Hey guys I am building a new system with a dfi nf4 ultra and and 4400+ which i plan to overclock.

Is the zippy HP2-6500P a recommended powersupply for this motherboard, i read the sticky post that its supposed to be awesome but i dont know of anyone using it especially with this motherboard.

If its not a good choice should i got with a modstream 520 or sl2 500 both seem good to me :)
Thanks alot for the help! Cheers, Lukas

Zippy makes amazing PSU's but it may not be the right PSU for you. What is your entire system and what do you want to spend/get out of this PSU?

Thank you for the reply my entire system is:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ $549.99
DFI LAN PARTY UT NF4-D $119.48
ThermalRight XP-120 $51.99
Panaflo Fan $12
2Gb Patriot (PDC2G3200LLK) $242
The videocard will be a pci card until the g70 is released.
I basically want a powersupply that is very stable and allows me to overclock the system without stability issues.

I dont mind spending the 120$ or so for the zippy HP2-6500P.

THanks again!

As long as you aren't planning on SLI I would say look at the Seasonic S12 series over the Zippy here because it is an ATX12v2.0 supply and will net you similiar AMP distribution(with the exception of the split 12v for future compatibility, similiar feature set (Active PFC), quiet, and efficent(~80%).

You are missing your optical drive(s) and harddrive(s) so I can't finish running the calculator but the S12-500 ought to cover you. The g70 will be a guess until they show up but the seasonic is as good a bet (or maybe better) as the Zippy (in this case) for being up to it with a few bonuses

There is a compatibility issue IIRC with Zippy units and a certain DFI board with a 5v vdimm jumper (not sure if it's this one or not). Setting the jumper trips the protection circuitry on a Zippy. Otherwise, PSU's don't really come any better quality. They're meant for servers and workstations though - quiet is not a priority there.

I'll second the Seasonic S12's. I also suggest the Fortron/Sparkle 550w units, or the AX500-A; OCZ Powerstream above 470w; Antec True2 or Enermax 470w+; or the PC P&C 510w units.

Oops I had thought that was a different DFI board. Should have mentioned though I guess.
