How did you get your gear score up so high so fast?

i've ran Falcon Lost quite a bit on my main character and i saved some of the gear set pieces i didn't need. so once i hit 30 with my alt character it was just a matter of equipping the appropriate gear.

Exactly. 3 of my 4 lvl 30"s are GS 186 or higher because of this. I've a 209, a 204, a 197 and the 186, each specializing in a different gear set. They are all pack mules right now, to help clear out my stash.

I guess either all the bans have expired or the number of players have increased due to schools starting to let out for the summer because for the last 3 days in the DZ I haven't been able to avoid 4 player rogue teams to save my life! They all seem to take me down in one or two shots and it's just not fun anymore; wish I could get a refund on my season pass.

rogue teams do not imply cheating/bans unless you see them doing something obvious. Your complaint is probably more towards the flawed nature of the game. I have stopped playing until they fix some of the problems with progression.

OK rogue teams aren't proof of anything but with 75K health and 58.5% armor and I am getting one shot by someone it sure feels like someone is cheating.

You'll have to grind PvE like the Lexington/Russian missions on Challenging, as well as the Incursion to get the gear that will help the next grind, DZ 75. By that time you should be able to afford the blueprints at that rank to get the chance to get decent weapons to match.

So, grind PvE, grind PvP, then grind to get materials.

... glhf!

(Personally I've taken a bit of a break, DOOM is pretty great.)

I mostly play DZ. I haven't seen any cheaters lately so I'm glad they improved that.

If you are going solo you really have to avoid any groups. Run the scrambler pulse to stay concealed, otherwise you are an easy target.

Run with a group, or matchmake for one. I always do this and most of the time we cruise thru DZ6 without issue. If you are not that high of gear score, this will help you immensely collecting XP and materials. Try to help the squad by running a skill build and hang in the back if you're feeling squishy or not a high damage dealer.

So many different ways to play.

Sadly I don't have the means to run Challenging missions all my friends that had this game quit playing and running Hard missions is a waste of time even with 203% scavenging. I hope the season pass puts out more single player content or the 1.2 patch does a little more to help solo players gear up or I'll be calling it quits myself.

scavenging is a completely useless stat, it increases the chance for items dropped by non-named enemies to be a higher rarity (ie blue -> purple).

you can one-shot someone with max armor and 100K hp with a deadly brutal 204 M1A right now. that could be what you're seeing. or, it could be lag and someone shot the shit out of you and all of the bullets hit you in the next tick so it seems like you're dying in one hit to someone with an SMG.

if anyone hasn't done it yet, i highly recommend blocking chinese and australian servers. makes the game much more enjoyable.

1.2 Trailer released. Some interesting stuff, though we'll have to see how it actually plays:

Also, home from my vacation as of today, so I should be ingame more often.

oh wow, they are making it so that a player can cut the rope of an extraction. talk about making a already bad problem worse

It sounds like they are improving the drops rates in the PvE areas as well as adding High Vale Target missions in PvE as well. With the rope cutting I will most likely never enter the DZ ever again.

nice, looks like some good stuff coming with new weapons and gear sets.

Yeah I'm not sure why it seems they're rewarding people for turning rogue when that's been a primary complaint. Even with the new tiers, it won't help solve real issues with the DZ - huge disparities in GS and being outnumbered. There was almost no issue at all with extraction, yet this is the area they decided to "improve."

I'll have to think about it, but the initial reaction to rope cutting is negative.

My first impression of rope cutting was not good either. I'll wait and judge the actual experience, but my guess is people will just wait until the last few seconds of extraction to go to the rope now. The extraction zone will become a more stressful dance for a longer period of time. I'm sure it will end up getting shaped some by player feedback, but only time will tell.

I like most the other additions however, provided they are executed correctly.

Some good news from State of the Game

  • Stash in DZ Safe Houses
  • If fired apon while cutting rope or opening Supply Drop, interaction resets or takes longer to prevent players from just popping Survivor Link and running in
  • Stash getting bigger, but not in time for 1.2

More later when the Special Event happens.

Special Event Highlights:

Predators Mark sounds like the only new Gear Set to pique my interest, but we'll see. Otherwise I like that they are making more use of the PvE area and offering 209-240 loot through more channels (not to mention a lot more of it).

I'm eager to try out 201+ DZ05 & 06, but I think this area is going to get ridiculously crowded quickly. Now that Stash can be found at your nearest Checkpoint, routes are going to be dry more often then not. The fight for who gets the Boss will get real.

Busy with Doom right now, then I'll have about 10 days before Blood and Wine (W3) becomes a distraction. Then Mankind Divided... so who knows what my attendance is going to look like going forward. Yikes. ;)

If they'd fix the fucking game breaking bugs I'd really like the game. Between the crashing and all the mission bugs I can't even enjoy the game. They should work on fixing everything before adding new content.

4 more gearsets. so if you farm your chance to get preferred gear drops from 1/4 to 1/8... actually much worse than that, for a specific item 1/24 to 1/48 lol

at least they did something about the divtech.

And the guy cutting the rope on the video demonstrates the problem. People were shooting him but he was still able to do it. PvP broke much?

