Are there any benchmarks anywhere comparing equivalent Yonah and Merom CPUs at stock speeds? For example, how fast is the 2.16GHz Yonah vs the 2.16GHz Merom?
We're talking about CPUs that will be primarily used in laptops which very rarely offer any overclocking potential, but more than that, the first wave of Meroms should slot right into existing notebook architecture. Therefore a stock speed comparison would be very valuable to someone - like me - interested in maximising CPU power on their existing notebooks.
I've heard talk of 20% like-for-like speed increases, but independent benchmarks would be very much appreciated...
