Is it really hard to believe I have almost 900 rift stones?
no one believes me, lol

Do you just never pay for rifts or something? I'm paragon 334 and I think the most I've ever had at one time was 200ish shorlty after launch. For the past month or so I've usually been in the 30-60 range at any one time, but I also don't RiF or run normal bounties, so maybe that's why.

No, I played plenty of rifts, I'll do them solo sometimes so I can go at my own pace.
I've also been the one opening Rifts with other players, sometimes opening 20 rifts in an evening.
I got a few hundred last week doing A1 bounties trying to get a RoRG. Did over 100+ and haven't gotten one. Friend that was helping me get one already had 2 and got another one after about 20 minutes into helping me.

I've done 906 bounties so far,

If only mats would just have infinite stack so we can just use up one square each. So ridiculous that there is such a limit! :/.

So I spent some time last night leveling my DH. Because i'm going from 60-70 i've been getting lots of quick upgrades, with varying bonuses to different moves. As such, i've been constantly mixing up my builds. I really just want to complain for a second.

I hate primary moves. All they are is uninteresting, lower damage moves, soley for generating resources. Shocking, right? They just seem completely boring and not fun to use, at all. I'd rather hit a mana potion or something and keep using my main cool moves, instead of having to constantly use these boring primary ones.

/rant.

The good old days of d2 pot spamming are over. Could you imagine if the unique pots had no cooldowns? I dont care about secondaries, just let me spam a pot that restores my spender / hp!

Yea, it's not even that I want to spam pots, I just wish there were more interesting ways to get more resources. There is nothing fun about standing in one place spamming a move that does puny damage for puny resource regeneration.

You are not alone brother. I have done over 1000 act1 bounties on T2+ and still no RRoG. My son has received 7 and he hasn't even done the 500 bounty achievement yet. He is starting to salvage them now, mostly I think to piss me off. I think I might ground him next time...

I loved spamming pots to do my skills. It felt really empowering to be able to use my heavy damage dealers without having to worry about a retarded primary.

What was so bad about Health/Mana for everyone? I didn't mind! Too WoW-ified nowadays.

The general idea behind resources (be it cooldowns or a pool) is to force the usage of more than just one skill. With no resource limits, there's zero reason to use anything other than your most powerful skill at all times - perhaps you like that; I find it quite boring.

Ironically the end game goal of most builds in ARPG's is to nullify any resource limits set in place by the game. For example Titan's Quest could be completely broken if you got 100% cooldown reduction on gear (there was no diminishing returns). As melee in Diablo 2 it was all about getting enough mana leech to permanently cast your attacks (and to counter mana burn - at least we don't have that to worry about in D3).

This is also why cindercoat (and as a result, all fire skills) are so ridiculously strong.

It seems like Blizzard wants to force the use of primaries (see the constant buffs to their damage with each patch) yet monster HP is still tuned around being able to spam your most powerful attack at all times. I just throw it in the same group of strange design decisions that resulted in the current state of 2H weapons and Wizards.

To be fair as a barb I really only use two moves right now snyways and as a wd I use like two as well after summons. I want to rock things quick not wait around for them to die haha.

Played a little on the PTR last night after doing a few Bounties with the clan. The Greater Rifts were pretty fun. Started up a L1 rift with a PUG group, got keys to a L11 rift, cleared that (and got keys to L2x) and then went to bed. The L11 boss dropped a mountain of loot so that was pretty cool.

I think this will be a lot of fun when it hits live servers. It gives people an incentive to play well and see how deep into the rifts you can go.

Ya, the drop rate for the ring is crazy. I guess if you already have one, it will drop more often, lol.

does he call you over and say "Hey Dad, look at this" drops the RoRG in the salvage window and clicks OK. lol

I'm confused by this game's performance. Just made a new build (4790k, 16gb ram, R9 290) few days ago and tried to play D3, but FPS drops in rifts are just atrocious. What the hell?

im running a GTX 780 and have the same issues. Seems to be a game engine issue with all the effects

As you touch on at the end, it's all design problems. You really should only ever need 2 damage skills. Single target and AoE. Any other damage skills are just pointless (hence my complaints about primary skills), unless your're chaining together multiple damage abilities for some synergies or something like that (which blizzard doesn't really have). Other moves should be utility, nuke, or defense. Luckily blizz did something right with the new runes which add a long CD and make the move do significantly more damage (a true nuke move). But I know that primaries are never going anywhere and it's just annoying.

