I have the same L/R speakers hooked up to an emotiva XPA-3 from my Onkyo TX-NR1007. My center is the HTM-61 though. My rears are 685s as well. I love my home theater setup and I bet you love yours, too.

Wii (not in use)
SVS 2039PC+ (now on the left side behind the speaker)
SVS STS-02s (STS-02's, SCS-02 center channel, and matching pair of bi-pole SSS-02s)
Housed in a BDI Marina (8729-2) Triple Wide Enclosed Cabinet

I had XPA-3 and xpa-2 and a HTM61......

All burned up after a lightning strike, emotiva, never again until protective circuits are in place.
So put something infront to protect the poweramps, my advice, I had the emotiva's and htm61 for a month before sadness struck :(

I do love mine when i get a poweramp again!!! :D the damn alu drivers are too hard for a onkyo to drive.
 
I have had a power conditioner in front of everything for years. First rule of the game. Good advice for anyone else that doesn't though.

we didnt have a powersurge for 12 years, not even outage...

So you get my toughts...
Norway and electricity have been very good, it's really cheap too, but unfortunately a change of the main transformator was a week too late, planned the week after the burn :(

But posting that image and getting reminded about emotiva.. damn, now I bought some >_<

UPA-2 ordered for rears.
In talks with emotiva if they can mark it as a RMA product so I dont pay tax, cause I had my unit for no time, and its beyond repair, 200 usd per hour is a usual wage for a norwegian with somekind of education (no they dont get paid 200 bucks right in their hand, the real cost, for businesses etc etc. our income is high, prices are high, check bigmac index..)

Got some new speakers this past friday. Future upgrades will be a new sub or subs, new avr, and maybe surrounds (just using 3.1 for now). I'd also like a larger display and to switch to a plasma, but that's not as important. I might replace the tv stand as well to give my components more room and so I can get that center channel a bit higher. Too many things to do and not enough money :(

my plan is to get real tv furniture and a subwoofer sometime in the next month or so.

TV is 46" sammy and speakers are Energy RC

You're right, but the biggest threat is my bf throwing pillows at me with those glasses there. We'll see... If the lecturing didn't work I might have to start using car mugs with the safety lids :p

Getting my subs up and running is next. I have two DIYMA 12's and I need a box and an amp. The bottom shelf will have the sub amp when I get that. Please excuse the wires for now, I haven't gotten around to cable management yet. I'll get to that after I get my subs going.

I need to get something behind the center channel to prop the Kinect and PS Move cameras since the center channel is sloped.

Is there any way to access the special features that way? Also how do you execute thumbnail chapter selection without the java menu since your streaming without buffering issues?

You can do a straight up ISO rip for full movies with all special features. HTPC will mount it and play it as a disc. Or one could buy a Netgear NeoTV 550 as it has full support for all BD features. Personally I strip out all extras when making my rips. I very rarely, if ever, watch them and if I need to I can pop in the disc. Doing full ISO's take up enormous amounts of space and my MKV's are typically a fraction of that size.

I don't bother with chapter selection. I know you can do it but it's not important to me. So I can't be much help here.

Thanks, I'll take look into mounting ISOS if the the size of the BRD isn't too big. I have quite a collection when it comes to stand up comedy BRD's. I have been looking for away to watch them conveniently without stripping too much of the original disc

Updated the room... Moved the computer desk + iMac that used to be situated in the back to the second bedroom. Moved the love seat from that bedroom to the old computer spot. PS3 and 360 sits under the TV. Moved the center speaker to above the TV using a Center Stage Bracket.

And yes, the copper wire set-up bothers me too. It was a quick set up I did from last year. When I find the time ill be buying a new spool and just run the wires alongside the walls. Really wish I could just drill some holes in the floor and just route it that way, but I'm renting :(

What are you using to mount your center speaker above your TV? I've got a CS2 coming soon, and am looking for some suggestions on how to position that beast.

Bought the Center Stage Bracket 1210 model over at Crutchfield. Here is a link to the product page on the company website: http://www.centerstagebracket.com/1210.html

Initially bought it for the Kinect. It's very solid stand that works with my 58" and I have no problems recommending it to people. Not sure how well it works with smaller TVs, like a 32".
 
I really like how clean synergy's setup is. Not a big fan of the polk monitor series though.
 
Got a new receiver and some new surrounds today, but unfortunately the speaker cable I had left is not long enough lol. I really miss having a sub too so I do need to buy a new one as soon as I can.
