EVGA Overtake

We'll see where we stand once the EVGA Bucks kick in, yo.

:D
If we can stay ahead of them on a monthly basis, that's all that matters. We might fall behind next week, but our goal should be to kick the bucks folders down as quickly as possible.

We just need to keep brining more "D" online.

Also, with a giveaway ending and anotherone starting, we should see a pop in membership.

Fold on!

And hopefully that giveaway winner brings that rig online folding 24/7 which will help a bit, too!

My gaming rig is being moved out of the office and into the basement to combat the summer heat. Fold on!

Switched Habu to Linux and gained 15k ppd with a 6900.

I'll be relighting nighthawk next week since my son is going back to school. Nighthawk will add another 50k ppd for me.

This is pretty awesome keep up the good work guys! If I win that shinny 2600K you better believe its going dedicated full out on linux.

Anyone know where Apollo has been lately? It would be nice to have him back as I know that he would probably be thrilled to see us actually being competitive with that other team again.

I feel so guilty that I can't help out this team anymore. I think i'm going to overhaul my gaming rig to a Zambezi 8 core later this year, and that may allow me to add the gaming rig. As of right now, I can't justify the power draw for the low production it would be doing especially since the computer room is already too hot even with the window unit on full blast.

While that would be nice (and I believe there are a few more on the way...)
we need a bunch of 15-100k guys

^^^This, its these steady, often silent team members that form the backbone of the team and more are always welcome.

folding 1 and 2 are still crunching right?

Dropped the pair of 480GTXs (22k PPD) but added a 2P AMD system worth 110k PPD...

We keep getting fewer and fewer folders - down to 835 active. We need to bump this up to past 900 to take some pressure off our big folders. Hopefully its only due to summer and this fall everyone will be back to heat thier homes.

Fold on.

I'm sure a good bit of it is because of heat and or job/money.

I was going to shut down farm due to heat, but I was inspired by our team surge (and cooler than expected weather) to keep folding.

folding 1 and 2 are still crunching right?

Hell yeah, non stop!

Both of my folding rigs are down in the guest room. My gaming rig is up in the computer room which bakes this time of year even when the window unit is on full blast. The new ATI GPU3 OpenGL client still sucks and hasn't given me any reason to fold with my 5850's anyway. Because the gaming rig is running heavy with 3 HDD's, and 2 GPU's, it makes no sense to fold on just the PII 965 either as the power draw would be too much with all that stuff.

Nice. Keep up the good work.

What pod do those 5850 get with the version 7 client?

Could someone please give me a brief update on OpenCL folding? I'm getting a new rig when the next gen of AMD CPU and GPU comes out, as soon as it comes out.

Firstly let me congratulate you guys for the hard graft in outproducing EVGA.
Would you attribute the addition of 6903/6904 units as the cause for the change?

At T24, we are a long way from you guys, but over the last few months a few of us have made the effort to re-establish some form of monthly prize.
I started it off by kicking in a MSI GTX460 in february, which was then reciprocated by another forum member when he too gave one away in march :)
Fast forward to today and we now have some forum sponsors throwing in cash and hardware, we have increased out ppd x 3 and just cracked 100Million for June.

As well as run the monthly comps, i also look after the "Folding Fund" where people just kick in cash when they can. In a forum such as yours where people sell hardware on the cheap to other folders the general rule of thumb is that the buyer kicks in a few bucks to the fund ;)
To this day we have just over a $1000 in our account, have given away multiple GPU's, DDR3 kits & even some forum coffee mugs :D
Next month MSI have sponsored a N560 and P67 board, of which i have built a 2600k around an am hosting a "beat the box" style of Challenge.

i feel the Beat the Box style is a more interesting way to create and sustain interest.
It also means that the prizes are adding to the monthly total as opposed to just sitting there waiting for a winner to claim them.
I'm not exactly sure of the format you guys have here for your give aways ( i do know there was some controversy a while ago) but i figure its worth sharing what works for us .... and in turn might learn something to help step up our efforts - as non threatening as they may be to the mighty [H] ;)

anyway well done guys
keep up your great work through the summer.

Paul

Nice. Keep up the good work.

What pod do those 5850 get with the version 7 client?

I gave my 5850's a try for a short while and they averaged 7500-7800ppd each for a total of 14.5k-15k ppd for both.

Looks like I have some reading to do.....

Thanx for dropping by, and for the info. Fold on!

Yah well sad news here. I have two machines, my 970 and my new 2600K that both stopped folding for some reason. Since I am in Las Vegas for a few more weeks I can't do anything about it. Oh well. At least I brought my Q9550 with dual 460's with me and it is running full tilt. So approx 30K running. Can't do anything about them till I get home in August or so.

You are away for a few weeks and left your home rigs folding? Now that is super Hardcore as I can definately say that i'm not that brave with the kind of weather you can get this time of year.

My folding rigs have run 24/7 for many years. I have them both on full time UPS's and don't pay any attention to them other than some maintenance from time to time. If lightning hits well so be it but other than that I am pretty safe. I used to have it set up so my neighbor could reboot if needed. However the new rigs aren't set up to restart folding and such with reboots. I built them and overclocked them just before I left and forgot to set them to automatically start things. Dummy me.

But as far as weather goes the UPS's will keep them running for approx 50 minutes if there is a power failure. Usually that is enough. When I am home I have a generator out in the garage that can run the house and the 50 minutes on the UPS's is plenty of time for me to get the generator up, running, and feeding the house power. So when I am home I am all set.

rmdashrrootsplat,

in our more prominent times at the pointy end of the field we used to give away whole boxen.
I believe the team gave away 68 complete folding boxen over the years under the same format.
We have just started them again but are opting to give away parts rather than the whole box :)
Whilst it generates points and interest (new & old) its really just a good way to reward our wonderful members.

Perhaps for a vast team as this one here you may need a couple sets of rules to cater for the big ppd differences. May i also add who ever runs your competitions ... give them a medal .. they are hard work to organise and update each night (see the OP in our comp threads).

Anyway enough about us ... was really just popping past to share an idea that might help you secure some more ascendency over EVGA ;)

pop in any time. any help we can provide each other to take down The Corporation is welcome in my book.

Speaking of which, if our two nations can someday reach a treaty to fly the same team 33 banner, you let us know :)

a treaty as in fold as 1 super team
OR
is there some animosity amongst our teams i'm not aware of?

I could never imagine a day where OCAU and [H] combined folding teams. Especially not when we two teams duked it out for the #1 spot month in and month out for such a long time.
Heheh
