with 2 or 3 quests still in my log which couldn't be turned in at all, one of them is broken for everyone and the others I broke because I did out of order.

Better Crafting is the beer quest from the Vortex; I've never had a problem with it.

Are you talking about Nomad Shield Crafting? I've never been able to get that one to complete.

I played on Normal. I like a reasonable challenge, but that was actually too easy, as you said. I pretty much could never die unless I missed a jump...at least once I got some levels and decent armor. I think I was level 68 when I finished, so I'd probably hit 100 fairly early in a NG+ play through. Since gear doesn't progress past rank 10, and there's nothing left in the skill trees that I still need, I'm just not sure how NG+ would be. Companions have been maxed for quite awhile already. I dumped enough points into Combat to get Soldier to 6, and I don't think it goes past that, and I've still got points unused. Is NG+ leveling noticeably slower than just starting over?

It's about the same. If it's slower, I haven't really noticed it. I hit 61 or 63 by the end of the first play through. I'm probably 60% or more through the NG+ now and I'm at level 97.

The first few hours of Insanity are a real PITA but around levels 10-20 it becomes a cakewalk. Play on Hardcore, minimum.

It was the same for me. I actually talked to the guy but the quest still wouldn't go away, and the guy is still there but I can no longer talk to him.

That was the only quest that I actually wanted to finish but couldn't. The rest of the quests I didn't finish I didn't even have an inclination to. Like the rookar manifestos, and the unearthed quest, and a few other fetch quests.

I agree, on normal the game is way too easy. And since the game doesn't even count jumping off into an abyss as dying the only way to die on normal is if you actually try to die. I didn't get killed even when I was playing absolutely recklessly. Insanity is a much more realistic experience where you have to use cover as you would in real life. At least on lower levels. I'm not even on level 5 yet.

You lose a little bit of health and your shields jumping off crap. This can kill you if you are on a planet where you need life support and it runs out. For the most part though, it is pretty tough to get killed unless you just pull a huge group of Remnant in a vault or something and go AFK.

There are more of those things to pick up in the "Unearthed" quest than you need on Havarl. The manifestos are pretty easy to. A quick Google search will show you the locations and almost all of them are in places you would go anyway.
