I normally work at the prompter for the local morning show, but occasionally go to the audio or director desk for smaller updates!

Hope you enjoy these!

Stick a question mark on the end of the prompt!

"I'm Ron Burgundy??"

lol... "and my tiny nipples went to France!"

I know that's a real workstation.. I was always a little confused by this thread as it seemed like a "post your computer lair" type thread.. but I love seeing everyone's setups. :)

Glad everyone enjoys seeing an "actual" workstation!

Always think about changing the script especially with very boring stories!

Neat stuff :)

I did local access stuff 20 years ago in high school, and a company I owned did live even internet video streaming.

Always like checking out tv studios.

I used to work at the local public schools tv station and did title slides and animations in Lightwave 3D on an Amiga and then on PC when Lightwave was finally ported.
Had my own office all the way in the back of the studio, was nice and quiet when we weren't shooting anything.
Everyone else had desks up front in the main area.

Here is my main home workstation:

147 cards in total. Achieved ROI in February thanks to the altcoin bubble. Unfortunately, the op is dark at the moment, but hopefully i can spin it back up soon enough.

Happy New Year fellow [H] readers!

Lets kick off the new year with some new workstation photos to show off all those Christmas upgrades ;)

As always, keep the images to a reasonable embed size. I personally recommend 1024x768. If you want to show of Hi-res versions, then link to them on a hosting site such as imgur, or Dropbox. Also keep the links/embeds updated so they don't go dead throughout the year!

Here is my updated workstation for this year. Not a whole lot has changed from last year, except the floating shelves, and some new hardware. Also wanted to showed off the new Vizio P-series 4K and Logitech K830

Vizio P-series 4K, HTPC with XBMC/Kodi and new Logitech K830 keyboard.

Where can I get the X-Wing wallpaper?

Thanks

Shitty picture of my work desk. The keyboard, mouse, monitors, headphones and headphone amp are all mine. I refuse to squint at 19", 10 year old monitors for 8-10 hours per day....

Mostly the same as 2014. One of the monitors is currently on loan to the GF's rig (out of frame to the right of the tower)

I wish I had your mining setup here to heat up my room, it's so cold in my cubicle, 43*,

My PC is really cool though,

Yow, that's kinda intolerable. At least you got a nice ambient for some overclocking tests, eh? :p :D

In our winter months of operations, we had a couple weeks were it was pretty cold (30s) and the racks still managed to push the internal room temps over 100F!

Does this count... it's my actual in office work setup :D

Thanks. All three tables are Ikea Galant (no longer available).

What! Ok. I'll do some research around the Galant keyword.

Thanks

Edit: Looks like they're replacing it with something called the BEKANT. Interesting.

So you changed it so you have no desk that orients you directly facing your TV. Do you like that better? It makes the room cleaner but I bet by June your neck will be soar. ;-)

edit: being a righty on the mouse does help though. I had a TV to the left of my desk once and it was pretty easy to watch.

Love the lava lamps as always. Nice stuff! :)

Yes, BEKANT recently replaced GALANT. IMO BEKANT is not as favorable since it's not modular. The edges are rounded on BEKANT vs. squared on GALANT. One thing I like about BEKANT is the use of 2 legs on the corner desks versus 3 on GALANT. Regardless, they are still a great value, are sturdy, and look nice.

First poster, figured I'd join in the fun.

While not the most impressive workspace I am still rather happy with it. Currently living with my grandparents (Taking care of them because of health issues) so the wallpaper is...not my first choice.

Interior of the case. This is an older one when I first assembled it, I have since redone the cables on the graphics cards to be less in the way of the front fans.

Thanks for the compliments! I like the new setup better as the desks are against one wall so I can eventually put a couch in front of the TV. I hope my neck won't be sore from looking at the TV, but we will see. I'm usually looking at the monitors anyway while occasionally glancing at the TV, so it probably won't be an issue.

The lava lamps are fun, and I wish more people on here had them in their rooms.

I like your new desk configuration, myelin1. Those floor standing speakers on the desk gotta sound pretty impressive.

I'm a fellow lava lamp lover, but have had bad luck with them. I bought 2 from LavaLamp.com, but both failed in less than a couple weeks. Yours look amazing.

Initially the floor standing speakers sounded like crap until I angled them downward. They sound better now.

If your lava lamps failed, contact lava lamp on their site and tell them they failed. They will replace them by sending new ones, and you won't have to send the old ones back.

Even better, try to get lamps from the 90's from eBay. They flow much better and typically don't cloud up like the ones made today. The lamps in the 90's were made in the USA, while the ones made now are made in China...
