Super Robust Robot Hand

Please place the robot hand down on a hard surface then hit it with the hammer/steel rod. There isn't much impact force involved with this type of strike.

So will you hold your hand up so I can hit it with a hammer?

I believe we need to sign Clark's 3 laws of robotics in to real law now.

Go SKYNET! We're all going to die. YEA!!!!

Clark? As in Arthur C. Clark? You are mistaken... that was Isaac Asimov's 3 laws of robotics.

no way i'd let that thing touch my dick... er, not that I would do that anyway....

They have it totally backwards. Should be designing robots that CANNOT withstand strikes from a hammer / steel bar. Give the meat cages a chance eh?

I don't understand. Why is this important?

Given that people with robotic hands don't tend to live like pirates or work in construction, I fail to see how this is relevant.

Oh god...

Any one have the waynes world gif of garth beating the robot hand?

I just don't know what to make of this, but I'm investing in agents that promote accelerated rusting, just in case.

That kind of looks like Robocop's fake arm in the 1st movie after Murphy is initially killed by that gang.

I'm not sure what's creepier... the Terminator-esque skeletal metal hand on the left, or the I-Robot looking version on the right. I do have one question though...

WILL IT BLEND?

Progress

In years to come human soldiers will be ultimately replaced by machines.

I'm not saying soon, but eventually. This is just another step in that direction. I'm sure there will be other uses, but the military is a HUGE funding provider for robotics research.

Imagine all the resources that went into making just that one hand, and the billions of people on earth that will drain the remaining resources. We don't need a hammer!

Worst case scenario, the machines would use some sort of plague, and smashing some of them wouldn't matter much, anyway. Assuming they didn't just want to live/outlive us without aggression (like insects).

And one day our combat robots will be battling China's combat robots. The winners robots will then overthrow their own government and rule the world.

All I can think of is the episode of The Big Bang Theory where Howard "borrows" a robot arm from NASA and has to go to the hospital when it gets stuck with a tight grip on his manhood.
