ZoneAlarm goes to the dark side, uses scare tactics

The free version of ZoneAlarm is now putting up a warning dialog that your PC may be unprotected from the Zeus trojan and strongly implies that you should pay for the paid version of ZoneAlarm - without having actually found the malware in question.

I guess they decided that rogue anti-malware scare tactics work so well that they should do it too. That puts them on my never-recommend list.

ZA has been on my "never recommend...keep that crap the F away from my computer" list for a loooong time. I can't begin to count how many computers I've repaied that have had their networking components and tcp stack hosed by that hideous software.
