The Division - officially announced for PC!

What time are you guys normally playing at? I'm on EST and normally start to play around 7-8PM. I'm getting annoyed I keep getting kicked from random groups in the Dark Zone, so I've been doing S&D missions for HVT. I think my gear score is 194.

up with a group last night, a guy had a tech build. His sticky bomb was absolutely wreaking shit. I mean like bosses with 3/4ths armor, dead. I guess that was with the damage stacking. I have gotten the 4 tech pieces but too damn weak. I also have a couple of pieces for the 50% exotic damage resistance - including an additional 25% fire. That is some strong shit. Very recommended now in the new game. I just need to get my damage up. For shit now :)

We are usually on around that time mostly doing Dark Zone. What's been nice is the option to share items, so if you guys are under geared we've been giving up our 'crappy' 240 gear items.

So the past couple nights I've been looking for a good Tacticians vest, or any Tacticians gear for that matter. I'd gladly trade for those. I know everybody wants strikers or sentrys now. Provided it's no god roll gear I'll trade it.

5-6pm PST, usually I do my daily hard missions first and then try to MM for challenging.

Great! just want to I wanted to see. :) If I ever come across any Tacticians stuff you can have it.

I've been concentrating of maintaining a higher skill power, which has been suitable since I never go into the DZ (nobody to group with + unsuccessful matchmaking).

As of now (can't post links) I have:

186 GS - 3 piece Tactician - 61% Armor

129,594 DPS @ 2220 Firearms

186,330 Tougness @ 2379 Stamina

29,644 Skill Power @ 1659 Electronics

The major gripe I have is that I wish weapon talents that are focused on Skills were based on Skill Power not Electronics or that Tactician gear boosted Electronics score rather than just adding to Skill Power. Reason being is I have a Vector that would complement a high skill power but I lack electronics to enable the talents.

Welcome aboard Agent. For where you are at, that is actually a nice setup. I'd say you've done well. As far as your Vector, if you have the Blueprint, try for a similar roll, but with that talent as the last one. Which ever talent rolls as the last one is alway free, it has no requirements.

I may be away for a few days, but feel free to add me. Jmaker and I are on almost every night. We can do some HVT's with you, or take you into the upper DZ where you can gear up quickly. Up to you however.

--

I will add you guys later on today but warning I have a low gear score which is only 176!

95k DPS(163 m4 is why its so low) 217k toughness and 10k skill

Right now I'm just doing S&D missions to gather intel points for HVT/HRT group missions

Uplay: Agent_BauerCTU

Edit: I do have a mic but don't talk much.

Your GS doesn't bother us. So long as the other 3 in the group are geared for it, we'll gladly escort you through the DZ long enough to help you "catch up", for lack of a better way to put it. Also, not all of us have mics or talk much either. Not a concern. We just like a good group of laid back players that cooperate with each other, and don't steal each other's stuff if one goes down.

Here's what Im running so far, its sort of a mess. Mostly equipping what greens I have to boost my gear score.

Ubisoft name is J3ST3RM4A3

It's a start. The more you can find pieces of the same set, the more bonuses you'll see. Sentry + Striker is good for damage. Tachticians + Final Measure seems popular atm. Personally I run 4 Striker and 2 Sentry. I went from GS 208 to 228 (max GS right now) in 3 evenings of farming DZ05-05 in the 201+bracket. My Toughness went from 260 to 430 and my DPS is roughly 80k higher (without accuracy and ROF mods to inflate the stat). So imo, the upper DZ in 201+ is currently the fastest place to gear up. Dangerous, but worth it.

On a side note, I may be scarce the next few days. Witcher 3 Blood and Wine is out. ;)

Sounds good. I'm BurningBeard484 on Uplay.

I actually just got a second Sentry piece so now I have a more "Assaulty" setup I can switch to. I've been doing the 15 Intel Credits daily HVT's and it's a grind dealing light damage when you are on a time limit. It's 174k DPS, 171k Stamina & 21k Skill Power but with only 55% Armor (bad, I know).

I thought of one thing last night for this game that I thought would be kind of cool.

A possible Group vs. Group Arena where you bet on weapons. It would be where every weapon you craft you get to name it, paint it and even put an emblem on it like what you can do in BF4. This will add some uniqueness to the game and the possibility of some weapons becoming infamous.

"Holy balls, I just won the C**T SLAMMER 3000!"

"You lucky bastard..."

I have an idea for how it all would play out/equate but to relinquish that would be too long-winded.

