I am actually in the club since monday, when the postman delivered my christmas present :)
I know, i opened it too early, but i had to examine the screen for bad pixels...

Pfft only 30 inches? 52inches anyone? Congrats on getting the 30 inch the larger the display the more it seems to pull you into gaming and such!

man, that is not a monitor! That is a full HD TV with built-in HD tuner.
As an FPS gamer, I would never use something as big as 52inch LCD TV as my gaming monitor.

Why? It supports 4ms g-t-g and 75hz refresh. It is 10x better then my viewsonic that I used to game on!

How much did you pay for the Sharp 52? I heard the price is like $2800

Good luck getting it from a reputable vendor for 2.8k right now. I spent 4k and love the LCD, besides a very very slight Horizontal banding issue...

Lol sorry, no 30+ inch here, just thought that was humorous. Made my work day a little better :)

I got Sky HD box and HP LP 3065 and I can`t see picture. I connected that hardware hdmi cable+hdmi to dvi adapter and I got only blank screen. I tried all possible options on hd box and nothing. Do I need to buy some kind of scaler, buy different adapter or cable? Does Sky HD box is not supporting dvi-d input. Can somebody help me please:eek:

Don't try connecting shit like that on a 30" screen. These are ment only for pc's. If you want to use your whateverthehell it is, by a tv :D

I don't know why people are posting their 52" and 37" in here because the 30" is in a different class. The resolution dwarfs that of any HDTV and it has far better image quality than any HDTV as well.

No pics since the digi cam is dead, but I have a 3007-HC

btw- those of you with the larger displays, your resolution is crap.

Yeah, I hear that!

edit: except the guy above me is a tool. 1920x1200 is not crap resolution

for those who has a 30" and still plugging your power cords to the wall instead of a high end UPS, tell me you are just kidding.

Yeah, but 1920 x 1080 is. Especially on a large screen.

Whatttt? No it isnt! That's what all the best televisions work in, are you insane? Or just a snobby 30" owner that feels some stupid need to trash every other screen resolution lower than yours.

I'm pretty sure Phillips or someone has a screen with higher rez than 2560x1600. 3XXXx2XXX. Still feel superior?

Yeah, it was the IBM T221. A 22" LCD with a resolution of 3840x2400. Imagine the dot pitch on that beast

Guys I want to join the 30" club with a 3007, my problem is that I got spoiled when I got my second 2405 and now I cant just go back to one monitor. So does that mean I'd have to get 2 3007s? Help me!

Ummmm... let me give you the title of this thread: "30" Club"

And yes, it's a crap resolution not ideal for computing. You want a computer monitor, then buy a computer monitor... anyone can take a plasma or projector and "cheat" their way into this club or any club for that matter.

You mean 1920*1080 as opposed to 1920*1200, wow a GIANT 120pixel difference...If so stop bitching and keep your stupidity for yourself...

p.s. my old CRT LG T910BU 19'' does 2048*1536 (with everything perfectly readable) so the war to "i got better rez than you" should stop, if a guy likes his 1024*768 display let him like it!

p.p.s. "cheat their way into this club": god you sound like those old guys at the golf club who still cannot believe they finally let woman play....

lol, oh snap. I thought this was for anyone in the 30'' range, as in 30'' to 39.9''. Withdrawl my post before Mr.Patate goes irate with sand in his/her vagina. :p

Actually, if you know anything about the current 30" "monitors" out there, I'm sure that you will know that their native resolution is 2560x1600, not 1920x1200. Currently, mine is running at 2560x1600.... try more like a 640x520 diffrents... HARDLY 120. Not even your old "CRT LG" can meet this.

Your knowledge about this subject seems to awnser the questions.

From what I've seen, its better to through a couple of vertically rotated smaller LCDs on either side of a 30" main LCD, than to go with two 30" LCDs... although there are plenty of examples of both on here.

I am going from two 20" displays to a 30" tomorrow, when my Dell 3007 HC shows up (I can't wait), but I'm seriously thinking of keeping one of the 20" LCDs around as a second display.... assuming I can fit it on my desk.

I dont care if you have a 30-32-37'' i'm not the one complaining about people posting their monitor/tv since it's not a "real" 30'' computor monitor at 2560x1600

yes i know that, but the thread is about 30'' and there's no mention about exclusivity for computer monitor. So that's what i was talking about. And also yes a 16:10 monitor will have a bigger display area than a 16:9. But have you thought about people who watch more movies/play PS3, than play game on their computer, a 16:9 will be perfect for those and an excellent computer monitor, not as good as the real thing but might be perfect for them...

lol this is an epic epeen fight.... This 30 inch flaccid club all you lcd tv/projector/plasma people need to gtfo with your erect epeens.

If a mod could can you change the topic title to 30 inch flaccid club?

I am hardly a fool. I have quite a good education thank you. Because of that education I can sit here and tell you, 1920x1200 on a 37" does not look as good as 2560x1600 on a 30".

Now, if the 37" had like 3300x2000, then yeah, that would be impressive, and I would give you TV-wanna-be-monitors some props. But since that's not the case, 1920x1200 is a stretched out POS on a 37" screen.

Hell, I could buy a 100" screen and a $600 projector and have the uber screen with a crappy resolution, but I don’t do that because I don’t want to see each pixel.

The 19x10 rez looks just fine when your sitting 10 feet back on the couch (generally the way I like to watch TV!), I don't know why people are getting there panties in a bind over it. 25x16 is better for use as a monitor though, but I figured thats a given.

This is obviously serious, serious business.

clearly, it must be.

Rotate your 24" to portrait style and use it to read webpages, or documents along side your 30"!

LOL. I called you a TOOL, so much for that education - what happened to basic reading? Now you ARE a FOOL too.

and you didnt say "ON A 37" - you said that resolution was CRAP, PERIOD. Which is UTTER BS - because you're saying EVERY SINGLE TV and MONITOR below 2560x1600 is junk.

You are totally out to lunch and if you think 1920x1200 isnt GORGEOUS you need to get your head put back on right. you also understand little of the effect of viewing distance.
