Are the SPDIF inputs what I would be using to connect the receiver to my computer? Or is that optical out?
Also, what do you mean by test the volume pot? Sorry for being so noob :P
Alright awesome, I'll try to get my hands on it :)
One last question.. When I go to see the receiver (Marantz), is there anything I should be testing in particular to check the condition of the it? Or is just kinda like if it works it works?
Thanks so much for your help :)
Thanks for the info really help. However at this point I think the Topping or the Marantz would be the easiest choices for me... But the question is, which of them between the 2? :P
I know both will have enough power for me, I'm just wondering which will have cleaner sound.
I don't know.. I'm trying to keep it around $150.. $200 absolute max. But what do you have in mind anyway? Maybe if I get the amp now and DAC after it won't be too bad. But also.. My choices are somewhat limited because Canada has a really crappy selection compared to the US, or our stuff is a...
I probably should've mentioned I'm not using a DAC and am running off onboard sound right now.. So if any of these receivers has a good DAC, that would also be a huge plus too
Basically I know both of these have more than enough power for me (because I'm sure they're both much more powerful...
Hey guys,
Just looking for a receiver to replace my Sonic Impact T-amp that I'm using with my Energy C-100s/Klipsch Sub-10. I'm just looking for something that would be good for music from my PC in general, with some decent power and hopefully better reliability than my T-amp (started dying...
Cool, sounds good! Hope the seller responds soon :P
Thanks guys
Edit: Damn it I'm always missing out on these good deals! :@ It's already been sold -__-
I found a Denon avr-590 for $120 on craigslist (apparently new from an overstocked warehouse), and I was just wondering how the DAC on it is?
I just want to use it for my simple computer setup (Energy C-100s + Klipsch Sub-10), and I know its more than powerful enough to run the Energies, but...
Well I'm using it for my PC so its perfect for me, don't need the extra inputs. Also my budget is more around $150, but I guess that's low-balling it pretty hard isn't it? lol
Hi guys,
I'm looking at a Marantz SR7500 on Craigslist and the guy is asking me to make an offer, but I have no idea what it goes for :S Apparently it's in "mint" condition.. Can anyone help? Thanks
Haha alright, I don't really wanna get slapped now =P
But yea pretty excited to get this now, I just gotta wait for a day we're both free and go test it/pick it up! :D
Okay great, he has the remote anyway so all is good, and I got him to lower the price anyway ;D
Also, can you comment on the DAC? Would you recommend I hook up the receiver using optical out from my mobo considering I'm running off an on-board soundcard right now?
The remote is not a necessity though right? Would the receiver have all the functions of the remote available on the receiver itself? I'm not sure if he still has the remote, I'll have to double check with him
EDIT: Nvm, he said he has everything except for the box =)
Awesome, I'll try to get it as soon as I can :)
Also, do you guys know anything about the DAC in that thing? I'm running off my onboard soundcard right now.. I'm sure there must be an increase in sound quality if I were to use optical out right?
Edit: Oh yea, and this is my first time buying a...
Damn it, it's been sold already! =(
My search continues...
I did find a Marantz SR3001 for $150 though.. Any thoughts on that compared to the 7000?
Thanks again! :)
Oh okay, well I guess I can always play around with it to see what I like.
Now I'm just really hoping this guy responds, because I really want the receiver lol
No I'm not joking =P
And the amp doesn't have much power, but it's still pretty nice for what it is. And I don't think I'm having problems because I'm not getting enough power, I think its more that something is loose inside the amp. The left channel seems to cut out at random sometimes, but...
Thanks for all the feedback guys! Now hopefully the person selling it replies to my email.. lol
Why do you say that I'll only want to use the optical inputs?
Hi guys,
So right now for my PC setup I'm using Energy C-100s powered by a Sonic Impact T-Amp along with a Klipsch Sub-10. Really happy with it, but been having problems with the amp recently (left channel cuts off randomly, only seems to fix when I turn amp off and on multiple times).
But...
Okay cool, I'll do that.
I was just wondering if Essentials would be better 'cause I have no idea, and Avira was installed on the computer when it got infected :P
Ugh, I have the EXACT same problem as you deadman_uk
One of my relatives laptops (very technologically illiterate), and it has like 520 infections consisting of W32/Infector.Gen2 and HTML/Rce.Gen -_-
I was also wondering what the best thing to do would be since they also want their pictures...
I really like those lights and how they change with what's on the screen, but I have no use for the speakers. Is there anything similar to this, but with just the lights?
Alright great, thanks for the quick response!
I also had another question though. I was reading the review linked in the first post of this page, and somewhere on there it says something about a low input lag "gaming" mode:
Also mentions...
I am interested in this low input lag settings...
I'd like to try this monitor, but I'm really unsure how I will like it. It has both good and bad aspects, I'm just not sure how bad the bad qualities really are. :P
Since I don't know of any stores that have this monitor, I was wondering if I could just get one from Dell and return it if I...
Does Dell (Canada) have any sort of satisfaction guarantee for this monitor or their products in general? I know with big box retailers like Best Buy, you can pretty much return anything if you don't like it. I'm guessing Dell would have some sort of restocking fee though?
I've also got a similar question. Do the receivers posted here have decent DACs? Or are there any fairly cheap receivers that also have some decent DACs so we can just bypass our soundcards?
Thanks in advance!
If anyone still has invites, I'd really appreciate if I got one! I'd be sure to donate back to the thread whenever I receive invites, thanks!

I recommend not looking for problems if you already bought it :p
Not that I know of any major problems for this monitor anyway, but if you can't see anything wrong with it, you'll enjoy it that much more right? :)
"Ignorance is bliss." :D
Hey guys, I haven't been keeping up with this thread to know what people really think of this monitor, so would someone be able to give me a quick list of pros/cons of this monitor? I've really been wanting a 24 inch version of this for a while, but it doesn't seem like any is going to come out...
How come it's not available in Canada anymore? I'm interested in getting this monitor if Dell doesn't come out with a proper 24" E-IPS soon, but is it no longer available?
Also, can someone quickly list the cons of this monitor? I've heard amazing things of it, but I'd just like to...
I'm pretty sure it should handle those games without problem... SC2 I'm not sure about because I don't really know the requirements, but the requirements are fairly low for WoW, so that should run really smooth.
Thanks for the response. I understand what you're saying about the larger batteries that stick out and ruin the aesthetics of the product, but I think I would have to get the battery in order to have a laptop that would last me throughout a 2-3 hour lecture without charge. That's why I wanted to...
