What makes you think Rev. A01 provides a zero dead pixel guarantee?Very tempted to order this monitor again! I need a zero dead pixel guarantee that's what I need and it sounds like January 2010 A01 may provide that.

Sure did. You might want to wait for the new HP 24 inch coming out this week. Its supposed to have all the features of the Dell but be about $200 cheaper. Its supposed to retail for $425..and it IPS
HP ZR24wSorry for the noob-question. But what is that HP model your talking about? What's the model name?
I do not have a U2410 myself, but I guess you solve the dithering issues through flashing the A01 firmware. Search this thread for instructions.Another issue is the dithering of greys. It's real annoying, especially given the price tag. Feels like a TN panel at a third of the price would have sufficed.
I've got a couple of problems with the U2410. Have had it for almost 6 months now.
Recently noticed a pixel stuck on cyan, but that's only on light backgrounds. On black, it's "invisible". On red, it shows as dark brown, almost black... basically adding cyan to whatever color the pixel's meant to produce.

Made an image with a range of greys and captured it with a camera on the monitor:

My question now is, if I phone up Dell, will they replace the monitor?
I'm not sure whether the cyan pixel counts as a "bright pixel", in which case Dell will replace it under their Premium Panel Guarantee.
Help? Thank you.

@ hmz: Unfortunately, I'm in the UK.Call ... Riza Porciuncula ... Just tell her that you have a dead pixel...

can you tell the revision from the lable from the box?
Returned 2nd U2410 due to green pink tint.... for 1/3 of price bought LG W2220 and i am stunned by the quality of the picture. White on IPS monitor, finally.
Cheers,

I received my U2410 this week and I love it, a very nice LCD. It's a Jan 2010/A01 assembled in Mexico, with no tint issues.
I do however have one red dark sub-pixel right in the middle of the screen, which I know will bug the hell out of me; and it came with smudges on the screen. At this point I'm feeling somewhat disappointed and I'd like a new one. I know that at the very least I could return it, but what would my chances be that Dell would swap it out for a new one? Thank people!
Within the first 21 days they will replace it with a new one. So you better call and get it replaced.
So do all the current U2410's (current revision) have this tint issue? Do you have to call Dell directly to get a panel with the right revision that doesn't?
Most of the u2410s have the tint issue arranging from not noticeable to extremely bad. The revision has nothing to do with it. The only fix for the a01 firmware was to fix the dithereing in sRGB mode.
3.) I don't know why, but I have the feeling that the same text looks better on my laptop's TN display. I wonder what could be the cause; the subpixel structure looks almost identical on both panels.
I see... Well I guess I'll (have to) get used to it. Thanks for the explanation. This mostly caused from the strong ag coating used on the u2410 giving it a grainy appearance.
Now I remember that I've read (on the lp2475w thread iirc) that the tint can disappear over time. Can any of the longer time owners confirm this? I don't think it's worth having it replaced as I might end up with a worse panel... (defective pixels, more/equal tint)
I've seen a few U2410's now, including side by side comparisons with screens that had and didn't have the tint issue. In my own subjective opinion, when you get a U2410 with good lighting and uniformity it does make images look just that little bit better, and it also tends to make modes like gaming mode more tolerable too, since the fully wide gamut modes tend to make tint issues stand out even more. You'll still have saturated colours, but it's easier to live with when your white doesn't look like pink or green etc2.) The only really useable modes are sRGB,AdobeRGB and Custom. All other modes (including Game) have horrible colors -- don't think I will ever use the game mode with those colors, wide gamut aside.
