Being a huge fan of the Battlefield franchise, I bought Battlefield 3 on the release date, since then I"ve wasted so much time and have become frustrated to no end due to this garbage company ruining another one of my favorite games.

\

I have one or two hours a night at most to spend on gaming, so what could be so bad about gaming for a couple of hours on Battlefield 3.

here we go:

10:00 PM, select, map join game
10:05 PM , sweet i get an F18, fly around, get in a dog fight, awesome
10:07 PM, plane crashes to the ground, 1 minute pause, respawn, not counted as a death
10:08 PM get in a jeep instead, drive around, hit a hill, get some air, wooooo! game crashes to desktop.... WTF!@

10:10 search for another server, join another game
10:15,conquest game, score is 500-18 , great.
10:20 game ends, new round, game loads, BLACK SCREEN OF CRASH "LOADING"
10;21 ALT-F4
10:25 join new server, hardcore mode, bug prevents to join squads.
10:30 having fun, YAY, finally!!
10:35 unable to joinn squads bug, getting eaten alive
10:40 RAGE QUIT FUC*&*U$ EA GAMES!!!!!!!

Ok, don't let the door hit you.

Never had a single crash or issue with BF3 even though its installed on a dying harddrive.

I just checked EA's stock and it looks like it hasn't budged yet from this post. I'll keep a look out.

I havent had any of those problems on PC or XBOX, however a friend of mine cant even load into the game. It always crashes on him when the game is just about to load up the map every time :(

he needs to go to bestbuy and buy the most expensive pc on the warehouse floor shelf.

Think Im at 200 hours or more and haven't had any serious problems. Sure the occasional lock up, or crash but is easily solved by clicking join again.

I dont have a problem joining a game that is almost over, or even with a huge ticket difference. I like a challenge.

no complaints about EA and I've enjoyed battlefield 3 and Ive had no problems. UBISOFT however needs to piss off and die.

The only EA game that I currently own is BF3 and its never crashed on me. I've enjoy my time playing this game even coming in late when the map is almost over.

NO WAY THIS IS BULLSHIT THIS NEVER HAPPENS BF3 IS PERFECT....

Thats why I quit playing about a month after release. It's just too perfect it doesn't crash constantly the server browser isn't the worst most retarded server browser I've ever used. There's zero rubberbanding. I dont have to spend an hour just trying to get in a game with my friends.

My favorite part is that you have to alt-tab out of the game to get to battlelog which will occasionally crash the game DESPITE THE FUCKING FACT THAT EA HAS AN INGAME BROWSER AND FRIENDS LIST COMPLETELY GODDAMN SEPARATE FROM BATTLELOG FOR NO APPARENT FUCKING REASON. Oh, and you can try and link it to steam but EA worked very to block that so you can't even use a decent friendlist. You can expect it to crash then too.

Yeah BF3 is awesome though if you don't like it since they're on the wagon now I'm sure you can look forward to BF4 in 9 months.

I've had tons of issues with my audio. The game runs fine, I've had two Blue Screens and one lock up (in one day) but since then, no issues other than audio. My audio will randomly cut out mid-game and not start back up until I restart the game. Very annoying.

I've also had weird issues where, when joining a mp server, the campaign launches. That's annoying.

I'm finding I'm ditching BF3 because of these issues and playing other games. Skyrim.

OP, I share your frustrations. I didn't play the battlefield series until 2, but after I started playing BF2 and got hit with bug after bug I swore up and down I would never buy another EA game. I caved in and bought Battlefield 2142 a few weeks after release because my roommate got it and it looked really neat. I was dealing with annoying bugs all over again - at least one of which had been fixed in BF2, but they must have forgotten to apply the fix to the 2142 engine ....

I don't think it's fair to blame EA alone. EA publishes lots of games that are perfectly fine. Dice doesn't do a good job making stable games and EA should't publish such buggy products.

Mention Nazi's on their forum and see your account banned and all your Origin access revoked.

Whatever will I do without the ability to call people Nazi's on the internet. Might as well burn the Constitution right now.

Maybe thats the key, eh Smart guy???

My last game back in mid-december was as follows:

10:00 - Try to load game, won't even load.
10:03 - Try again, won't load
10:06 - Try again, won't load
10:09 - Try again, won't load
10:13 - Get a drink, its going to be a long night
10:15 - Try again, load screen came up, but crashed before entering game
10:18 - Try again, game loads, map changes to Metro Conquest 64, promptly leave because its the worst fucking map of any FPS in history.
10:23 - Try again, won't load "there was a problem"
10:28 - Load game finally, top 3 players are 100-0 or better KDR.
10:39 - Alt+F4, Close my web browser, uninstall Origin
10:45 - Loading BF2 back onto HDD while playing Skyrim.

