Yorkfield Delayed!

I thought those didn't come with a heatsink...so why is the box is freaking huge ? Or am I mistaken about the lack of heatsink? Pics of the heatsink if there is one?

Retail Box Comes with the new HSF. ;) ill have more pics later =)

Yeah you can buy 15 Camry instead of 1 Ferrari 430 Scuderia.

Or you can buy a Subaru Imprezza and tune it with less than half the money you spent on the Ferrari and you could still be all over the tail of that Ferrari. Of course your Subaru lifespan will be shorter but by the time the car died, the new Imprezza would already be out and probably a new Ferrari too. You would still have enough money to get the new Imprezza if you didn't buy the Ferrari.

I'd rather have a Porsche.Besides with a dealer just next door,(literally) it'd make for easy service.

But then it wouldnt be a ferrari ;)

I kind of like the extra time of waiting for the lower end Penryns. I can save up more for a better Core2! :)

Has this delay been confirmed by anyone but that french site? I'm planning on building my computer soon and would like a Q9450 but if its not coming out until March...

how many servers do you usually host at once? I used to host a high traffic 32 player Onslaught server in UT 2004 on a pentium 3 that ran at 600mhz and it rarely ever topped 40-60% CPU usage

I take it you don't upgrade much and hwen you do it's for a long period of time right?

I'm just shocked you paid that kind of money. I too can afford it but right now other than having no SLI for ddr 3 yet I find it hard paying 1000 dollars for something that won't give me any better performance than the current ddr2... Is it just some bragging thing? (I am all for that too, just a *Tad* expensive and you're talking to a guy that spent 470 on the first wave of twin2x2048 8500c5 ddr2. :p )

edit: I just wnat to say it is a great setup, just curious and not trying to hate

Holy. $800 of ram? I get cheap on ram. :p

Anywho I did a quick OC *like 5mins*. And so far this.

im curious too, its a fairly high cas latency of 7, and even ddr2 1066 could handle a 533 fsb.

if the motherboard can handle a frequency beyond that (can it?!) then i guess maybe you could crank the multiplier all the way down to 5 or something and run an insane 800*5 overclock haha. that would be nuts

Oh yeah! :D

OC3.jpg

So far so good.

Im gonna lower the voltage. Im sure it doesnt need that much.

If you don't, you could be the first to tell us if Intel's 45nm process suffers from SIDS :p

Seriously, though, I thought these processors weren't supposed to exist because they were buggy?

Good luck getting a mobo to run 800FSB...

haha, that's kinda what i was getting at. id be surprised if it could do even 533fsb, in which case lower-latency ddr2 speeds would be adequate and would yeild better performance, no?

what am i missing here?

Looks like intel might be taking a page from air cooling manufacturers...................

If I was only making that kind of money I would probably do the same thing. Oh well I will be retired in 8 years so its not a total loss!!!!

nice OC to 4.3ghz, but yeah thats alot of volts. To be honest, I can go that high as well with those volts, but I rather have a decent OC using the lowest amount of volts possible. I think 4ghz is a nice number to play with.
