Not sure about server 08', but I did get my 360 to connect to my x64 vista install using tversity.
The Media Player/Home features are not on Server 2008 or are shut off. It's not a desktop OS and that's why they whole "Server 2008 Workstation" stuff dies fast. People realize it's missing a lot of the stuff you use everday. Once you reinstall everything you need, you have Vista that cost $800.
i get some kind of error....."EROR 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion"
then it says windows could not start the tversitymediaserver service on local computer
says...."the tversity media server is already running of the service cannot be started."Hmm... try opening the TVersity program, click on 'Settings', click on 'General'. In the 'Media Sharing' section click on the 'Start Sharing' button and see if that does anything.
Try stopping the service and waiting a few seconds after it is ACTUALLY stopped and then start it up again.
I have to do that myself from time to time to get TVersity going on Vista x64.
says...."the tversity media server is already running of the service cannot be started."
its already on stop..only option it lets me do is start..which errors
There's nothing weird about it. Vista's been fast and stable for almost two years now.i think i might just install vista on it to solve my problems..i know that sounds weird. lol
heyo,
first off, windows server 2008 is not an OS you want to use for media streaming to a console. It is missing a specific media sharing service that exists in vista but not server 2008. This is because microsoft considers vista to be a consumer OS, with media sharing support, they consider server 2008 to be anything but media sharing haha.. installing WMP11 will not solve it either.
