Fallout 4

I'll be watching the announcement if there is one. As I mentioned previously, if it uses any semblance of gamebryo it's an automatic no buy for me.

I hope they decide to use a new modern engine or something established like UE3/4.

I'd love to see something like Fallout running on the Crysis 3 engine. That game looks phenomenal, it has huge areas, and it runs well too. Unlikely, but it would be cool.

Not sure I'd trust cyengine with all the trouble they have been having almost going under and such.

Financial issues with Crytek aside, I personally feel that UE4 would be the better decision anyway, and this is based upon experience using both. Cryengine, while pretty, just feels clunky and messy.

Pretty sure this will be running on id Tech. Isn't that one of the main reasons Bethesda bought them?

Sites posting the LinkedIn trailer leak have been hit with NDA violations!
Fallout 4 confirmed.

Expanding:

[Update: We received an email from Mirada Studios demanding we pull this story. A representative cited inaccuracies, but also confirmed the story was breaking a non-disclosure agreement. As nobody at Destructoid signed an NDA, we're assuming that confirms somebody else broke NDA. I wonder who might be in trouble.]

Some user in the Fallout subreddit had their post removed (contained the same information) because Bethesda threatened legal action, this must be legit.

Fallout 4 cinematic experience listing has been removed.

yes...new engine please...and not Unreal 4...CryEngine or Frostbite 3 is my dream

Why not UE4? Pretty much does everything Cryengine does, but Epic is adding new functionality at a quicker rate.

But they do need a new engine. The one used in 3/NV was ugly and unstable.

just dont watch it.

You can't unwatch hype, especially when it's as big and omnipresent as Fallout 4 hype. There will be Fallout 4 news on every gaming website every month till release. It'll be talked about in all the gaming podcasts that I listen to. You just have to endure it.

How cool would it be if they just announced it at an E3 conference and released the game 4-5 months later?

and I can promise you, the hype will be better than the game itself...and there lies the bloody problem with our society

for once, I'd love to see a months worth of advertising and then release and let the game stand on its own merits

witcher 3 just had 1 millions preorders..can't even wait for reviews..this society is owned and operated by the boys in marketing

unreal

Although we do sometimes get some over marketed failures of games, I think some people have lost their sense of anticipation of new games ... sometimes it is nice to preorder a game and enjoy that sense of anticipation and waiting (like checking the presents under the Christmas tree) ... as an original supporter for two RPG Kickstarter projects (Pillars of Eternity and Grim Dawn) I have enjoyed watching their progress, debating features on this and other forums, playing the Betas, and playing the final game (in the case of Pillars) ... if any game is a good bet for a preorder, it is probably the Witcher series (good series and good developer)

GTA V was hyped up so much and I enjoyed it more than any other game in recent years, twice (PS3 and PC). It can be happen, even if it's rare.

I hope this is like FO3 where they show at E3 and launch in October.
My god that would be amazing.

OMG OMG OMG :eek::eek::eek:

DOOM 4 and Fallout 4, I'm so looking forward to Bethesda presentation at E3

More excited for Doom 4 myself, but also quite excited for Fallout 4.

Hopefully it's on a brand new engine and not just a "new" engine that is really Gamebryo in disguise. I'd love a Fallout game that doesn't have shit textures.

I agree although I'm more concerned about stability issues. Way overdue to retire and move past Gamebryo.

I sincerely hope they didn't attempt a "radiant quest" concept in this like they did in Skyrim. I'm still convinced that was a major culprit for a lot of Skyrim's bugs.

I just want something that performs well on day 1. While it's nice to get a new engine and killer graphics, it's always a drag when high-end hardware tanks on a new game. By the time we can all play it the way it was meant to be enjoyed, it's old news and $5. Seems like devs would want something people would be ready to play and enjoy before it hits the sale sheet.