Of course any new implementation of PvP would require Ubi/Massive to crack down harder on hackers/cheaters.

"Dammnit! I just lost the C**T SLAMMER 3000 to some player named ||||||J||||||III||||||!"

"You dumb bastard..."

Had my loot jacked last night during extraction, group came in right as the bird was about to leave. The group I was with tried our best however this other team were much higher level.

Lost a green cache and a single green item. I told the group we were being followed but they didn't care.

Need to start playing with more folks on here, I only see a few on at a time anymore.

Lets extract.
But there is a team already up there extracting.
Should be fine.
Guess what happened when they finished.

Hey, there is a team of 4 approaching
We can take them
We couldn't

Hey, I am solo, can I run with you guys?
-> Turns out to be scout for rougue crew

I am pretty much like fuck all other people you see in the game.
Stupid shit like this can easily be avoided

Well damn, did daily challenge mission for the first time since new patch. They upped difficulty right? With a full group we kind of struggled, I had to defib A LOT! And it was all totally un-worth it. Got garbage HE gear meanwhile I got 2 GS pieces doing solo HVT 10. One of the GS was a Striker backpack that gets my armor to 67%. I'll stick to HVT's over daily challenge missions.

boom! a pretty decent cache from DZ06 that's been sitting in my stash since saturday night. need one more Final Measure piece to compliment my 4 piece tactician's build.

I have been lurking this thread for a while and thought I would throw my name into the hat.

nice, i sent you a friend request. i'm usually on at the same time on Friday nights. my 155k/285k/33k tactician's build would compliment your build well.

added you to my friends list. I was able to increase my toughness and get to 75% armor with a few gear piece changes and moving some mods around. Also found a nice m1a with +169 brutal/deadly and competent(I don't have enough electronics to get this perk however) from DZ06 a few nights ago.

problem with the game is that all outfits look the same. ugly. because of that I have stopped wearing coats and hats. For your armor, I think about 5433 gets you to the cap, so you don't want to pass that by too much.

i dont know how you guys are getting so good stats. Mine sucks. My dps is 100k and toughness 150k.

ive been farming DZ for the week and im not getting better gear.

what player bracket and which zone do you farm? the best stuff is going to be in 201+ in zones 5-6
there are lots of gearset drops, even the easy daily kill targets will get you 2 pieces.
once you get some with a set bonus you can look to improve on that.

yes I farm in dz05-dz06 for the best stuff. Also, the supply drops are worth going after. I have had multiple Green or solid gold items drop from them. Plus you get whatever drops from the named boss guarding the drop.

Looking for a group to do some farming with. Took a break from the game and just started back up

Finding decent gear is only part of the battle, understanding how to piece them together is equally as important. It helps to understand the different Gear Set bonuses, and what the good "Major Attributes" are on each piece of gear. Here are a few tips that might help you know what pieces to keep and what to sell / deconstruct:

  • Each piece of Gear has set number of Major Attributes, these include the Ability they buff (Firearms, Stamina & Tech) and 2-3 "Attributes" such as Armor, Damage to Elites, Exotic Damage Resilience (EDR), etc. Ideally, you want 2 of the 3 attributes to be what you want them to be before any Recalibration. So if you're looking for Stamina, Armor and a Mod Slot, keep the pieces that have at least 2 of those, so you can use the Recalibration Station to reroll the one that is wrong, or just needing a higher %.
  • You always want Armor on your Vest and Holster, becasue these two items do not offer Criticial Hit Chance (CHC) or Crit Hit Damage (CHD). Plus the Vest offers that highest available amount of Armor of any of your Gear pieces.
  • Every other piece of Gear you will want either Armor, CHC, CHD or EDR, with Minor Attributes being Pulse CHD or any type of damage resistence. Some pieces have specefic bonuses, such as Gloves are the only item that can have CHC & CHD, plus buff a speciefic Weapon. Holsters are the only item that can buff all 3 Abilities. Mask can roll CHC (up to 6%) and Backpacks & Kneepads can both roll CHD (up to 20%).
  • Because Mod Slots allow you to fine tune any weak Abilities, add Armor or Skill Power, they are also highly sought after, but not at the expense of the best Attributes. Armor is capped at 75% (roughly 5350), so after you hit it, go for EDR or something else.
  • For DPS builds you want to stack as much CHC and CHD as you can. CHC is capped at 60%, so don't waste any more then that.
  • For Tank builds, stack Stamina, Armor and EDR
  • For Tech builds, stack Skill Points to no more than 30k for mixed builds, and 40k for pure builds
I'm sure others can throw in some tips I'm forgetting, but those are what comes to mind off the top of my head. Also, if you use an SMG, it comes with native CHC, so I only add additional CHC to one Mod, everything else that lets me (muzzle, mag, scope) I have CHD. Nearly every other weapon I stack CHC with only one piece dedicated to CHD in combination with Headshot damage on the scope. Brutal and Deadly are by far your most sought after weapon talents, with Self-Preserved, Fierce and Capable (marksman rifles) being close seconds.

