The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt: Official Thread

Anser is probably no... but past the crones don't mean much because they couldve done every thing else... and which crone part? The earlier or the later?

As for Dark Souls.... the games are alright. I never got the extreme hype either. And really, I really really hate the people going hard but fair, it's as hard but fair as pretty much most games.

Found one =D Thanks.

Steam has this game on sale this weekend for $41.99, I'm considering picking it up because why not add another game I'm not getting around to playing for 6 months to my backlog.

133 hours after tonights session. Just did the last witcher gear treasure hunts and contracts, and with that hit level 35. Not much leeway there, feels like.

I think that with the various patches and updates that they have unofficially capped you at level 35-36 now. I was about halfway to 36, and I'm sure I missed at least a quest or two. Still, I bet I did at least 95% of the available quests if not more.
While I'm sure you can level up higher, it would have be be via grinding enemies and that doesn't give you a whole lot of XP.
I think the people that were getting into the 40's were with earlier versions.

Hit level 36 (with 105xp) as I completed the game.

58 skill points in total. I might have missed a Place of Power or two.

I got the very common problem that Reason of State jumped from completed to failed when I started in on the final battle. Very annoying.

I think 58 is what you have at around 36. I think it's the amount I got and I believe I'm lvl 36. Been a while since I've played though.

rumors were flooding the interweb today about EA buying CD Projekt Red...CDPR has denied the rumors but you never know...

The "denial" that I read was someone saying the buyout was news to the company founder or something like that. That's not a denial. That's being coy. Something like this needs to be flat out denied, in writing, so if he's lying we can never again trust him.

Can you imagine how fucked up GoG is going to be if EA buys them? Oh, and The Witcher 4 will be a piece of shit.

Indeed... I hate it when they try to act stupid about a situation. Fuck them, if that's the case.

At least it didn't go the bioware route of getting bought before the trilogy ended.

I don't see how being bought by EA would be beneficial. That would cut into the profit from every sale by a huge amount.

well fuck, throw enough money at someone and it ruins everything

The Sky is falling. How about we wait for official confirmation / news before chastising anyone or pulling out the pitchforks and torches?

All the gaming sites are running with this because it's a click bait orgy. Completely absurd.

A buyout wouldn't be end of world though. For one, all of the titles on Origin could be made available DRM-free on GOG. :D

So I did some question marks and to be honest didn't really find any new quests. What I am doing however is buying maps from vendors across Novigrad so now I have 2 cat gear quests. However, I am really bummed that I am level 26 and can't find many quests. How are people hitting level 35 is not really clear to me right now.

Also, I played this game now for about 80 hours on PS4 and still the loading times drive me up the wall. lol. Playing it again on PC is such a breeze.

I was in the same boat. The main game quests start dishing out tons of XP toward the end. Even at level 30'ish, there were a couple quests where I gained 2 levels for completing them. It's really uneven in that regard. I was level 24-26 forever. Pretty much my entire time in Skellige felt like a waste because I was getting so little XP and the weapons were so pitiful. No clue if that improves if you head over there earlier, but I was getting lots and lots of quests that only rewarded me with 10 XP over there.

I am finding gear right now and just going to all the merchants and some question mark locations to see what I have missed. Back in Novigrad since Skellige is pretty much all done for me apart from about 100 question marks that honestly, I can't be arsed to do.

I think I finished the game around lvl 38 or so, seemed like if I'd stuck with it I might have hit 40. I'm still wondering how some people got all the way up to 70. Are you able to start the game over with the same character multiple times? I haven't tried yet as I'm waiting a while to start my second play-through.

I'm 38 hours in and level 14. I think this is going to turn into a 150 hour play through at this rate. Given that, I should be able to experience the first expansion drop before I finish the game too.

So my question is - when will other people license this AWESOME game engine and make more games - like Game of Thrones! How fucking cool would that be........or a real D&D style game.......Wheel of Time etc etc.

Without using a trainer I'd imagine you'd have to be toward the end of NG+ to hit level 70.
Personally, If I never have to find those Witcher gear diagrams ever again that's too soon. While certainly great gear...man that was tedious.

Never going to happen. Back then somebody asked CDPR about licensing there engine for from W2 and they said they will never release it for current or future titles on there engines.

things can change especially when it comes to money just one of those wait and see type things

I just hope they update there mod tools so moder's can create all new lands and stuff that would be great

if you want more witcher then yes. but it is not released so nobody can really answer the question

Even after 130 hours I want to play more. That expansion can't come soon enough.

Though I wish the skill system wasn't so restrictive. You have twelve slots, each skill use a max of five points (IIRC), so after 60 skill points there's nothing to do, and in reality many skills will max out at less than five skill points, so you're going to hit that wall much sooner in practice.

I think they should separate out active from passive skills, and make it so that you only have to slot active skills for them to apply.

Put me in the group who wants more. After completing the game and moving on to a few backlog items, none of them are keeping my attention at all. With the Witcher, I kept wanting to push forward to see what was next.

Just picked this back up again Saturday. I learned quite a bit of new stuff, and still hanging around White Orchard. Originally I progressed the story and moved on, but put it down because I was frustrated with the Witcher sense FOV. I feel like I can't find anything that I'm looking for because the FOV is so insanely small. After picking it back up, I went back to White Orchard and started exploring a bit and learning how the notice board worked and the question marks on the map. I'm in love.

That's what happens. Prepare to see an amazing amount of your free time disappear.

Yea, I'm not sure when I'll move on because I'm still exploring.

I hung around and gathered up most of the places of power. There's still a few left I think. The moment I realized I was getting hooked was the treasure hunt for the Viper School gear. Went down into those crypts at the old cemetary and was jumped by that wraith. Incredibly immersive experience. Then I learned how to efficiently use the crafters I think, and crafted both the Viper steel and silver sword. Awesome starting blades! I defeated the werewolf den at level 3 without that gear... I was particularly proud of that(Blood and Broken Bones! difficulty).

It seemed to me that the idea was that you were supposed to select skills based on the situation. For instance, fighting a monster that's vulnerable to bombs, but less vulnerable to physical attack, you'd turn off the red skills, and turn on the green ones.

I agree though, the way that system works seems kind of clumsy.

If that is the idea, then it failed... iirc, you can't change during battle. And aside from certain contracts, you don't really know what's coming.

In many situations you do know what you're fighting in advance though. If I'm working on a contract for X monster, I'll check the bestiary to see what it effective against it and check that I have the appropriate oil, decoction, and potions. I'm only level 18 right now and have been spending skill points so as to not have more skills than I have slots right now, but later on I would adjust this too, if needed. Most story line questions result in fights versus humans so I'd use Hanged Man's Venom before I think there will be an encounter. Other quests often provide clues if you find them with the witcher senses. I find it somewhat rare that I have no idea what is going to be there unless it's a meaningless fight versus something like Drowners.

Well I started doing the end game and holy crap what a great battle. I was level 26 and some change and I got to level 29 before the battle. Luckily my superior cat gear became available and holy crap I was moving like Ciri and kicking so much wild hunt ass it wasn't funny.

Moving on for some vengeance now. I am absolutely in love with this game. I think about a 100 hours in now, level 30 and some change and kicking so much ass.
