Does anyone know anything about these ZAGG products? I have heard the installation is pretty tough. Any thoughts?
 
I got one of the custom logo ones for my brothers iphone. I was expecting it to be very difficult to install but it was rather simple. Maybe because I expected the worst. And it is still holding up very well after 1.5 months to a phone that sees a lot of abuse. Not as sticky as I expected either. But is very slightly sticky at first, but it still slides across tables for me even the first day.
 
The new protectors are cut more precisely and are a LOT easier to put on.
I bought the original iPhone 3G invisible shield from Zagg the day the 3G was released. I got it on after two tries. The corners of it started to peel up after a month or so, but it wasn't too bad.

After a year i got fed up and ripped it off. At that point I found out Zagg will replace your shield free of charge. So I got a free replacement. That's when I noticed the design had changed SIGNIFICANTLY. This one was WAY easier to put on, and I got it on the first try.

They *are* tacky feeling. Sort of like a really tough but soft rubber. Some people like it(I do) other's hate it.

The key to putting the shield on properly is, in order:
1. DO NOT STRETCH
2. Use ENOUGH spray(don't skimp)
3. put the spray on the shield and not on the device.
4. start with the back and start by lining up the camera hole and the cutout for the vibrate mode, this will allow you to properly line the whole thing up so you won't have to peel it up(peeling it up risks stretching=real bad).
5. on the corners, use a hair dryer to heat it up and make it more tacky.
6. do each corner one at a time and don't proceed to the next until you're done.

Anyway, my new shield is about a year old, and only one of the corners is starting to peel up now(literally about 9 months in). if your corners start to peel up it's important that you immediately re-heat them and reapply them or they'll get dust on the adhesive and you'll never get them to stick again.

All in all, I have to say that it's the nicest shield out there. It preserves the form and actually does something. Well worth the time and effort.

Remember, Zagg will replace your invisible shield indefinitely, even if YOU screw it up. Just remember to keep the old screwed up one because they ask for it back.
 
I have it on 7 devices right now. Can't live without it.

That is the thing, you have to pay $3-4 [forget the exact number] for the "free" replacements cost of shipping + the charges [small, but still there] for shipping your current shield back to them.

Each "free" replacement under warranty ends up costing around $5.00. The price of many of their competitors products, that include free shipping.

I think the full-skin has protected my zune from the bulk of the damage, but don't believe for one second that it will remain scratch free. Mine was scratched up on the first day of use.
And don't expect the same level of clarity from your devices screen -- it clouds the picture.
 
I have this on my Blackberry Bold 9000 and absolutely love it. I can take a key to the surface just like the video and it does work. However, it doesn't help from the occasional drops onto the concrete stairs....
 
I like them, installation is a little tricky but I feel safer with them on my devices. I've tried cheaper ones from like the AT&T store (for iPhone specifically) and hated them. There might be better ones out there, but I've always been happy with the invisibleshields that I've gotten.
 
the installation can be tricky, you need the right amount of the liquid, too much and the films slide all over, not enough and the film doesn't move at all. other than that, they're great. i have them on all my portable electronics.
 
My old protector was garbage feeling, on a Diamond touch a few years ago. I recently bought a new one for my Touch Pro 2 and it is great.
 
Installation was tricky for me also. I eventually removed it from my iphone after a month since I didn't like the feel of it.