Game bugs are the fault of the developer, not the publisher.

The publisher owns the developer and set their release date, as well as their current priorities. Calling out EA for the issues in BF3 is perfectly valid. Not even BF2 or 2142 went this long with out a meaningful patch. All that has changed since release nearly 3.5 months ago are a few minor bug fixes that affected almost no one, and a few balance tweaks to further make all the guns equally useless.

EA fan myself, BF3, SWTOR, Mass Effect...I could go on for a while (especially if I looked it up).

I haven't had too many problems with BF3 other than I still don't like the way to play it I have to open Origin THEN Battlelog THEN wait for a stupidly long loading screen THEN play. But other than that, no real issues.

A mate of mine had a lot of trouble since the beta where it would just not run, but his computer clearly had issues and there was a lot of other things going wrong with games and Windows Aero, its just BF3 was the straw that broke the camel's back and the first game that refused to work at all. I think he ended up reformatting when he bought his 2nd card for SLI and it worked, and fixed a lot of other small issues that other games were having as well. Certainly not saying its ALWAYS user error causing the problems, but in that case it was his computer's fault, not BF3's fault.

thing is you shouldn't have to do this period.........., but because laws are such shit in America, they can do this to you, i believe in the U.K if you buy X game and it doesn't work on your computer you can take it back for a full refund, and rightfully so....

i wish people would stop buying crap on release day.....and becoming he beta team for games

i still dont own Bf3, as much as i want it, from the stories i hear from crappy server drops to things like this... make me hold out.

+1

Game has been awesome besides some hardware issues I had. Crash here or there which is very rare.

Well get the lead out your behind and buy it! Don't let someone else's misfortune prevent you from something that you might like.

If I based my game buying habits off most stories you read on the net. I would not own one game. You have been around on these forums long enough so I'm sure you are keen on working out any bugs or settings you may need too adjust. Game is terrific.

Yeah, most the games on my Steam list are games where you can find people complaining on forums about X and Y not working.

Every game will have some problems for some people, its just the way things are. Its really hard to gauge what proportion of people are having problems from forum comments, because its mostly the people complaining who are having issues rather than the people who are not :p

I haven't played BF2 or 2142 but from what I understand even though they released patches regularly they had a tendency to make somethings a lot worse. Additionally 1942 and BC2 were quite buggy for a while too. I highly doubt BF3 was all that rushed out and if they're not releasing patches well then either EA told them to stop supporting the game (a rather stupid thing to do given they want BF to beat out Call of Duty) or DICE is taking an insanely long time to do anything (which seems to be fairly common practice these days). Personally I think the second is most likely unless EA is planning to shoot itself in the foot, which is possible.

There can be a huge difference between 'bugs' and not being able to run.

I think DICE just has terrible QA. Battlefield 3 needed at least another three months (probably more) of development before it was released, and a proper beta that was based on the launch-product and not some broken mid-July build of the game, but EA forced it out the door to beat Children's Online Daycare to the shelves. For that reason, EA deserves a healthy portion of the blame.

And bitching like a 5 year old with "waaaa it doesn't work so I'm just gonna cry about it without finding any solutions waa", is better? Of course not. Whining, bitching and calling quits is a much better solution. Go see if you can use the internet to find fixes, fuck no why do that, that actually makes sense.

Well said plague, it's just amazing how dismissive the EA defense force can be when blindingly defending their saviors.

Generally speaking, I very rarely have any problems with stability of software, but for me BF3 is just one of those games that regularly crashes. And its just not the client side software, but the fact that servers will regularly take a dump.

But but but.....Origin and Battlelog together are pure awesome!

I agree with you, but unsurprisingly people who made the same complaint during the alpha and beta were labelled as whiners.

If anything, I believe this game needed at least another 6 months of development. There are still so many half baked and broken game mechanics and design issues to this day that it is actually unimaginable that it was released in the state that it was.

I agree that the server browser should be in game and not have to load the damn game every time you change games.
BUT
I have never seen anything like you explain.

connection problems.
something else running that is causing conflicts.
bad install or something got corrupted.

There are still so many half baked and broken game mechanics
well they got their god mode jets and reduced the ability to shoot them down to nothing. So they got that right.
OR WRONG

but its not the reason why his game is crashing so much
