Windows Feedback Program - Free Vista/Office 2007 - UPDATE!!!

lol @ keys.

Did it come with 2 different keys? Or are they the same...

2 different keys. Yup. We all just got ourselves 2 retail copies of Windows Vista for the price of FREE. You gotta love that...

BTW, feel free to use my keys if you want. :D

So what's the policy on this? You can only install it on 1 computer? I'm thinking of building a new rig in like 6 months or so. Does that mean I can't use it on my new one later? Won't be using my old rig anymore :( Giving 32bit version to my gf.

These are supposed to be full retail licenses, meaning you can take them from machine to machine. It's your copy of Vista forever and it's not married to a single PC / Hardware Configuration.

Nope. Entering either key seems to only give you the option to order the 32-bit CDs. Not that I expected it to work, but it was worth a shot.

Well I just tried inputting a key off a retail copy of Vista Ultimate (we're talking about an off the store shelf deal) and it only offered the 32-bit DVD. Maybe their fulfillment department is out of 64-bit DVDs at the moment?

I did note that the 32-bit DVD it offered me had SP1 integrated so I guess that's a good thing. People can get their own SP1 integrated DVDs through MS' alternate media ordering program now.

Oh, really? That's badass!! WooohoOOOOOoOo!!!

Since we can't order the 64-bit disc...

Step 1: Borrow friend's copy of 64-bit Vista Ultimate
Step 2: Use free 32-bit key for install
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Profit!

:D

(not sure if this would actually work.)

It will.

Vista CD keys are not exclusive to either the 64-bit or 32-bit version.

As a matter of fact I just validated my 64-bit installation of Vista with the key from the jacket that had the 32-bit disc in it. ;)

yip yip!

i havent heard a ONE DAMN THING from microsoft since i signed up back in november or whatever. i gave up and uninstalled the feedback program two weeks ago.

and today there is a manilla package with two discs in it!! yip! microsoft rules!, they said they were giving away just one key to each person and they give two!!!

THANK YOU MICROSOFT! YOU GUYS ARE TOPS!!!

illinois but it doesnt seem to be tied to location. neither of my brothers got discs yet...

btw, these discs are OEM discs, but as mentioned above people are saying theyre retail keys. to me, it doesnt matter- ive transferred OEM keys to different machines no problem. microsoft just asks where you bought the key from, if you tell them 'newegg' then they transfer without problem. i know people will argue the EULA and shit, but in real world practice they really dont give a fuck!

Still no love here in Dulles VA. Hopefully will show up tomorrow, because my mailcarrier doesn't deliver hardly anything on Saturdays.

crapola

thats fine though. wont matter in the end anyway. i bought a slim dvd burner for my eeepc....anyone dare me to put vista ultimate on my eeepc? lol

its definately doable...will just run like ass though. xp sp3 ftw. :)

i dunno, vista's requirements aren't as crazy as most people make them out to be....

true. i noticed someone at the eeeuser forums had it running on his 900 and it worked fine. only problem is the WinSXS folder gets too big for the 4GB SSD so it has to be moved to an external drive or the 2nd SSD. should run just as well on the 701 though since its the same hardware.

i mainly bought the dvd drive so i could install office 07 :)D) and burn the freebies from DreamSpark :)

Nothing in Davis, California

Nvm girlfriend found it rubber banded to housemate's envelope. WOOHOO! :D Got it!!

this obviously has nothing to do with physical address locations... i think people are receiving their cd's in the order they were signed up for the program.

dude i still cant believe they gave everyone two keys. i feel like i got $400 for free. i wonder what information they REALLY took off my laptop haha...

Just got my copy in the mail. I was suprised considering I forgot to take the surveys in January. This is sweet!

You get both discs and two keys...

i only took the initial survery. they never even contacted me after that.

The surveys were completely optional.

The only stated requirement was that you run the Windows Feedback Panel software for three months.
