Hi Guys,
I tried doing a quick Google search and couldn't find anything.
I saw that the Logitech Orion Spark has this side app you can put on your phone, which acts like a shortcut or basically the "LCD" screen in their old school G-Series keyboards.
I wonder if any 3rd party has made a...
Hi Everyone, I'm looking for some thoughts and opinions on a multiple SSD configuration, or possibly just going with a single bigger SSD.
With BlackFriday deals going on, I have the option to buy some larger 500 GB drives or a bunch of 250 GB drives.
I have a Z77 motherboard and it supports...
This is a mini rant, and I am definitely not hating, this is with reason but I wanted to share my experience with fellow enthusiasts. I have always favoured the underdog, I've been using AMD graphics for 14+ years - Radeon 8500/HD 5770/HD 5870/HD 6970/HD 6990/R9 290X.
Of course I have used...
I recently bought this card because it seems to be the best value and has the one particular feature that I'm looking for - 2x DVI!
Couple of questions being a newbie Nvidia owner, I have been using AMD for the past 8+ years.
-This card uses 2x 8 pin PCI-E power connectors compared to 6+8...
Hi Friends,
It's been a long time since I tried overclocking video cards! Due to some disappointing issues and limitations with my old R9 290X I switched over.
I couldn't find any good comprehensive guide to over-clocking my card, I've gotten as far as using the MSI Afterburner and using...
Just wanted to share my first gaming laptop purchase! For the longest time I've been holding back on buying ultra-books/gaming laptops in general, as I don't see the point in dropping $1000 for a ultra book that's just powerful enough to do some daily computing and no gaming.
Finally, Lenovo...
Adding pics or else it didn't happen :)
Purchased this from NCIX when they had a 30% off on clearance items, they had both the Club3D and Asus Direct CU versions on sale!
I picked mine up for $475 CAD after taxes, needless to say I was quite happy!
Pros:
-Comes factory overclocked at 1030...
Facts:
Geforce 780 Ti MSRP $700
AMD R9 290X $550
= 22% more expensive.
Facts:
Performance is very similar < 10%, I'm not sure in game play if we'd notice in general, the "feeling" should be the "same". This performance gap greatly decreases as we move into 4K/Surroundview/Eyefinity...
Funny thing I noticed while researching around the web, many people switch from G15 (gen2) to the Gigabyte Osmium.
I tried quite a few keyboards at my local NCIX and did quite a bit of research. I know the Osmium is *not* perfect, but it depends on each persons needs. These things you really...
Hi guys,
I'm looking at these 4 models and I'm wondering what would be the best for gaming.
I'm purchasing from this local store: http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProdList&cmd=pl&id=HSP.958
The Razer Barracuda HP-1 is on sale for $80
Fatl1ty MXII is $55

Hi notebook pros!
I'm looking to get the Olympic Special Edition Acer Aspire 1410 notebook and I was wondering if the HDMI supports audio?
The chipset is GS45 which uses the GMA 4500MHD graphics. Also, any opinions on how this graphics chipset performs with 1080p files? I'm hoping to use...
Excuse my ignorance, but I don't see why a symbolic link system is so great.
I just install my applications on another hard drive and it works. why do all this messing around with creating links on C:\ and stuff?
It's not like having a symbolic link on your main SSD will make things faster...
Hi,
I haven't been able to find any definite answers on whether or not write caching should be enabled for SSD drives under Windows 7. I'm running the SSD's in RAID 0 if that means anything.
Thanks,
Chan
Hi,
I just wanted to make a post about my value SSD RAID 0 setup, which is my first experience with SSD's and I'm trying to get great performance without big bucks.
I live in Canada and I bought 2x64GB Kingston SSDNow V Series from Canada Computers for $119.99 CAD each, after taxes it came...
Hi,
I just got 2x64GB Kingston V Series SSD's and I'm going to RAID 0 them to try and boost up the lack of read/write performance.
I couldn't find any good stripe size reccomendations for SSD's, I'm going to be using them as my system drive, so it's going to be a gneral purpose thing...
This is a quick picture collection of my new Maximus Formula non-SE. I'm doing some quick testing with 8GB of OCZ Reaper @ 4-4-4-15 with 2.1v, I'm just making sure the RAM is working fine and system is relatively stable.
I'll post back at a later date with Q6600...
Hello everyone, I noticed this happens a lot with different system setups.
If you do a quick Google search you'll see many people reporting same issues, but with the weirdest responses.
1) This is an issue where the mouse ONLY jumps to the bottom left corner.
2) This is NOT a dirty...
I was wondering what kind of water blocks you guys have tried mounting on the Striker Extreme?
I'm worried that the heatpipes might get in the way.
I was thinking of upgrading my block to the Swiftech Apogee GT maybe the GTX.
It seems like the performance difference between the two is...
