Star Wars™ Empire At War: Gold Pack

Hmm, it is a little different from the last one with Shadows of the empire, Rouge Squadron, and Rebel Assult 1-2... pack is fun, shadows was great on the N64 ;) If anyone buys and doesn't want that let me know.

Are these 1st person or 3rd person?

They are a mixture. Jedi Outcast was 1st or 3rd for example, while Battlefront II, KOTOR and the Force Unleashed games were 3rd, if I recall correctly. Empire at War is a RTS.

Pricing seems high considering the age of these games...decent bundle overall. I agree that Republic Commando would have been a good add, that game is legit.

I've never played x-wing vs tie-fighter. *hangs head in shame.*

Except when you start getting to the Force Unleashed tier. Those are still going for nearly $20 on Steam with occasional deep discount sales.

I kinda wanna buy this....

Also as someone who owns a n64 partially for the Star Wars games, I was totally unaware that Shadows of the Empire exists on PC. Was that a release PC game?

Encase I wasn't the only one interested.

12 days left. I wanna get this just for the collection but there's no way I'll play these as like everyone with a backlog, I may never get around to it.

you owe it to yourself to at least play Tie Fighter - consistently on the top games list, its not in this bundle but I would go buy it and play it..

Wish it had Republic Commando.

The original Star Wars humble bundle included Republic Commando. I'm not sure if #2 did as well, I didn't buy it because I had 95% of the content from the first one. There are some pretty awesome Star Wars games, but at the very top of the list IMO is Republic Commando. I'd rather play it than the new Battlefront even. I played it through several times from start to finish and every now and then I get the urge to do so again. My only wish is it had achievements.

As for this bundle, I'm going to pass again as I did with SW humble bundle #2. Just not enough new games to make it worthwhile for me. There are four I don't have, but they are so very old and not very good. May the force be with my wallet, at least this time.

I wouldn't agree with that.. I played RC again just recently and I much prefer the new battlefront, RC was fun and all..

My only wish is that it had co-op. I know there is a mod for it but I'd like to have native support. I'd pay full price for a remastered HD version with co-op. It really makes no sense that they didn't include it, being a squad-based game and all.

I can understand. Battlefront is a true multiplayer game, whereas RC only has a deathmatch / battle arena mode. And obviously the graphics are much improved, given how many years newer it is. On the side of RC, the soundtrack is one of the best original scores every made for a video game, and the campaign is pretty stellar even if it is not as log as some would like.

What makes this easy for me, though, is the lack of any kind of real single player mode for Battlefront. I do like multiplayer games (currently going through a big CS:GO phase) but I prefer games with a solid single player campaign in general. Multiplayer games are too reliant on having a healthy player base, so they generally don't last that long, and are prone to hackers and other nuisances. To make this last point - RC is 12 years old now and just as enjoyable as the day it came out. In 10 more years the only Battlefront games anyone will be playing will be against bots.

Man that would be killer! Ideally you'd have up to 4 players in co-op. Some of the chapters would be really hard though. Right now I get through some spots by staying under cover and ordering my team around. They seem to take more damage before going down, not to mention limitless ammo. But still, I'd gladly take on the challenge if I could play co-op with friends. With all of the remastered games being released now, someone should jump on this idea.

Are the Force unleashed games decent? Looking to buy this bundle for the single player games.

Thanks OP. I went ahead and did the $14 thing. I ended up having about 4 of the games already, mostly did it for the X-Wing "on rails" games....should be easy enough for my small child to play (even though it was advanced when I bought them new 20 years ago).

I remember they included a pc demo of the first two levels with the Microsoft Force Feedback Pro joystick. Flying a snowspeeder with the force feedback was cool, but it didn't really make sense once you got to the first person shooter parts.

Will the flight sims work on a modern OS? Tried installing my old copy of XWA a bit of a while back and there were problems with the NV driver.
