your soj is the only thing giving you fire skill damage, which is pointless unless you have like 40% or higher.
so get another soj and another item to add towards fire skills.

That fire skill damage would only be "pointless" if he decided to not use any fire skills. There isn't some sort of breakpoint for elemental damage where it changes from useless to amazing; it's always useful as long as you're using skills that take advantage of it.

Also, you can only equip one SoJ at a time (excluding legacy SoJs, although those don't have % elemental damage anyway).

i could be wrong, but from my understanding what you should do is stack fire skill stats.
hidden damage is apparently more important than your dps, or so im told.

Between the SOJ and Magefist I'm at 30% fire dmg. I admit I need some more of that.

Anyone recommend a solid fire build for a Wizard? Mine is feeling a little bit underwhelming.

This is the build i used when i played fire wiz (got bored and went to my WD cause my wiz was my main in D3V).

I swapped the generator out to spectral blades with the rune that increase fire damage by giving you stacks. i could usually keep around 20 or so stacks when i was playing. I also got rid of the dominace passive and used something that increases AP from your generator. If you have enough APOC you wouldn't need it.

So got these this morning:

Super excited about that Mask of Jeram. Been wanting that for ages. Got it from Kadala, she also dropped some very nice boots too. Managed to re-roll the 5% Crit-Chance on the helm in 1 roll :D. Trying to get Crit-Chance on that ring, not having luck.

I am very jealous of your mask of jeram. I got a MOJ on my WD the other day...but it was the set item and it doesn't roll pet damage.

I found three Mask of Jeram's in the same day, highest one rolled 91% pet dmg though. One came from Kadala and the other two were drops. Of course I tried out the pet build for a while but ultimately became annoyed with it because the AI on the garg always attacks the wrong thing :(. He'll be attacking the elite mob, then a bat will show up in the corner of the screen and he'll get distracted instead of finishing off the elite right in front of him. I find using pirrahnado helps, but it still doesn't fix the problem completely.

Really need to have the garg prioritize elites first. The damage is insane, but only when he actually hits the right target! For the time being I'm having tons of fun with a curse build (got the helm that doubles haunt / locust damage). Finally had the belt drop that makes locusts slow enemies by 80%, so with pestilence the entire screen is permanently at a crawl.

It really seems like WD have the strongest class specific legendary effects on their items. Two helms that literally double their damage output for their respective builds, the cooldown reduction dagger, the damage reduction / dog summon mojos, and the ring that makes zombie dog summon one big dog (pretty nice with the mojo).

Most people use the mask of jeram to increase sycophants damage, not the gargantuan. Yes I use the gargantuan when theres an elite pack on the screen but he does seem to loose focus a lot. Having 10 sycophants all hitting a rift guardian for 5-8M crits =

Blizz sent out a survey this morning, looks like they want some feedback on D3: RoS players.

Playing with Freaky from here. I'm getting pretty damn lucky this morning! Like 4-5 legendaries dropped already.

I started 6 T2 rifts and got one legendary 2hnd axe, a pattern, and two forgotten souls in public groups on my Witch Doctor. They must have done some adjustments to lessen mob density. We literally had to kill every single non elite to summon the rift boss in each one. And there were very few elite packs.

Glad to see you get some loot though. :)

I don't get why this game still keeps trying to give me 2 handed weapons, they all suck for a Wizard and aren't great for my Monk either. Every session I get at least one of those garbage weapons.

If you guys wanna join me in doing rifts/bounties all day and night today, HellsThunder#1596

Got my Hallowed Plans today, was excited.

Nimravus#1216 if anyone wants to meet up. Its hard for me to play in PUG's I like 100% teamwork, and Only way for me to get that is to play with people who actually know how to play

There's a split bounty community, everyone's pretty good about it. Just post LFG A1 (or whatever) and because the community is focused on split bounties, you'll know exactly what everyone is looking for.

Stormed through about 15 bounties in an hour, good stuff. Still havent gotten a good ring though :(

Made the jump to perma t5. XP gain is 450 mil per rift per 10-15 mins which means I can potentially farm 2 bil xp if I run with a really fast group and sneak in 5 runs.

The leg drop rate of t5 is insane in a rift, I'm avg 2-3 legs per rift, a FS, and 50-60 shards. This has let me craft the same stuff a few times and re roll a couple times instead of trying to roll 1 thing and getting nowhere and cost going insane. Coupled with gold find, I'm actually stacking mats, fs and gold while trying to craft good stuff.

ie Reaper wraps with 100 ar, 17 fire, 497 dex and crit c of 5.5. took 2 reaper wraps attempts and 2 rolls total. as opposed to my first pair which has 9 rolls on it and only a 6.0 cc to show for it after spending way more.

You'll spend less in the long run trying to kill matheal 10x over and farm reaper mats to make multiple than trying to make a shitty one good with rng. He also drops mats on normal, but t+ levels have better odds.

That would be nice, except that I'm still on shitty legendaries and rares (while very good for rares, not good enough for anything above T2).

It's tough going.

I think I'm averaging about 2bill xp/hour solo t6. Just doing pure bounties.

Actually might be more, I'm paragon 274 right now but I get about 5 paragon levels per hour.