I thought that at first too, but he was able to do it because they let him for the sake of demonstration. They said as much in the SE. If you watch carefully, they stop shooting him right before he would have gone down. He was actually a part of their squad earlier, he left for the sake of that video.

Regardless, it all remains to be seen. I'm reserving judgement until I can play it, experience it myself.

Marco did a pretty good vid on "Toughness" and why that extra 10% Armor increase will be a big deal.

Is it worth buying that 204 Custom M44 Bp from the dark zone, or just wait and see if they introduce more gear set bps like they did before?

The Division Update 1.2: Conflict – Patch Notes
24/05/2016 06:31 PM

NEW FEATURES
New Incursion: Clear Sky

  • Clear Sky is a new Incursion mission available in Columbus Circle.
  • You must be level 30.
  • The encounter is balanced for a team of 4 players outfitted with high level gear.
  • Hard Mode is available on May 24 when the update is released.
  • Challenge Mode will be made available the week after update 1.2 launches.
New Gear Sets

Four new gear sets have been added.

  • Final Measure - Stand your ground by defusing hostile grenades with this powerful defensive set.
    • 2 pieces: +50% Exotic Damage Resilience
    • 3 pieces: +15% Protection from Elites
    • 4 pieces: When throwing a grenade, gain the defuse buff. When in range of a hostile grenade, the buff is consumed and defuses the grenade as well as gives you a grenade.
  • Hunter's Faith - Duel your enemies at range and come out on top with this survival focused marksman set.
    • 2 pieces: +20% Marksman Rifle Critical Hit Damage
    • 3 pieces: +20% Damage to elites
    • 4 pieces: Hitting an enemy with a bullet grants you temporary armor. The further your shot, the more armor is awarded. The armor disappears after one bullet hits you.
  • Lone Star - Never reload your weapons again with this game changing utility set.
    • 2 pieces: +100% Ammo capacity
    • 3 pieces: +1000 LMG Damage, +1000 Shotgun Damage
    • 4 pieces: When the weapon is holstered, it regains full ammo.
  • Predator's Mark - Make your enemies bleed with this powerful offensive set.
    • 2 pieces: +20% Optimal Range
    • 3 pieces: +800 Assault Rifle damage, +700 Pistol Damage
    • 4 pieces: Hit 10 shots without switching target to make the target bleed for 100% of damage already done by those bullets.
High-Value Targets & Search and Destroy missions

  • At level 30, complete all Encounters and Side Missions in a named area to get access to the “Search and Destroy” missions in the Safe House.
  • Receive Target Intel as a reward for completing Search and Destroy missions.
  • Bring Target Intel to HVT officers at the Base of Operations to locate High Value Targets.
  • Complete daily and weekly High Value Target missions for end game rewards.
Hijack Extractions

  • When a player attaches a bag to the extraction rope, another player now has the ability to sever the rope.
  • Severing the rope will cause all extraction bags to fall to the ground, scattering their contents as a public loot drop.
  • Be careful, hijacking an extraction will instantly mark you as Rogue!
Sealed Cache

  • Named and Elite enemies in the Dark Zone can now drop Sealed Caches that contain mystery items.
  • Sealed Caches need to be extracted before they can be opened, just like regular loot drops.
  • There are four qualities of Sealed Cache:
    • Specialized
    • Superior
    • High End
    • Gear Set.
Player Stash in Dark Zone Checkpoints

  • Player stashes are now available in every Dark Zone checkpoint.
  • Checkpoints stashes eliminate the need for fast travel to your Base of Operations to collect your extracted loot!
ISAC Assignments

  • The ISAC Assignment is a new assignment type included in the map overview.
  • The ISAC Assignment will be available to players at level 30.
  • Every week a new ISAC Assignment will be available to the player.
  • The ISAC Assignment will reward players with exclusive vanity items.
General

  • Added new high-end named weapons in the game.
    • Hungry Hog: M60 Light Machinegun
    • Centurion: M1911 Pistol
    • Medved: SAIGA12 Shotgun
    • Historian: M1A Marksman Rifle
    • (Showstopper - AA12 Shotgun): Please note that while the Showstopper will be implemented in the game with this update, it will not be acquirable in-game until update 1.3
  • The Historian high-end marksman rifle is now available.
  • Added a 201+ Gear Score bracket for highly leveled players.
GAME CHANGES
GAMEPLAY

  • When a player is at max level, matchmaking for Hard and Challenge mode will now only seek players that are Level 30.
  • Armor damage mitigation cap has been increased to 75%.
  • Improved weapon blind fire and overall handling while in cover.
  • Reduced damages from level 34 NPCs using Shotguns and Sniper rifles.
  • Gear Score will now only take into account the equipped weapon with the highest Gear Score, and discard the other two. This will prevent players from equipping low quality weapons to voluntarily reduce their Gear Score.
  • Increased Gear Score requirement of Falcon Lost to better represent its difficulty (note that the difficulty of this Incursion hasn’t changed)
    • Hard Mode: Gear Score 160
    • Challenge Mode: Gear Score 180
UI

  • In the Overview of the Inventory, the Health stat above Stamina has been replaced with Toughness. This is a combination of Health and Armor. The player’s health pool will still be visible in the Character page and Stamina still increases Health.
  • The Phoenix credit cap has been increased from 1000 to 2000 credits.
  • Shooting a player while they are interacting with an object will cause the timer to push back. (such as opening a supply crate or hijacking an extraction)
  • Players now have a voice chat indicator in the game UI to see if their own VOIP works.
  • The Special Gear Vendor has been renamed Special Equipment Vendor.
ITEMS

  • The Sentry’s Call 4 pieces talent will now only apply to semi-automatic weapons (pistols, shotguns, and marksman rifles).
  • The Second bonus on Performance Mods have been significantly improved.

