BioShock Infinite

some spoiler questions I saw asked in the last page or so...

regarding the dead guy in the lighthouse in the beginning of the game...he was killed by the Lutece's...a map is shown later in the game which shows that the Lutece's considered him the final loose end (or something along those lines)...as far as the disappearing Elizabeths in the end of the game...all Elizabeth's die...once Comstock ceases to exist then so does Elizabeth...Comstock created her hence she cannot live without his existence...Anna lives on but since she was never taken by Comstock she can never become Elizabeth

Elizabeth is wearing the necklace pendant all the way up until you drown dude. why isnt she wearing it when she kills you? Because it leaves other possibilities open to your interpretation. Yes you are right no comstock means no elizabeth, but without the pendant around her neck we don't know what happened to that elizabeth..

I don't think the pendant means anything...just because she isn't wearing it doesn't mean she is still alive 'somewhere'...she cannot exist in a world where Comstock never existed...all Elizabeths have to be dead...if she's alive in another universe then who created her?...the only possibility is that Anna somehow creates Elizabeth again in the future through some future variable

no doubt and thats what i thought at first too dude. its silly to dismiss the pendant though if you ask me. rewatch the ending. she has the pendant ALLL THE WAY until the last scene when he drowns. then when the elizabeths are disappearing you never see the final one disappear. this leaves more for you to interpret which is what makes it so great. i dont have an explanation I can only watch and make my own interpretations.

Good luck beating it in 1999 mode without using a Dollar Bill vendor.
I hardly ever used a dollar bill vendor in hard mode, it's probably doable (but difficult) in 1999 mode if you can manage to use all available ammo in the area.

Enemy/ health/ Salts drops are abundant enough to survive and beat the game without buying anything from the Dollar Bill, you just have to play smart and make everything count. I'd argue you'd have a much tougher time buying from there as you will waste that money on disposables rather than making upgrade purchases for guns and vigors.

And yes, I unlocked the Scavenger Hunt achievement(on my first playthrough, too). The Heartbreaker achievement is more difficult on 1999 Mode.

I always found a ton of ammo but there was never the appropriate weapon around, so I ended up with excess ammo for guns I couldn't use. I used the Dollar Bill a LOT just to keep stocked. Some of the enemies take an insane amount of hits to kill.

yea totally doable, you just have to be willing to swap around and combo whenever possible, since salts are way more abundant. the only thing that sucks is the way they disperse the ammo, 3 rounds here, 5 rounds there, just checking every single container in the area to get at them is the tedious part, especially on 1999 where most of them are empty.

makes me wish liz was designed as a gopher instead producing ammo out of nowhere, since on hard+ she hands out ammo way less frequently. would be more useful retrieving ammo for you than magically handing you a weapon when you're nearly spent, this is kind of a nuisance in the middle of combat.

I loathe the entire mechanic of her tossing you things tbh, coins included. makes me scowl at her every time she stops me to chip in 5 silvers or something.

I thought so too on my first play through. I realized I wasn't using the right weapons.
I thought Lady Comstock would be much more difficult. I had to feed her a steady diet of fire to put her down quickly.

In the last part of the game I had some fun just charging everyone because the right combination of upgraded Charge vigor is just stupidly OP.

Combine it with the clothing items where you A) Gain health from killing people with melee, B) 40% chance to gain salts from a killed person, C) 70% chance to burn the target after a melee hit for 300 damage and D) use health as salts when you run out. You're basically a wrecking ball.

Got a patch on Steam, don't see a changelog in the news though.

Hey Steam, new rule: You don't get to patch if you don't supply a changelog.

better late then never...

BioShock Infinite PC Patch Notes [04/05/13]

On Friday, April 5th, we released a PC Patch via Steam:

• Fix for occasional crash occurring during startup of the game during opening movies.

• Fix for some audio being permanently disabled if a checkpoint is restored while the screen is still faded to black prior to the player’s first encounter with Daisy Fitzroy.

• Fix for user inventory issue in the Town Center fair

What do you mean by "creates"? She's really a multi-dimensional Anna w/ here finger in the original universe/timeline & herself in the "current" universe/timeline. Since this is all about infinite possibilites, the current Booker & Elizabeth can still be alive with Comstock & Songbird dead. They never stated that couldn't happen just because the pre-baptism Booker needed to die. It can get really paradoxical due to the scene at the end of the credits.

polonyc2 is correct. Elisabeth can't exist without Comstock. Comstock can't exist without Booker excepting the baptism and turning into Comstock. It' all relative. If Comstock never asked Lutece to take Anna from Booker then none of this happens.

But if she now exists outside of space-time continuum due her "existing" in 2 universes in first place and her being pretty much omnipotent... Or as Dr. Who would say - "Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey Stuff" :D.

She only exist if at least one version of Booker accepts the baptism and continues on his path to become Comstock. If no version of Booker ever accepts the baptism then there is no Elisabeth period. It doesn't matter if she has the ability to open tears since she would be erased from existence if Booker never makes the decision to get baptized. Anna (baby Elisabeth) on the other hand would exist but she wouldn't have the power to open tears since that happened when she was taken by Lutece.

Easy enough, thanks. What's the difference between choosing the bird and cage? I chose the bird and had the songbird reek havoc on the gun ships at the end. If I were to choose the cage in the beginning, would it have been different?

No difference.

I don't think anything you choose in the game has any effect on anything, but you are made to believe it does somehow.

Is anyone else having save issues with this game? Every time i enter the game again and click "Continue Story" or whatever it says...it keeps bringing me back to an earlier part of the game. Then i have to go to Load Chapter and figure out which was the latest save and even then i have to spend another 15 minutes trying to get where i left off at. Really annoying. I SO miss the save whenever wherever system from the old Bioshocks.

Read the last several pages of the thread....short answer: yes, the save system blows donkey balls.

Has anyone taken a look at the upcoming board game? I was into it but then I saw it was like a $60 pre-order (normal price is like $85 or something crazy).

Comes with a lot of stuff but I think I'll wait to see what it's all about before making that kind of financial commitment.
