Razer DeathAdder 29.90 @ GoG@mer

WD40? How? You just spray under the buttons? Also, what tweaks have you done?

Putting a drop of WD40 on the clicker solves the double clicking problem. I soaked the clicker and it sits in a "tub" of oil. You have to remove the screws and disassemble the mouse a bit. Mine had it very bad, would double click constantly when I was moving around menu's in Windows. It hasn't double clicked a single time since I did it though, completely solved it.

The other tweak I did was put white lithium grease on the scroll wheel mechanism. I hate to hear any sound at all when scrolling. It totally killed all the plastic noise. The feel of scrolling is perfect with just a slight bit of resistance for accuracy. Feels like turning butter now and my index finger never tires. I took a hammer to my old mouse after I was done. :D

+1 for this mouse

I was able to snag one from CC on clearance about 9 months ago now for like $22 or something crazy like that. Hands down the best mouse I have ever used. Much better than the 518 IMO, and even better than the Copperhead (though I admit I have limited experience with that one).

here is the link

its OUT OF STOCK anyways

I experienced this last week as well, but a reboot fixed it, at least for now. Driver issue?

Fantastic deal though, paid $50 for mine and I think its still worth it.

I have rebooted many times. I guess I can reinstall the drivers. If that doesn't work I will take it apart.

I don't even know what the unit for that chart is so...

I should note that this is essentially the same mouse as the Microsoft Habu, just without the two dpi increase/decrease buttons on top. Very very good mouse. Very comfortable and very accurate.

But has Go Gamer even tried apologizing and making amends?

I'm curious about this. I like Go Gamer, Jason is quick to respond to any questions I've emailed to him directly. Every game Ive purchased in the last few months has been through Steam or them. Does this situation warrant filtering their name?

They said they shipped 1 day ago, wtf <_< I didnt get sqizzuat.

edit: reading is good, it's actually hidden inside the email that says your order was processed, lol.

Well, I've got that too but this is all it says...

Status: Electronic Shipping Info Received

I'm guessing my DA hasn't even been shipped out yet despite the fact that I paid for expedited shipping

You paid $2 more for Priority shipping...

Looks like I'll actually get mine today, it's already showing it's in a city 40 minutes from me.

Not bad for $5 shipping :D

If Kyle hates go gamer so much, why does he replace their link with hearts instead of with "x"s?

Lol, already received mine today. I paid $4.99 as well, I think thats what go gamer calls priority.

Trivial as those ratings may be, they still don't give units. Do they score each category on a scale of 0-100 and take the average?

Those ratings are pitiful.

He's using ESReality MouseScore 2007 to score all the mice. I've never heard of it, but I think that quoted chart is a composite from the other scores.

Better than the Copperhead? I don't think so. Maybe looks-wise, but the Copperhead has 2000 DPI whereas the Deathadder has 1800 DPI, despite the Copperhead being an older model.

Heh, I absolutely DO think it's better than the Copperhead. The DeathAdder is about much more than DPI (although I typically don't use more than 2000 on any of the mice I've owned).

I've owned both the Copperhead and Lachesis, and despite my best attempts I was never able to get used to the shape or button placement of those mice. To me, the placement of the side buttons is awkward and those mice required a different style of grip that I never really felt comfortable with.

The DeathAdder makes it a lot easier for a long-time Logitech or MS mouse user to come to terms with a Razer mouse IMO. My hand naturally conforms to the shape of the DA and the side buttons are large and much more easily manipulated than on the Copperhead or Lachesis. The mouse is very accurate, and tracking is great...but that can be said for just about any good gaming mouse these days. Trust me, I've used a good number of them.

I won't make the statement that the DeathAdder is better for everyone, but I've seen several people like me who can't come to terms with the shape of the Copperhead and it's good that Razer offers a mouse with a significantly different design that might just appeal to them. The scroll wheel is excellent and I prefer it to the one on my G9, though everything else about that mouse is very good.

In short, this is a great price for a very viable gaming mouse. It's a great alternative to the G5 in this price range. The only thing it really lacks is a dedicated button(s) for DPI switching, but that's not a deal-breaker for anyone that doesn't need to switch DPI on the fly, as I'm 99% sure it can be adjusted in the software.

Liking it so far, super fast shipping is nice too, order thursday, $5 shipping gets here saturday...

I think it "might" replace my 518... >_<

Replacing my G5 Rev 1 and I'll see how I like it.

I had a Diamondback Plasma LE, and the transition back to Logitech/MS style mice was definitely strange. We'll see how this new one goes.

i am sure guys are saying this, but its a great mouse. i got one last month for around $50. much better than my diamondback 3g and logi g7. my hlstat ratings in tf2 went from 2000 plus to 650 in the few weeks i have had this mouse. now when my n52te comes i will be a real contender.

So far not impressed at all.
Maybe aside for ergonomic preferences of some people IMO even MS Sidewinder > Deathadder

Cons
- Extremely light weight, hard to get a feel for traction.
- Very small mouse feet, once again poor traction and tracking abilities.
- Firmware sucks. My only DPI choices are 450, 900 and 1800?!? What is this Soviet Union or something, every Logitech mouse firmware gives you free choice of your dpi.
- No customizable weight sets; for a mouse this light that should be a prerequisite.
Pros
- Looks nice
- The center Razer emblem pulsates ( I feel like Im in 3rd grade or something).

I play some more with this mouse, maybe I'll finally find some pros.

Yes, the deathadder was voted #1 out of around 30 different (copperhead was in the list) models/brands in some site. It's worth $30 no doubt. The only problem, and a huge one, with this mouse is that some have a dreaded double click problem. However, it's easily solved with WD40. (not joking)

After a couple tweaks I did to mine, I wouldn't trade it for any other mouse.

I know you are talking about the DeathAdder but my copperhead is double click impaired. It's almost impossible to not get a double click even when you hit in once. Does that sound like a similar problem?

Interested in this WD40 thing. I retired my copperhead. I'll at least give it to my cousin if it isn't trash.

[H] - where typing in three capitalized letters makes you superior.

At least try to explain why you're laughing out loud?
[H] - where nooblets think greater DPI means greater mouse.

Razer Lachesis, 4000DPI, yet, one of the most hated mice on the planet.

400-1600 is all you need. Max I ever use with my G9 is 1600 dpi, anymore and cursor becomes uncontrollable in bf2.

I couldn't give two shits about DPI. All I need is a mouse that is comfortable, has an accurate laser sensor (or an optical that doesn't freak out on you), and some side buttons.

I'd just like someone to explain to me why the Deathadder is better than the Copperhead without linking to some extreme mouse score chart, typing LOL, or having an I-art-better-than-thou attitude.

Whether its better or not doesnt matter, to each his own, but you seem to feel 2000 DPI makes the Copperhead better than the Deathadder, while the Deathadder is one of the if not the most popular mouse out right now.

Don't take it to heart when someone says the DA is better just because you own a Copperhead. He probably said LOL because that chart is not the only chart on the internet that states the DA wrecks every other mouse.

What I meant to say is that the Copperhead, based on just pure technical specs, should be better than the Deathadder. I use 1600 DPI so anything above that is too much for me anyway.

I'm still curious as to how the DA "wrecks" every other mouse out there though.