Is it worth buying that 204 Custom M44 Bp from the dark zone, or just wait and see if they introduce more gear set bps like they did before?
Difficult to say - custom M44 still isn't the best marksman rifle right?

You mean we actually have to use 'cover' now in DZ5-6? That's why the m44 sounds nice. I'll run pulse with smart cover on a skill build. Who else is in tomorrow?

I'm nowhere near high level play as I've not put a lot of time into it, but... I wonder if they'll be improving the Chat UI anytime soon? That's one thing that just seems annoying. Where are the multiple chat channels per area? Where are the opt-in Global channels? Setting things up like a MMO with a General in each area, an opt in Global General of sorts, Global Trade and LFG, and then specialty channels in certain areas such as Dark Zone channel groups (ie DZ General for all the DZs in addition to the Generals for each area, a DZ-wide "DZ Agent" and "DZ Rogue" channel that you are added into depending on your PVP status to help coordinate etc..) would help a lot. Its hard to communicate at all when you have basically one channel, constantly spammed in multiple languages, scrolling so fast it is near impossible to have any sort of community. It would be really disappointing if this is yet another title that is going to lack decent chat options because it was also released on consoles...

lol, chat is a miniscule problem compared to all the other issues this game has

I totally forgot about the whole chat window problems. I turned that global chat option off a long time ago

I only use it for group chat and just seeing what everyone in the group picks up off the ground. Did you not see that long list of bugfixes they have planned for this patch? I'm ok with them pushing the chat window spam problem to the backburner.

Here's some quick info and pics from DZ6. The fights are a lot more real and fun now up in the higher zones. I did a quick matchmake and managed an extraction with no trouble, however I did die once and got downed about 3 times. Got 3 204 weapons, 1 204 Vest and a sealed cache.

Also, I can confirm you can do the Lone Star ammo trick like we do with that police backpack. Equip 2 Lone Star items and then restock. 100% ammo capacity, which is good, because you need more ammo to take down those 34s in zone 6.

One final thing. You know those big flamethrowers at the Q building? Prepare to shit yourself when you come across those guys. That's where I died at. He took out 3 of us. Like we all thought, Midtown, Q, and The Pit are all tough battles once again.

I keep an M44 around for PvP only. Using explosive rounds with the M44 just wrecks stuff fast, which is a requirement in PvP for sure. For all PvE the M1A is still king. In fact it looks like "Capable" may replace "Balanced" for Tech builds.

What I forgot to mention was I grinded all weekend for dz credits for the m44 BP, and the very first drop I got in the new DZ was of course a 204 custom m44.

I laughed out loud. And, no I didn't buy the BP.

LOL! Figures, huh. Does it have some nice talents? I'd like to get one with Brutal and Toxic, maybe one of the health regen talents. If not I'd still buy the BP.

...And the 214 Stamina Gloves! Savage is still a kick arse Talent!

Also, evidence suggests the new Incursion was once a story-line mission that got repurposed. If you listen during the cut scene afterwards, Faye directs you to go kill Bliss now. Bliss, (SPOILERS) who you already killed in the last PvE mission.

One of the devs replied on Reddit and said that the cutscene was always in the game, but was triggered by the completion of the Clear Sky incursion. LOL like it even matters.

The double UI bug was awful and I'm surprised I was able to play for as long as I did. I entered the settings menu and couldn't get out of it - Esc, B on the controller, everything. I Alt+F4 and then saw it was getting late so that's where I went.

This game, just makes you shake your head. I was telling Frak: it's like one step forward, two steps back, constantly.

Yeah we were all getting that double/overlay UI bug. Extremely annoying. Frrak was saying if you joined on someone else's instance then it happens. Simple fix is to just log out, then log back in. Joined back up on him, and never had a problem with that bug after you left Ghost. That needs a fix ASAP.

Also another thing, I don't know why I didn't think of this earlier:

Equip Police Backpack: 75% ammo
Equip Chest w/ ~40% ammo
Equip any 2 other Lone Star: 100% ammo

Restock with around +215% ammo, then change back to your normal set.

I also liked doing the HVT/S&D missions. Frrak, arr4ws, and myself did the 40 Intel guy Fallon last night, and it was very fun fighting again in different parts of Manhattan. It was actually a decent battle. You probably want at least a couple guys for that. I managed to get 3 Gear Set items, and the first 240 item, which was nice. After last night, I now have 4 Lone Star items, and might try them out later.