Sorry if it seems I'm going full on Instructor, I don't know what you know and don't. Plus I figure others could benefit, so forgive me if you know all this already.

Here is my current build, and progression over 3 days in the DZ since 1.2 (links go to 4k images):

Me prior to 1.2 at GS 208. A decent, but not ideal build.

Me after 2 evenings in DZ05-06 (roughly 6hrs of play)

After Day 3 (roughly10hrs) with my M4 equipped. DPS stat is speculative, so you can largely ignore it. My Aug wrecks things faster then my M4, but its DPS is 30k lower.

Stats, with Aug equipped. Max Armor

Stats, 50+% CHC & 200+% CHD with Aug

All 240 Gear (pay sttention to your stats and attributes before you get concerned about Gear Score. Higher GS has more potential, but use whatever is currently best in your inventory).

Vest: Notice Ability near its highest capable + buffed by Gear Mod, Armor near max, EDR & Mod Slot.

Mask: I will be hunting for a compareable 240 with EDR instead of Damage to Elites. Notice however the buffed Pulse CHC.

Kneepads: Armor, lots of resistences and a Mod Slot

Backpack: Armor, Mod Slot & Pulse CHC.

Gloves: Buff to the wimpy Assault Rifles, CHC, CHD, Mod Slot & Pulse CHD (all these could be better %'s, but it's good enough for now)

Holster: I'll be hunting for a new one of these too, replacing Ballistic Shield with Armor so I can remove Armor on something else and add EDR. Still, all 3 Abilities with decent to near max numbers, plus a Mod Slot. Will do for now.

Notice I'm also carrying 2 pieces or Lone Star to equip when I grab ammo (go back to regular set after), and 2 pieces of Final Measure for the 50% additional EDR in PvP and certain mobs. Swapping for PvP is honestly a pain, and it rarely works out, so eventually I will build a set strictly for PvP. I HATE being Rogued, lol.

I'm sure Jamker can display similar results with his Tech build, not to mention other people. DZ Bracket 201+ in zone 05-06 can be frustrating, but it really is the most rewarding area of the game in my opinion. HVT's are a great start to help get you in there, but to put the final touches on your Build the DZ is what I recommend.

Solid information. Yes, just because you get a 240 drop doesn't mean anything unfortunately. It is all about the attributes said piece has on it.
I have so many 240 pieces in my stash that are useless(fund my recalibration or mats.Depending on my current need)

i dont know how you guys are getting so good stats. Mine sucks. My dps is 100k and toughness 150k.

ive been farming DZ for the week and im not getting better gear.

DZ 5 & 6 is where you need to go. I'm glad I was able to help you a little bit last night. And thank you again for trading me a Tacticians vest. I did not have a 240 one.

My skill guy is currently at 374k toughness and 39k skillpower. And that is still with a 214 Tact holster and a mask without skillpower as the major attribute.

So I still need a couple upgrades there along with a 32 firearms gear mod so I can actually equip 2 weapons that have all 3 talents unlocked to help out in a firefight with, you know, firearms. I hope the firearms gear mod Bp comes back on sale tonight.

My current build, switching to 4 pieces tacticians from 2 (+2 lone wolf). It dropped my toughness some 50k, lost about 3% armor, but.... holy shit, I think I like it. Running challenge mode it takes little time to fill the tactions buff, and that doubles the skill power to 60k, which makes for very potent pulse. And one other thing, an idiot accused me of cheating yesterday because I was fighting flamers solo, in dz06. I aggro them from a distance and use a gun that heals 3% on crits. To me that is more important than any other stat. It makes for a massive boost in surviveability and determines if I keep a weapon or not.

you and i are running essentially the same build jiminator. you're right about building up skill power with the 4 piece tacticians set. your pulse and healing skills become extremely powerful. this setup really helps a group tear through enemies.

You guys getting the tacticians gear from running incursions? Playing DZ keep getting everything else.

