Dragon Age Inquisition benchmarks.

Yes, my #s are with every single setting in the game completely maxed out. I just started playing just now - it looks amazing. By far the best RPG graphics I have ever seen in a game. Also, in game seems very very smooth, smoother than what the benchmarks would indicate. I don't know if it's Mantle, which typically has very tight frame times, or if the FPS is just much higher, but it feels great.

Mantle just makes everything so damn smooth. I hope that DX12 is at least as good when it launches since it supposedly has had so many extra years in development compared to Mantle.

Just installed them. No issues. I'm playing at 2560, 2X MSAA, everything else maxed and it's buttery smooth with these.

1440p: 2x AA, all other settings maxed: 64 fps avg.

1440p: 4x AA, all other settings maxed: 55.7 fps avg.

Hmm, guess my CPU is starting to show its age a bit judging by the other 970 SLI scores in the thread.

Edit: Dropping my CPU to 4.5 ghz brought my 2xAA average up to 67.6 fps, 4xAA 0.1 higher. Seems higher clocks weren't doing me any favors even though they were 24 hours prime stable.

And now I've dropped to 4.3 ghz and am getting 68.9 fps average at 2xAA, 4xAA increment 0.1 higher yet again. I guess high CPU clocks at least on an older ivy bridge hinder the game marginally... odd. I haven't seen this effect in other games, must be related to multi-threaded performance in some way.

I've been holding out for "Big Maxwell"/390x, but I may have to upgrade one of my systems sooner. I'll have to wait and see what my performance at 1440p will be (minus AA) in a few hours. Xmas may be coming early.

I feel like 4GB isn't enough for Fade Textures at 2560.. did anyone else find it smoother to turn them down to Ultra?

I honesty don't see a difference (smoothness wise) between Ultra and Fade Touched. Based on the benchmark, it doesn't really hurt fps much either.

Better write this one down folks.amd released gpu drivers before nvidia and even the game(s)!

You would certainly hope they would since AMD as a partner program with EA much like Nvidia does with Ubisoft.

FC4 is TWIMTBP, not AMD..

50% is a pretty massive increase...

argghhhhh...

56 minutes

there is a countdown for you region on the origin client if anyone is interested.

still waiting, figured I would preload the game. Another hour or so before i dive in.

Preloaded far cry 4 as well. Which to play first. hmmm

Is FC4 out today? Thought it was tomorrow?

Just checked, comes out tomorrow. Tried accessing it through VPN via South Korea but no dice.

the 18th is midnight...

Oh, does Uplay release at midnight? I thought it might be like Steam where they hold a game until 8 PM on release day. This is the first time I've done a preload with uplay.

Ah crap, it's available right now on Steam. I guess there is a downside to a free download code via uplay.

Aaaand, it's out on Uplay. :)

2x Geforce 980s
Intel i7 5960x
1920x1080

Everything Ultra, MSAAx4, Faded Touch Textures (basically, everything except resolution)

Avg. 86.8
Min. 68.4

I prefer my television. It's significantly higher quality than my monitors (Pioneer Kuro TV, Eizo ColorEdge monitors). Also my capture device only supports 1080p. (And no, I'm not recording via the computer running Dragon Age. I split the HDMI signal and have a separate computer record to keep the frame rate as honest as possible).

Single GTX Titan @ 1006mhz/4690k @4.7ghz, all ultra 4xMSAA 1080p

Avg 48.4
Min 38.9

EDIT:

Playing with some settings dialed back, but mostly on ultra and I'm seeing 5.4GB vram use so it seems to hog up whatever you give it. Also, for the sake of your sanity install it to an SSD, loading takes FOR-EV-ER from a spinner. Like PS3 loading times.

im having severe issues with it right now. mantle is greyed out so i cant test that

7870 xfire
dx11, 14.9 cats
maxed with 2x aa, 1920x1200
4.9fps average

presets - mix of med/high
19.2 fps average

Did you install the new 14.11.2 beta drivers that optimize for CrossFire?

Also, try turning off MSAA. What is your texture quality set at?

It seems that Ultra tessellation and HBAO Full are big hits to the frame rate for me as well as MSAA. Try turning those down.

just tried installing 14.11.2 and it refuses to install. still shows im on 14.9, and in the installer panel, it says the drivers are up to date.

ya, something is seriously wrong here. everything off/low gets me 33/31 at 1920x1200.

*110FPS in BF4, empty server, maxed all settings, with 8xaa.

90fps in bf4 under mantle, all max, empty server.

so ya, i have no idea what the hell is going on here.

MSAA is a HUGE performance hit.

Currently running with everything maxed with MSAA Off and I'm getting a VSync locked 60fps in DX11. Flipped over to Mantle to get the extra bump. Res is 2560x1080 for reference.

People are going to see a much larger hit with MSAA with these newer cross platform games then they did previously simply because the amount of geometry in a scene is increasing immensely over last generation games.

More triangles in a scene = heavier MSAA cost.

im getting 30fps dx11 gameplay with everything all the way up except msaa at 2x @1080p

surprisingly smooth for 30fps.

unfortunately, the quality difference between 2x and 4x is noticeable. i may have to dial back hbao and tess to get decent fps at 4x

ive only played for 2 hours, but the scope of this game is unreal.

i keep trying to hit the spacebar to pause and i jump

That 1st pride demon was a clusterfuck trying to figure out the controls

lol

My score in the benchmark at 1080p
All settings Ultra, 4x MSAA

Average: 52.7
Min:44.3

14.9.2 Beta Driver.
R9-290@ 1200/1600

fuck it, im waiting for the day one patch to come out tomorrow.

i got my initial fps problem sorted. i did a full driver sweep and reinstall.

all ultra with 0xaa gives me about 45fps in the benchmark under mantle. pegs me at 60fps in game, except it stutters like hell. 60 fps to 4 fps in world. 30fps to 1 fps in cut scenes.... theres nothing stable about this at all.

even dropping it down to all low/off gives a stuttery mess. 120 to 40 fps looking at a wall.

Playing on high settings with one GTX660ti not overclocked (don't ask) and getting frames between 24-60. NO MSAA either. Resolution is 1920x1080

Games looks beautiful and plays surprisingly smooth. Makes me almost want to upgrade to play at ultra settings. I think a few driver updates and it will be even better though.

I've noticed that when switching texture settings with mantle, I have to delete the MantlePipelineCache.db files in Users\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\cache. Otherwise I get artifacts after the save loads

Just trying to help, but did you use DDU to uninstall the old drivers and allow it to go into Safe Mode? Sometimes a remnant of a driver will break stuff just like you described.