There's simply too much monster HP padding. And you're right, it's tuned to being able to span your most powerful attacks at all times. The second i have to use my primary it's like poking the enemy with a toothpick. just no fun at all :(

I am well behind you with a 2500K @ 4.4 and a GTX 660 SC, however the games runs pretty bad for me too, especially in certain areas (Rakkis Cross, part of Arreat Crater...). The PTR seems to have better FPS, but that could be just placebo or because they changed some of the visual effect.

I normally play with a lot of the GFX turned down since it is hard to tell whats going on anyway. In 4 man Rifts, most of the screen is just layered GFX and numbers flying everywhere...

I think they are limiting some of the other players pets and companions from showing on your screen to help with rendering in the PTR. I think I had read that in one of the notes for the new patch.

Found some old pics on my site from before the Attack Speed nerf (also didn't know at the time that Crit Chance and Crit Damage is what you really wanted to have).
I loved having the extra attack speed though, was nice.

So sometimes this game just slows down for no reason. When I use an FPS tool such as MSI Afterburner, it always stays at 60, but sometimes it literally feels like it's a slideshow or something. I feel like it's the servers being overloaded, which can get pretty annoying after a while.

While doing tiered rifts, I began wondering why Blizzard thinks the only thing they can do to make things harder is scale the shit out of mob damage and health, one day they will think outside the box...I know it

Yea drives me Crazy. Over clocked my cpu and it seamed to help some. But it shouldn't be slow on a high end rig. Tried turning things down nothing really helps it just has its lagy spots.

R.I.P. But you were only paragon 221, is there a RIF community for hardcore? Seems like you geared up pretty quickly in a short amount of time. Should be able to get that gear back in no time!

Lightning + Waller + haunt of vaxo + narrow corridor = death

dat lightning bug

RIP man, that was a beastly character. Damn, full Akkhan and probably the best Blade of Prophecy I've seen. What lightning bug are you taking about?

I wouldn't call 3 months or paragon 221 a short amount of time to seriously gear one character.

Paragon 221 isn't too high, and I wouldn't know how long he has or hasn't played the game.

By playing normally I hit paragon 221 pretty quickly when RoS hit, granted I don't play HC because I don't see the point of it (my opinion :))

Pets make packs that have lightning proc the lightning like fucking crazy add that with walled in, i procced both my passive and my akarat and still couldnt get out in time. I had haunt of vaxo up and my two shadow guys were making lightning proc everywhere, the entire screen was blue. Oddly enough the game didn't save a screenshot, it usually does when i die in HC.

Is there any place to see how many people are playing at each difficulty, because i am on today and checking every level and every torment level only shows like 3 people actually playing right now online?

I've played far more than most people I know and I'm 334...221 is plenty enough of a "time investment" to feel the loss IMO. I said 3 months because RoS has been out 3 months.

I've been looking forward to 2.1 and Seasons, which I will certainly try out, but the game is getting a tad stale lately and Greater Rift "difficult" is looking to be little more than massive HP/damage bloat, which honestly doesn't interest me that much.

Yeah I know what you mean. The game isn't much of a challenge especially once everyone has a Furnace. I was lucky enough to find two, so I have one on me and one on my follower when I solo and can solo T6 malth pretty fast -- I don't do it much and that should be nerfed IMO.

The #1 paragon in the world is a pretty big scrub using it all day and night when he complained about world first paragon 800 doing the same exact thing. Lmao.

What level are you? There are very few people playing under 70, especially campaign mode.

334? What are you, noob status? :p jk.

My comp died over a week ago. Putting the new one together tonight. I think I left off at 478 or so. Unknownsoul prob no-lifed it to 600 by now. Believe it or not, he and I were pretty close for many levels prior to my comp slowly self destructing. I credit him in the later levels for grinding it out, not that I think 478 is terribly high. Friendly comp never hurt tho.

Wow that was instant death.. I would be soo mad..

Wow, maybe that's what was killing me so fast the other day. I was always rolling through T2 like no big deal on my monk and suddenly I was dying left and right.

Very sad about the nerf on disintegrate though, gonna make my wizard not work as well anymore :( :D

That Barb Earthquake-Leaped directly on top of the T6 electrified enemy, essentially making himself tank every bolt triggered by every tick of his Earthquake, plus anything his teammates triggered. That actually seems legit considering the nature if damage scaling and the fact that he put himself in the worst possible position.

IMO the barbs fault for constantly leaping on the guy after first leap, lol.