Why are you using Spiritual Attunement? The only skill you have that has a mana cost is Firebats, and you're using Vamp Bats, so no channeling cost. Why not use Grave Injustice instead for the cooldown reduction?

firebats still costs mana to start channeling. with pierce the veil i find i run out of mana still. it's been a while since i've messed with it though

Got annoyed yesterday with the drop rate for myself. Fail is sitting there getting 5-6 per bounty run, I got nothing.

Got a nice set wand last night, Chocondo's or something like that..... that was about it =p

I'm not having a lot of luck with drops. I'm lvl 39 paragon and running T1 Rifts and bounties in public games. T1 is a high for me, as I have crappy gear. No way I could do it solo. How do I get some good legendaries or set gear the fastest? I'm getting paragon levels fast running T1 pub games, but very few drops.

Here's my build and gear: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Drawmonster-1478/hero/41590163

What am I doing wrong and what can I improve with my build and items?

Just after a quick glance,

Weapons with sockets. Rare weapons with sockets for emeralds would be upgrades over your legendary weapons. Or re-roll a stat on your current ones for sockets if you have the materials.

Make sure gloves and rings have both crit chance and damage. Looks like your current items have 1 but not the other. (re-roll life regen on gloves to crit damage). If you don't have forgotten souls to re-roll stats on your current rings, I'd switch to rares that have both cc and cd. Your stolen ring is good but I'd re-roll area damage to crit damage.

Amulet's you'll want elemental % dmg of whatever elemental skills you use, main stat, crit chance, crit damage. You'll want to re-roll the +dmg on your current one to elemental %dmg or crit chance either one will help a lot.

Elemental % damage on bracers is pretty easy to get. A rare with elemental dmg, crit chance, main stat, and vit/ar are pretty easy to get and would be better than your current ones. You can usually get 3 out of those 4 stats and re-roll for the missing one. If you want to keep your current ones I'd re-roll vit or AR into elemental damage.

Sockets on chest and pants. Help a lot for toughness. I'd re-roll the armor in your chest for sockets.

Skill damage on items, keep in mind re-rolling for it can be a pain in the ass if you have limited resources since there's so many options it can roll into. early on I looked for items with the skill damage I wanted already on them and then re-rolled other stats that were easier to get.

Easiest way to get this stuff is probably gambling. I usually pick one slot and gamble for it until I get an upgrade (rare or legendary). I'd start with pants since yours don't have strength. Then bracers if you don't have the resources to re-roll stats on your current one. Then chest with sockets if you can't re-roll your current one to have sockets. I never gamble weapons but you can do that too to try and get a socketed one.

Hope this helps, best I could do while at work.

Be careful getting too caught up into rerolling before you have millions of gold. I made this mistake *twice* early on when I started doing Torment Rifts. Would have been much better if I saved the gold for gems and just waited on more gear and souls :(

Some items like amulets and off hands appear harder to reroll than others.

RNG is RNG. You can try to build Magic Find gear and whatnot, but drops will still be subject to their random drop system. Actually, pretty much all you can do is try to build Magic Find, run higher tier Torments (or run lower as fast as you can, for more drops) and run it with 4 people. There are some restrictions on where some legendaries drop, but it still comes down to the random system they have in place when you're farming those areas.

Do not build magic find... the effects of MF is significantly reduced for legendaries.

Just play the game. Don't force yourself into T1 if you aren't ready for it. There's a reason there are more difficulty settings. Paragon 39 is ... really low relatively speaking. You can get into T1 by just rerolling rares. As mentioned before, just reroll some stats so they're more ideal.

I am so glad they finally reduced the need for Magic Find. I always hated having to have that shit on my gear. Now i can just gear for pwnage and be good to go. Gearing for pwnage is more fun than gearing for MF any day.

Just found the Garwulf Cloak for my Demon Hunter.

Of course its bugged. The affix on the cloak states
"Grants the ability to summon 3 wolves instead of 1 with your companion ability"

When I activate it, only 2 of the wolves attack, the 3rd one just stands there doing his default animation.

I have posted this on the Blizzard bug report forums. I have yet to get a response to it.

I'm surprised you're running T1 with that gear.

First off, swap the hands of your weapons. Some skills use only your primary hand weapon damage, so you want your heavier hitter in that hand.

Quickest, easiest thing you can to is get some decent weapons with sockets and put the biggest Emeralds you've got in them. You've got a bit of crit chance, so the crit damage will increase your DPS a ton.

That Sever is pretty decent. I'd reroll the Vitality into a slot if you've got the mats for it.

Otherwise, I probably wouldn't reroll any of your gear as it's not worth the money and mats. You'll find upgrades quick enough.

For now, I'd do split bounties in Normal difficulty. Even just a few hours of that and you should have quite a few gear upgrades.

Oh yeah, totally. Unless it's a major upgrade or a BiS item I usually re-roll until it hits 250k per and then salvage it. I've never regretted salvaging the item and it stops me from doing "just one more"

If you're stacking +Lightening damage on items, do you now benefit from having a lightening damage roll on your weapon?

Last night i got the WD helm that increases pet damage (linked a few pages back) It rolled with decent stats but no Crit. I spent 12+ souls, and now each roll is over 1 mil gold. Im not sure whether or not its worth it to keep going when i could make other improvements through crafting with those souls and gold