Its kind of random. 80% of the stuff I get is lone star crap, the other.... you can build a couple of tactician pieces. The 240 stuff - of everything - you have to find though. the bosses & supply drops in dz4-5 are probably the best source.

We're all running the same build now, lol! That's because it's so powerful and just fun to play. Here's mine, which is essentially identical to yours.

I'm still trying to roll an Aug with decent stats and Self Preserved as the free Talent. I can't seem to get it or Deadly as ANY Talent, lol. Elusive little bugger. As most who play with me can testify, I have a bad habit of running too close to the mobs and getting downed. I'm an old paintball player who played front where the action was. It has been my play style in almost every shooter. I NEED THAT TALENT! :ROFLMAO:

I am so jealous right now. :wtf:

To be honest... I really can't say when the last time was I used a weapon (or even gear) I crafted. IMO crafting is only useful for attachments and mods. The good thing about the tacticians build is that... weapons don't matter much

jmaker You may be stacking up too much skill power. go to the shooting range and use a SMG to fill the meter. Then press L to look at your equipped skills. Highlight the ones you are using. The display shows your current skill power and it will drop each second. If the skill buffs also do not drop then some of that 2x extra is wasted. It does add a cushion as you fill it faster and it lasts longer after combat.
For example, pulse max = 58k, first aid overdose = 53k, sticky grenade cool down = 42k, etc. Grenade damage is uncapped though. Anyway hope that helps in allocating your stats. IMO 25-30k is the most you want to use, the rest I would put into stamina then firearms :)

Also, one other thing.... just found the DZ gear mods are level 32, unlike the BoO which are 31 :(

I was going to post the "State of the Game" and new Vendor items, but the long and short of it is, there is nothing of interest this week.

  1. Challenge Mode for Clear Sky has been delayed because they discovered things that could be exploited, and other fixes in the patch it was coming with were found not to be working as intended.
  2. All items have a chance to drop from all sources, but some have a much higher drop rate from specefic sources. This is why you are seeing mainly Lone Star Gear from HVT's; Final Measure in the DZ and Predators Mark & Hunters Faith in Clear Sky.
  3. The new sets have promoted use of a wider range of weapons, making it easier for them to see how weapons need to be balanced.
Looking at the new BP's and Weapons, there is NOTHING noteable anywhere. Makes for a boring week, but at least we'll have time to save for next week.

I like the higher skillpower because even when the Tac bonus is down or cold I can still provide a strong pulse or smart cover.

Even at 39k both pulse and smart cover are not at their cap. Even with me shooting in the range, I'm not hitting the cap for both of those. Smart cover is I think 50% damage buff max, and 75% damage resistance max. Pulse is 40% CHC max, and 100% CHD max If I remember.

I can't rely on the Tac bonus being up at all times. Like you said, it probably is overkill when it is at its max. That and I also want the sig cooldown as low as possible. I think the lowest possible is 360s. Mine is at 417s.

I'm good with it so far. I managed to find an upgraded holster today, so I am now above 400k toughness. I am not that concerned with firearms. I just want to provide the team with the power from my skills and Tactical link. Pulse with Smart cover is strong with a good team.

Running falcons lost with some randoms. We finished the mission, everyone was out, getting ready to collect the teal.... helping the person that planted the bomb.... explosions happened...

Oh that sucks! Had something similar happen on the last wave when FL first came out, so I feel your pain.

I did Falcon Lost for the first time last night, took a tad over 30 minutes...

Got my first Tactician piece (gloves) however they are not level 240 :(

I've been researching PvP builds, and it seems the majority of people are running the same Tacticians / Final Measure build many of you are running now. As you guys have stated, it is tanky and fun. This is good, because before MacroStyle's video showcasing it, Tacticians got little love. That said, who's going to do the DPS once everybody is using this? I've watched these videos and unless there's 2 in a Squad with one using Sticky Bomb, the build does little damage. I mean its Pulse enables tons of damage, but you still need a couple DPS builds in the Squad to round them out.

I'm nearly done with Blood and Wine, and am looking forward to getting back into the mix with you guys. I think I'm going to give up my Strikers Gloves for a pair of Savage Gloves instead. This will kick my CHC to the cap and hopefully bring me the highest numbers I've seen so far. I still need better weapons and incremental upgrades to a few Gear pieces, but I'm getting close.

I want to wreck stuff.

eh, I am sure they will come out with some sort of nerf/balance to even things out, even though the set is being used exactly as intended, not in any type of exploit fashion. which would suck really.
