Well... add me to the heap.
I tried the console out at BB today and like many, wasn't too impressed.
I guess I am spoiled by PC gaming.
Call of Duty ran smooth, but where was AA? At least give me 2x. I also have a grievance with FPS on consoles. It feels like I am being handicapped knowing there are better control options out there.
King Kong demo looked pretty good, but nothing a pc gamer hasn't seen before. The biggest addition for this intial round of games for the 360 will be the utilization of heavy bump mapping and volumetric particles. Respectively displayed in the T-Rex's skin and the water particles from a waterfall.
Verdict: Wait till the late spring at least for better games and maybe price drop? Also if you have been gaming @ 1280 or above with aa and af, this will be a backpedal.
And yes the TV was set up correctly with component cables in 720p.
If you don't game on the PC, this will be an upgrade, otherwise I would wait till next summer when the games sell the console, not the graphics.