This is Thermalright's first CPU blow, it looks like I need a super strong pump for this baby to work well, do you guys think my 400 L/h will work?
http://www.thermalright.com/a_page/main_product_xwb_01.htm
I'm not sure what my RAD is made out of, it's the Thermaltake Armor LCS, they have a new cross-flow design RAD for this setup (not like the old crappy heater-core style).
The block is copper, I'm using distilled water + 10% water wetter.
You guys think this is going to be safe?
Based on a few web reviews this product seems like a good buy, especially since Performance PCs is selling it for $39.99!!
I find it hard pressed to purchase the Thermalright HR-03 Plus @ $54.99 ... do you guys think it's worth it?
Considering that the Thermaltake unit is SMALLER (more...
I have the newest drivers on a fresh XP installation under the nvidia monitor it shows only 60%
I tried manually adjusting with RiverTuner 2.04 it shows the correct speed in RivaTuner but under the hardware monitor still 60%
I tried using nTune to adjust, cannot apply higher than 60% fan...
Running Windows XP.
ctfmon.exe cannot end process when I try to shut down, gives me the "end now" / "wait" option thing.
I tried removing in registry for loadup, but seems to come back every other reboot.
Any ideas how to stop it?
I tried two clean installations of XP always comes back.
I have current 163.18 drivers and using RivaTuner 2.04 and I can't seem to adjust the fan settings from the default 60%, I can't overclock but not much because it keeps crashing (I'm assuming due to over-heating).
I tried setting in both nTune and in RivaTuner to 85% for the fan but it keeps...
What drivers and OC utility can I use to boost up my GTX I'm ready to clock it up!
I have the current drivers found on the NVidia website and my ntune doesn't report clock speeds properly it's basically kinda screwed up. 168.18/163.18? I can't remember.
Where can I find utlities to flash...
http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/view.asp?idx=272&code=021
Looks promising any thoughts?
I'm probably going to buy this and try it out, priced quite competitively and would probably cost the same if I bought the Zalman copper air cooler + the aluminum RAM/mosfet cooler.
I noticed...
My HD is divided into two partitions, when I did a re-installation of XP I deleted the primary and re-created it into two parts.
However, when I did this XP made my old partition which was the secondary the main and called it C:\ so when I installed XP on the new partition XP called it D:\...
I have:

On Aug 22/2007 Asus released another new "BETA" BIOS 1305 which claims to have improved overclocking stability etc. etc. etc.
I took it with a grain a salt, I noticed their new BIOS's usually help with some compatibility stability, but overclocking was rarely changed.
Low and behold, I...
Just wondering what's the best platform to overclock AM2's?
I have a crappy old n500 (aka n400 revised a bit) and doesn't seem to give me much OC'ing abilities.
As a second PC my 3600 X2 seems to be quite quick, but wanted to get more juice out of it :p
So I'm using a Thermaltake Armor LCS system.
Now I'm getting 60c under load with about 24-26c ambient (air con with closed room door). This is with P95 stressing all FOUR cores & my 8800 GTX working it with a game running in windowed mode.
Idle ranges from 35-40c.
CPU voltage is 1.36v...
Okay I have a Q6600 @ 1400 FSB /w 9x = 3.150 GHz.
When I do an overnight Prime95 with 4 threads no errors keeps working.
When I do Prime95 with a Game (MU) running system crashes after a short while.
Any ideas? BTW when it crashes, the screen freezes, can't move anything no response...
Just got an EVGA 8600 GTS in my secondary computer build.
Right now I have it at:
Core: 783 MHz
Shader: 1674 MHz
RAM: 1101 MHz = 2202 MHz
Will report with temperature numbers after I have everything complete. Will probably try pencil Volt MOD and see how far I can push it. So far...
I always read 1.5x your RAM, when you have more make it 1:1.
But my question is, I have 4GB of ram, but 6GB or 4GB pagefile seems kinda stupid, or is it?
What should I do?
I got this gateway, where I'm trying to install Windows XP Pro, however I'm having the hardest time finding the Sigmatel HD audio driver!
I tried downloading from Gateway previous versions for other PC's with no luck. I tried different ones off the net, they all won't initialize my sound...
I've noticed many people are getting their hands on G0 now.
Which begs the question is it really that good? It was the ES G0 which was clocked @ 3.9 GHz on air that caused all the commotion. However, I've yet to have seen good overclocks, I think only one user posted 3.5GHz on their...
Just purchased the new Armor LCS case, this system has the improved cross-flow style RADS (120mm x 240mm) pre-installed in the front of the case.
Please no complaining about how crappy the TT products are, I believe this revision they have improved a lot on their systems. The system is stock...
As the name implies, it was a build I did for someone, 6x 20" LCD's! All independent displays!
Specs
Core2 Quad Q6600
EVGA 680i
4x 1GB Corsair XMS2 PC6400
3x 6600 GT PCI-E
